P.S. I noted that after the repair I could no longer use the microphone while in speakerphone mode. Effectively it was as if the mute button was used when using the speakerphone. This also prevented me from dictating to the phone (e.g., to speak to Siri or record messages). So a couple weeks later I returned to the store (the owner generally advises people to come early in the day for faster service). Charged $89 as a diagnostic fee, which is reasonable. Then told it would pay part of the cost towards the computer repair if it was over, also reasonable. What is unreasonable: not letting me know the "repairs" would cost an additional $180 before they did them. About a week later, after doing nothing but cleaning the computer and replacing thermal paste, with no new parts or anything, they say the issue is fixed (computer was initially not turning on due to possible power button or motherboard/overheating issue) Without letting me know the total cost, or how much the "repairs" would cost in advance, the owner stated the total cost would be $270, including $90 for updated system, scan and test. And they asked for cash as the "card reader is having issues". I'll only be paying this with a credit card, so that I get some consumer protection if they don't honor the 60 day warranty. Invoice Below: Diagnostic $89.99 (paid). 1st tech unclog+thermal paste Went from dead to turning blue. Confirmed not power button. $89.99 2nd tech tried breakthrough password but then wiped it. Still turned blue. Updated bios+system, virus scan, ram scan/test. $89.99. $269.99total w/ $179.99balance. I fully expect this to have fixed nothing. Based on the other reviews I have read, I shouldn't have brought a computer to a phone repair shop but that was my mistake. Next time try out geek squad, where they will "fix" the same thing for $180. I must look like a sucker, but I plan on paying these guys and then leaving this review everywhere I can so that anyone else looking for a computer repair is warned off, even if as the owner said "no one even looks at Yelp reviews anyway" And for reference: this computer refurbished costs $136 on eBay. Didn't fix issue. Refused a refund request. I brought in my desktop and was clear about the one thing I wanted fixed: DisplayPort output. After two weeks of hearing "just a couple days" several times, I got the call that the problem was repaired. Allan talked about the other things they did that I hadn't asked them to do, such as get the wifi working, and I brought my computer back home. I don't know if the wifi is working and I don't care because I use an ethernet cable. I do know they didn't fix the DisplayPort problem. I call to ask for support and the best they can offer is to pick it up and try again. Given that that would take another unknown number of "a couple days" and not get started until after the weekend, I get started on fixing the problem myself. I fixed the issue. I asked for a partial refund. They refuse the refund on the basis that there's "no way to confirm anything without seeing it to re-evaluate". They can't offer any evidence that they fixed the issue. I initially went the route of paying a professional because I was busy and couldn't be bothered. Enough time went by that I was no longer busy and this ended up being more of a bother, in addition to a waste of money. Before using RepairBar Laurel, make sure you've exhausted your own efforts and research. Before leaving your computer with them, consider that "1-3 days" isn't a trustworthy estimate. BEWARE - A Fraudulent Business & do not recommend to anyone. You are better off taking your phone to an authorized dealer for similar price & repair warranty. We dropped our two Iphones (X max & 12 Pro Max) to be repaired on Saturday (9/21) which both needed the back part replaced. Only one could be serviced same day (Back part replacement only) and the 2nd phone needed more time due to both sides (Front & Back) needing repairs. Without our consent and knowledge, for the same day service phone (IPhone 12 max) - they replaced the front glass that had no issues when we dropped it off and our only request was to repair the back. Upon pickup, we only checked the back and the business owner failed to disclose that the front was replaced unbeknownst to us. We noticed it on own after leaving the store based on Front color quality and device notice under Settings which Apples notifies you that a non-genuine part was used. We immediately contacted the business owner and returned to the store to which they admitted the Front screen was damaged during the back repair but we were never informed of this in the first place. Prior to pickup, they called us requesting we need to pay in cash because thier credit card machine was down - Another Con tactic in my opinion. The 2nd phone (X max) which was with them for 2 days despite our $95 deposit charge had not been repaired at all. The owner claimed they had to revert it back to the original state because of our complaint within the 45mins of us in the store however but they had the phone for two (2) days claiming they needed more time. I requested for a refund since my IPhone X max was returned to me in its original state. I truly believe they take workable parts from phone to resell or use to repair another phone hoping customers will not notice. They are not trustworthy with bad customer service and the owner offered no viable solution knowing they caused more harm to our phones than when we dropped it. read more

They give a fair price and honest feedback. I Rely heavily on my phone work. My phone was not ready until after they closed. One of the workers drove the phone to my home after hours to ensure I did not miss work related calls. I am very picky and a very difficult customer to work with. I was highly emotional.
