This rooftop bar at the Gaylord was a cool spot. I saw a lot of reviews mention an '80s theme, but it looks like they've renovated recently so I didn't really get that vibe. That said, the drink I had, a peach sangria, was really good and the bartender was amazing. There's plenty of space inside the bar itself, and since it's a rooftop, you can step outside where there's a nice amount of seating with views overlooking the streets and Harbor area. read more

This place is super fun to bust loose after a long day. With our training we were able to utilize this space to have an event and get the full experience. They are a bit too tight with the place however. To access this you have to use a bank of elevators dedicated specifically for this place. I'm assuming since we had an event and it was only for our use that night would explain why you got the third degree when attempting to go up. Once cleared, you were able to finally go up the elevators. As the elevators ascend you get to hear a lower volumed sample of the music coming from above. Once the doors of the elevator open, you then get the full volume of the music. But it seems that they might want to look into some of the speakers as they sound as if they might have been blown. Especially the ones near the elevator. That aside, you walk out of the elevator and are greeted by a wide open space. The lounge is two-tiered and a majority of the area looks out over the harbor area. You have great views of the Capital Wheel, the water and Alexandria in the distance. The two tiered interior is spacious with seating everywhere. Upstairs is more of the lounge area if you will. One way up, one way down. Bars on both levels and the bartenders knew their stuff. Inside not your thing, you have the ability to enjoy the fresh air. There is a deck area that wraps from one door to the other. Nice little area to escape the noise without leaving the area. The coolest part. Currently this is an 80s themed bar. Flashy colors. Old school tvs. Lip sofa. Candy machines used as decorations. It was a well thought out theme, but it appears they need to have a touchup on some of the paint, it's a bit weathered looking. read more

I've been wanting to go to this place because of the 80's aesthetics and the milkshakes. I haven't looked at any pictures of the shakes beforehand because I assumed it'll be good. Man I was wrong! It was advertised that there was food here, but there were only drinks available. The shakes were $17 each, which made me anticipate that the shake will be very good! It was overly sweet and the toppings were horrendous. The milkshakes do not taste like they were made with ice cream. It resembles to milkshakes you can get at a fast food restaurant with their pre made base. It was very liquidy and too sweet. For the cookies and cream flavor, I basically tasted vanilla for the most part. The toppings were bad and odd. The strawberries looked old and gross. The vanilla cake that was on top of the chocolate cookie was dry. The sugar cookie was the worst, even giant had better cookies. It seemed odd to have vanilla cake, white chocolate, and graham crackers on the cookies man cream shake rather than the strawberry. The chocolate chip cookie was pretty good. read more

Tried this place out after hearing about it from tiktok. It's located inside the Gaylord hotel in National Harbor. When first arriving there, I was really surprised by the cool 80s themed decorations. The views up there were the highlight of the trip. It was beautiful looking at all the lights near the harbor. We decided to go with their milkshakes since they looked pretty extravagant on tiktok. To our surprise, they weren't that good. For $17 a shake our expectations were pretty high. The milkshakes were super liquidy and tasted like straight milk barely any icecream in there. The toppings tasted like they've been sitting out for days, super dry. Bamm-Bamm Absolut, Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice, Fruity Pebble Infused Syrup Cream *looks fun but did not remind me of fruity pebbles, pretty disappointed Lost Boys Jameson, Blood Orange Juice, Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, House Made Grenadine *this was dispensed from an IV bag so that was fun to watch but the drink was lackluster Talk To Me Goose Mezcal, Green Chartreuse, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur,  Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice *served in a martini glass with a cute garnish of a paper plane but this drink was just meh The bartenders were great, atmosphere was fun, definitely lots of Instagrammable areas and a fun indoor and outdoor space. Review for Replay at Pose Lounge - 80s themed pop up bar. Cute concept. The menu is decent for family to enjoy during the day and the adults to enjoy at night. I didn't like that I couldn't find a menu anywhere online prior to visiting. I came across the menu on the TV decor and then you see the QR codes at the bar. As soon as 9pm hit, the call was made for adult hour and all under aged (under 21) visitors had to leave. There are spots throughout the bar for photos - disco area, by the pinball and arcade machines (where some were off), a turntable with cassettes and a stack of tvs, and the grassy backgrounds with neon lights. Can't forget the outdoor balcony views as well. I've had adult milkshakes in the past and the ones served here are on the weaker side. They definitely taste as described but with the extra you pay for the "make it fun", you should know without doubt your "fun" is inside lol. The toppers are a nice touch. For the PB&J topper - the brownie and cookie was good, the top of the pretzel a little stale but the bottom with the chocolate was good. The Strawberry topper - pound cake and chocolate covered strawberries; my friend thoroughly enjoyed. The Bamm Bamm (fruity pebbles drink) was favorite. It was like a spiked bowl of cereal with lime. The Lost Boys cocktail was nice too. They were enjoyed more than the milkshakes but we're glad we had a variety to compare. They ran out of the mugs that you may have seen when the pop up first opened so they split the drinks in half and serve them in smaller glasses (as pictured) which is ok. Half the serving and half the price works out. The service... a little dry, like the pretzel topper lol the bartenders may have been tired from the wave of patrons earlier in the day. The servers on the floor were very nice and eventually cleaned up the few tables that were around. We left with the mutual feeling that there could've been more decor but it was decent. The 80s music was nice to hear but there were a few notable 80s icons that were missing from the Playlist in the 3 hours we were there. Cool for small/medium sized groups to visit. There is plenty of seating but you may have to rearrange to fit your needs as some people had to do during our visit. You create your own vibe and get your 80s on as you see fit. This is called Replay 80s bar now. It is a rooftop bar at the 18th floor of Gaylord National Resort and Convention. I like the vibe of the bar. There are chic and stylish lounge chairs, they have a lot of cool 80s memorabilia and they have fun adult and non alcoholic drinks at the bar. It is kinda pricey though. I ordered the strawberry shortcake milkshake which came out at $20 including tax and tip. Milkshake was good, it came with a piece of cake, a cookie, marshmallows and strawberries. You have the option to add alcoholic drinks for $3 up charge. The rooftop is overlooking the view of the Potomac River, the Capital wheel of national harbor. Really nice view. The atmosphere is really cool as It offers views of the Potomac River, neon lights, retro arcade games, and 80's music and decor. As far as the drinks, you can expect over the top milkshakes and creative cocktails but please be aware, they can be a bit pricey. I had the "Scarface" and it included Casamigos Blanco Tequila, Pinot Noir, Cointreau, Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice, and House Made Simple Syrup. It was pretty good and it cost $17. The staff was very welcoming and personable. It wasn't crowed at all when I was there so the bartender and I ended up talking and connecting on our love for travel. I also got a chance to talk with the manager to learn more about the space and he was very knowledgeable and willing to share. From my understanding it was originally created to only be a pop-up bar but it has been some time now since it's been there. If they do decide to keep it permanently, I would suggest they host different events to bring more people out and ramp up their marketing because I think it has the potential to be so much more, which is why I rated it 3 stars. I was expected something more over the top, lively, and memorable but I was also told I should go on Saturday nights instead of Friday -- I will give them another chance and see if my views change. read more

To be fair, the times I've visited were either for a private event or a pop-up. The most recent being for the 80's replay pop up bar. The pro to both experiences is the view. Whether sunny or cloudy, there's something awesome about being able to see above the National Harbor. The views get 5 stars. The experience is okay...good but not great. For example, for the pop-up it was beverages only, no food. For all the sugary sweet drinks, some savory bites would've been an amazing touch. I ordered a PB&J shake to share that was tasty except service wasn't friendly and I was overcharged :-( Music was fitting of the theme. Nonetheless, I appreciated that the Replay pop-up was open to the public, had no cover fee, and made for cool IG & TikTok moments. I I think the key with replay is to go on a weekday right when they open at 4 PM and go in with a knowledge that the milkshakes are pretty expensive but the atmosphere is really cool and they're definitely worthy of the Instagram. We tried the Bamm Bamm Cocktail (Absolut, Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice, Fruity Pebble Infused Syrup Cream) which is served in a fruity pebbles cup and is really cute. It was pretty tasty if you like sweet things (most of the signature cocktails are on the sweet side). We also got the two person Deluxe Chocolate Milkshake (Chocolate Ice Cream, semi- sweet chocolate syrup, milk, topped with chocolate chip cookie, chocolate covered strawberries & a chocolate chip blondie I 32oz ) which cost $26 which is definitely more than I'd like to spend on a milkshake generally, but splitting it with another person made it not so bad (plus it looked cool on the 'gram). You can add booze for another $6 or get a smaller version for $17. I haven't been after 9 when it's adults only but I imagine the bar gets kind of crazy as it was pretty slammed when we were there at 4:30 on a Thursday. read more

Not too bad for a hotel "club" and if you're staying at the Gaylord. It's very spacious with ample seatings and even has outdoor seating. Drinks are quite pricey (as with anything in National Harbor). Bought a bottle of the shittiest Malbec for $40, which isn't too bad but it's really like a $10 bottle at the liquor store. Depending on who's in town for the convention, it could be packed or empty. Sit outside, you get the view of the water and Ferris wheel. read more

Went back again while staying at the Gaylord. Nice view. It has an outdoor deck where people are smoking cigarettes. I don't know if they allow cigars but if yes, would be a plus and maybe make all the trouble worthwhile. If I were to use one word it would be "sterile." It doesn't have much of a vibe. Mostly people sitting around the edges. Service at the bar was okay on average. One bartender friendly and helpful and fast. The other making it clear she would rather not be working that night. Getting in is worse than an airport. Security guards demand a room key and driver's license at the door. Once allowed into the elevator lobby, another woman checks your name and room number on a computer. Recommendation? If you are not staying at the Gaylord, don't bother. If you are staying at the Gaylord, the view might be a little better if your room overlooks the atrium. read more

Word of mouth brought me to this cool 80's themed lounge. It's like Miami Vice, Risky Business, Cocktail and Saved by the Bell had a rooftop party. The views of the river and the city were beautiful and the inside brought you that nostalgic feeling of neon, big hair and maybe the smell of Aquanet. The menu was finger foods and deserts drinks that could be made into adult cocktails. That's a plus in my book! We when came mid day so families were there hanging out but it still was a cool vibe for adults to come and be adults. We got a strawberry chocolate chip cookie brownie shake with a shot of Rum. It was sooooo good and it took two of us to finish that bad boy. The plus was the alcohol infused strawberries at the bottom, it gave the drink a nice kick if you sucked on through the straw. I would have loved to visit at night and see what the night life vibe was, but day or night this place was fun for couples or a group. I'm not sure this space is a pop up theme bar or if it's year around, but if you do have a chance to visit you should surely give it a go. This place was hilarious. We went up in between bars. We were staying at the Gaylord so we just needed to show our room key and ID, then we were on the elevator up. When we arrived at the top, it appeared to be a normal club: really loud house music, room for dancing, colored lights, outside patio view, etc. No one was dancing. The average age of the clientele present was between 60-75 years old. I know they can't turn people away, but if that's the demographic...perhaps change the vibe. We ordered drinks and sat outside. The view outside was nice, but there were gigantic spiders and spider webs all over the glass patio walls. We had one drink and left. It was pretty funny. read more

This review is based off a special event I attended here. I thought Pose was trendy and sheik. It has been many years since I've been to a nightclub but this one was very upscale. I loved the white furniture. It was a chilly night, but had it been warmer I would have gone out on the balcony. It had a fantastic view. Appetizers were passed around- loved the dumplings. For dinner there was a pasta station, carving station, salad bar and crab cakes. Everything was delicious. I visited Pose for the first time for a private Halloween party. I purchased a VIP ticket so I had the benefit of seating in a VIP section which was located upstairs as well as 2 hours of top shelf open bar. Mori was the main bartender and would get assistance from time to time. There was usually a line for drinks but it moved fairly quickly. The music was great and I loved the vibe of the place. The lighting, seating and set up was great for a lounge vibe but left plenty of space for dancing. From my understanding, the lounge is usually only accessible to hotel guests. If this is the case I hope they change that policy and open it to the public because this would be a great venue for future events for the professional crowds in DC. read more

Come for the views, but liquor prices are inflated for short pours, and the security staff take themselves much too seriously. The place is really pretty-- beautiful views of the area, from the floor to ceiling windows. It's a 2-story space with chandeliers, hardwood floor, a wide stone bar, long balcony on the outside. Even the men's bathroom is the prettiest I've seen in the DC area, with its own windows and views. But the place can't decide if it wants to be a club or a lounge, and takes itself very very seriously despite a limited admission policy. On this Saturday January visit, there were a couple of dozen people at 11:30pm in a space that could fit 250 without feeling cramped. Despite that minimal attendance, staff were exceedingly concerned when girls in our group wanted to take their stilettos off to dance (anybody who's been to a few clubs has seen girls dancing in their stocking feet, it certainly isn't a serious matter). Similarly, club staff were concerned when girls wanted to put their clutches on the floor (and dance around the spot in a circle, so not like the clutches were out in the middle as a tripping hazard). Again, not unusual-- and there's no other spots (such as tables) in the large dance area where they could safely leave such items. If Pose is trying to be a club... actively discouraging girls from dancing means they've failed. Badly. Why have a huge dance floor, and then freak out about such small things? Drinks were very overpriced-- $13 is normalish in DC for top-shelf with a mixer (ie, Grey Goose and tonic), but these were tiny pours in a small glass full of ice. Not a cheap place to get a buzz.... Similarly chintzy, a vodka+redbull cost an extra $3 for the splash of redbull. More weirdness: unlike properties such as W Hotels and Kimpton, which make their nightlife a destination, Pose is open only to registered hotel guests. Hotel guests can bring either 4 (regular rooms) or 8 (suite) visitors up to the club with them. I had to call to find this out... Saturday night DJ played a fine selection (club songs), and seating areas are comfortable and spread out for a little privacy (presuming they're not taken up with bottle-service customers). There's also a 2nd story VIP area but I can't imagine it being used for anything other than private events. Coatcheck available on your way up, with a dedicated elevator available. The place could stand loosening up, and allowing outside clientele in, otherwise the space would be much better used as a restaurant or an observation deck or something. Take a look if you're staying at the hotel, but plan to do your drinking and dancing elsewhere. read more

Its own elevators with its own soundtrack, liquid lights and videos that created an illusive feel. Inside it has the base level of a small dance floor and leather chairs on the side. Upstairs is glass fenced loft style where it is open when it's busy. When your feet get tender or your ears get tired of the loud pop or even 80s music, push open the glass door and it will transport you to a beautiful view, fresh air that helps you have some conversations, or just chill and enjoy the peaceful scenery. Pose is open to registered guests of the Gaylord Resort only so know before you go. It is located on the 18th floor of the resort. The best thing about this two story lounge? The sweeping views of the Potomac and the nation's capital through these huge floor to ceiling windows. And there is also a wrap around outdoor deck although it was closed on the night we were there. Very dramatic! Got a little VIP vibe going? Then the second level is for you with reserved spaces only and plush seating. It overlooks the dance floor below so you can watch all the "action" from above. As for me- this place is a little clubby for my taste. The music was "oontz, oontz, oontz" the whole time I was there- there were women dancing alone on the white dance floor with the conventioneers standing along the sidelines. A little creepy, if you ask me. Entrance to Pose is just inside the main entrance to the resort as there is a separate elevator that whisks you to the top. The drinks here (like everything else in this hotel) are a bit pricey. Beers were $7 and mixed drinks ran $9. Not my kind of place. But if you are staying at the Gaylord and even if clubbing isn't your thing- it's worth a trip to the top just to check out the view. It might be the best part of your night. read more

Pose is a pretty cool club at the Gaylord. The decor and scene is just really posh and has a pretty good music selection. There is plenty of seating and space and a variety of areas to hang around. Drink prices are reasonable for a hotel bar and they tasted pretty good. All in all, a totally great place EXCEPT for the bar tending staff. There was this one older bartender on the upper floor that was deathly slow in making drinks and serving customers. I legit waited 35 minutes at the front of the bar before being served by a different bartender who was handling the other side of the bar. He got my drink out in 30 seconds and he was phenomenal. This older bartender though really put a damper to the start of the night, but the total package really is something to behold that brought this rating up from the depths. read more

I'm glad it was ... because after visiting on back-to-back nights, it's clear this club only has the allure of the view from the 18th floor at night to attract patrons. It was the slowest "club" I've seen. The music was infectious retro hip hop, but there just weren't many customers to give it a club feel at all. There were more employees than customers on both nights. Finding a table or seat on the futuristic furniture wasn't a problem. Trying to hold a conversation was ... because of the music. Other than your time out on the balcony, you really can't talk much at Pose and with just a few people, there really isn't much else to do there. Nice place, awkward location. This club is only open to people staying at the Gaylord and their guests. This makes for a strange vibe. I found most of the patrons to be suburbanites looking to spice up their vacation a little bit. There is nothing wrong with that at all, but again, it makes for a weird vibe at a club/lounge. The music was decent, but the drinks were overpriced. If I had to party at a hotel, it would be POV at the W over Pose. I would give 2.5 stars, but since I can't, I will round down to 2. read more

I think this place was trying to be 70's club that was very exclusive. The security acted as if they were doing you a major favor by allowing you into the club which opens at 9pm. The bar staff acted like they were doing you a major favor by serving your drinks. That is where the fun stops. The bar staff did not know how to make mixed drinks and after $16 per drink, it got old realizing they did not make them correctly or well at all. Bottled beer is the safest bet and it will still cost you about $10 a bottle. The DJ showed up an hour late, but that did not matter as few were there anyway. After seeing the view and paying for overpriced drinks from snotty wait staff, we decided to leave and noticed zero people trying to get in. If you want to see the view, stop up and then turn around and go somewhere else to enjoy your evening. read more

Unforunately you have to go through a nice looking, but sketchball filled "club" to get to the view. Also, the balcony is full of smokers. You have to be a registered guest to get up there and the drinks are pretty expensive. There might be a way around that though. There were a bunch of thugish looking dudes hanging around. I know they have money too and could have just as well been staying at the hotel, but they seemed kind of like regulars. They have a VIP sections, but I didn't stick around long enough to learn more. Beautiful club, gorgeous view from the balcony, and the drinks were delicious. Spent a couple of hours here on Saturday with a friend who is a resident. We got up to the club a little early, so there were really only four other people there, and about 90% of the seating was reserved for parties. We talked to a security guy for about 10 minutes, checked out the VIP section (It was closed from a party at some point, but my friend is thinking of reserving it for his PhD party or something similar) and headed back out to the balcony. Drinks were very pricey, but for no cover and the view, I'm not against paying $15 for a martini that was so well made. It didn't hurt that the bartender knew the two most popular types of French martini and asked which one I wanted instead of assuming. it also didn't hurt that he was very good looking. Went to Pose a few times back when it was open to the public. Now I believe it is now only open to hotel guests. The 2 or 3 times I've been, it was a good(funny) experience. The clientele at the time could have been considered a little ghetto, but there was a decent mix of locals and some guests I assumed that were from out of town. The music was so so, if you want to get your Carlton Banks or Beyonce on it was all good. The place itself was really nice. There was an outdoor balcony....not good in my opinion if ghetto-ness occurs. Highly likely somebody will get thrown over that joint and fall 18 stories to their death. Last time I went, some black dude rolled up on my crew and bought us drinks. Motherfucker kept asking us if we knew Wonder Woman. He wanted to start some business venture. He kept saying "Fuck D.C.
