So at first I went to this establishment as it is in close proximity to my job, which was a plus. I had an iphone 5c screen replaced. After having services completed thw screen repeatedly detached from the device. Initially when I returned the cell phone technician repaired the glass by putting it back in place and screening tighter ensuring me that this would not happen again. 2 weeks later it came out again. I then came back and the cell phone technician told me I was doing it on purpose or perhaps I dropped the phone. I showed him the cell phone so that he could see that there were no abrasions or scratches anywhere on the device. The glasss itself remained in perfect condition. However it would pop out in my pocket. He refused to repair the device and attempted to sell me yet in additional replacement screen. Avoid this repair center at all cost. read more

I finally understand why so many yelp reviewers wish there was a 0 star option. My Iphone 6 screen broke and I used a service in koreatown to get it fixed. It broke again in no time and I figured I'd try a new place figuring maybe the first place used a bad quality aftermarket screen. When I get there the guy tells me I need to pay $30 extra because my LCD is broken and needs fixing. I had a groupon for a screen repair for $65, so totally it was $95. (This will be relevant later). I leave my phone with them and come back a few hours later to pick it up. I see that my screen had a blue tone to it, and the fonts looked kind of blurry, not at all like the clear display an Iphone has. My friend was with me and we compared Iphones and he confirmed that there was something definitely wrong with the screen. There was also another customer there with the same exact problem as me. I gave the phone back to the repair guy so he can see the problem. He changes the WALLPAPER to a black image and gives it back saying it's fine. Seriously? I told him I didn't expect him to use an original iphone screen but I did expect a good quality screen that functions the same. After some debate, he offered me my money back, and to put back my old phone screen. Except they botched that up too and the screen is basically falling off the phone. NEVER going back and definitely don't recommend them to anyone ever. $95 vs the $129 apple charges - GO TO APPLE. read more

There are no bad things to say about this place. While at first the layout is a bit worrisome, as it is basically a small kiosk like store within another business. I purchased a Groupon to fix my iPhone 6 and I made the trip downtown to go to have them fix my cracked screen (with so.many hairline cracks it looked like a spider was building a web. Plus little pieces were falling out and I couldn't make a call like that. Showed up without an appointment and the tech tooj a look at it and said.they could fix it. Asked me to come back in about a half an hour and that is because he was currently working on someone else's device. Came back a little over half an hour later and he was almost done. It is like it was brand new. The job will never know.... Shhh... Definitely will recommend, but hopefully won't have to need again. read more

Definitely not coming back. First, I called for a screen repair quote then it was $100 more when I got there because I supposedly hadn't disclosed the full extent of the damage. But did he tell me it might be up to $100 more? I'll let you guess. Then, when I come back to pick it up, he's trying to tell me the Groupon isn't for the service I had done when last time he told me it was. Finally, I turn on my phone (the screen works fine) and now one of the soft keys glows an odd, asymmetrical red because of one of the labels on the parts, they say. I was not warned this would happen, and now I'm not sure that Verizon will accept the trade-in. I'm not coming back, and I highly suggest you never get involved in the first place. read more

I own a Honor8 phone, and honestly - I love this phone, but the battery after 1.3 years pretty much holds 1/3 of the charge. So, i ordered a new battery for replacing it. Needless to say - couldn't get the back of the case off. So, i looked for a local business that could do it. This one was such a small hole-in-the-wall, that I almost overlooked it. Anyways. Without looking at detailed instructions, he pried open my phone's back case with care. Found the screws that held it together, and took the bad battery out, and replaced it with a new battery. Nothing cracked or chipped, though he mentioned he can't ensure this early in the process. It was the most tense moment of my day, watching someone disassemble my personal phone... but, i left with a phone with a new battery. Feels like a new phone! I bought a groupon and honestly didn't walk in with much of an expectation. I had a badly cracked phone I dropped on concrete. They checked on a few functions to make sure the phone was working correctly and began work on it. This was an iphone 6. The guy told me the phone will be ready in fifteen minutes so I strolled around the area and came back in fifteen minutes to a brand new phone. I also added tempered glass for ten dollars. I bought a coupon on Groupon at the first time. My iPhone 6s Plus screen was cracked and needed a replacement. So they replaced the screen for a very poor quality one. After months there were visible color spots on the screen and it was extremely sensitive, so I was barley able to text or browse on my phone. I decided to order a screen from the internet and I brought my phone to replace the screen again. It took hours and when I tried if it work the fingerprint sensor didn't work at all. So the guy told me it's because there's a cable that belongs to the sensor is broken in the screen I've bought. They offered me a new screen for $120 all included. I had no more choice, because I needed my phone. It also took hours to replace the screen. When I tried the fingerprint sensor didn't work again. So the guy deleted the old fingerprints and added my new ones. It worked. Why didn't he try this trick at the first time with the first screen? I complained for long and he tried to proof me I'm wrong and he's the expert. I'm not an expert, but I'm not blind and I saw what happened. They didn't return my money. Even after days the screen that they gave me started being unresponsive, I can barely browse my phone again. I don't often write reviews, but I felt I need to share my experience with this company. Horrible, absolutely horrible experience. I signed up for yelp just to let people know about what kind of service they would receive from Repair Institute. I have never left a negative review in my life but they-especially Bryan-really deserve it. They use very cheap screens which start vibrating when you touch it and letters popping up from your screen after a few weeks of usage time. Don't trust what they say over the phone for replacing the cheap screen they put.When I went back for replacing the screen, Brian and repairing guy acted very unprofessional, disrespectful, and yelled at me.I never had this kind of terrible customer experience with any type of businesses in my life. When I was there, there were other people who also seemed to came back to complain about the cheap screens. I will file customer complaint with The Federal Trade Commission. read more

I had my iphone repaired here, which you could barely call a fucking repair because I had to return THREE TIMES!!! Their screens are so cheap the colors don't even look slightly similar and the screens glitch when typing Also random apps would just open up when I wasn't even touching my phone! They said maybe the screen was bad and had me pay an additional fee to change my screen AGAIN, but it still had the same problems.When returning, they said they wouuld "check it out" and each and everytime they did nothing!!! read more
