Unlike a New York public school teacher during covid, the technician got to work. He removed the ice maker assembly and suggested it might need to be replaced. I began mental preparations for taking out a second mortgage, as Viking parts are absurdly expensive. In short order, he determined that the assembly worked fine (pretty impressive for a 20-year old fridge). A piece of food had gotten into it and blocked the water flow. He fixed it, put it back, and I was back in the ice-making business in no time. He could have totally fleeced me, but did not -- restoring my faith in humanity, but not New York's teachers' unions.

Sal was very responsive over the phone and scheduled an appointment for a 2 hour window. Alex, the technician came during that time window and also gave me a call 20 minutes before his arrival to give me a heads up. I love how communicative the entire NY Viking Team is. When he arrived, he made sure to cover his shoes with blue covers and he was able to quickly diagnose that my oven door needed new hinges and gave me the price, which I agreed to before he then promptly fixed everything. For folks who want peace of mind that their oven will get fixed and don't have these technical skills, I definitely recommend giving NY Viking a call.

First, I'd note Melissa, the office manager merits a separate 5 star rating. She was wonderful to…read moredeal with. Our washer stopped working last week and we called in Mr. Appliance to let the m know our washer was giving us an E1/F9 error message. The technician was able to come later in the week and did spend a fair amount of time with the machine. He gave me a $600 repair estimate to repair/ replace the pump and to replace the bellow (which was highly recommended, but not necessary). Since the washer was 8 years old , we opted instead to buy a new one. Upon installation , we found out what the actual issue was. The cold water valve was broken. That's it. There was no problem with the pump. There was no problem with the washing machine. It took the Best Buy Installation team a couple of minutes to figure out what was wrong. I would give 1 star but the office really was great to work with. Finding someone to service appliances is challenging and this experience reminds me to approach providers like this with a healthy dose of skepticism.
