Came here after dinner on Saturday, 11/23/2024. Arrived around 8:30 PM. It was a small crowd inside…read morebut since my friend was smoking a cigar we could only sit outside under the heaters on the covered portion of the outside sidewalk. Nomad offers no food just liquor and hookah. They also have cigars for sale but you're allowed to bring your own cigars. I had a Mango mint hookah which was considered to be one of their regular flavor options. The hookah was very flavorful and after about an hour - they changed the coals. The menu says that there's a 2 hour limit on the hookah. However my friend kept ordering drinks and therefore they didn't enforce that rule. You are allowed to bring food in and eat it as long as you're drinking. There are TVs inside and outside and there's music playing as well. The servers are attentive and friendly and I would come back.

Nomad is cool for what it is. Not the most glamorous lounge, but not sketchy either. As they do…read morehave an inside lounge, most people enjoy the outside patio area. They offer a nicely priced happy hour, if I remember correctly. They don't serve food. The drinks are pretty standard. I've never been wowed with my service here, but I've never been disappointed either. Nomad is pretty much a local neighborhood hookah spot that is just good enough. Would I go back? Sure I've been plenty of times! But don't expect fancy or glamour.

Had an excellent brunch at Kitchen+ Kocktails. My table opted to order family style and split a few…read moreappetizers and entrees. We had the oysters, trinity egg rolls, chicken with red beans and rice, and the catfish and grits. Everything was incredible. Flavorful, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection. I also had a strawberry lemon drop that was fantastic. Presentation of the meals and drinks were 10/10, so have your cameras ready to snap some photos. The service was also amazing. Warm, welcoming, and provided plenty or recommendations that were a hit. Now this place is a bit pricey, so come prepared to spend a bit. I was also looking forward to the DJ, but they did not have one on the day we dined sadly. Despite that, I'm already planning my next brunch here!

Kitchen + Kocktails: Oh, How the Mighty Have Fallen…read more.. This was the 3rd stop on the For the Culture DMV Food Tour, and THIS is where the food experience officially started going DOWNHILL!!! I was actually excited about Kitchen + Kocktails because this was my second visit, and my first experience was AMAZING. Great food, beautiful atmosphere, the whole experience. So imagine my disappointment when we were escorted to a dark basement and served...a poorly made caesar salad and what I'm calling FAKE GUMBO. I'm sorry, but I was INSULTED. Kitchen + Kocktails, y'all know good and well this was not it! Of all the dishes that could have represented this restaurant on a DMV food tour, THIS was the choice?! The food was nasty, and unfortunately, I finally understood some of those not-so-great things I've been hearing about K+K on social media. What makes it worse is that I KNOW they can do better because I've experienced better myself. My first visit set the bar, and this experience wasn't even in the same building with that bar. Well...technically, we were in the building; we were just downstairs in the basement. The flower walls and beautiful hallways remain the highlights. The restaurant definitely has some gorgeous photo-op areas, but pretty décor couldn't save that meal. And AGAIN: How are these restaurants accommodating guests with ADA/accessibility needs?! SERIOUSLY? The stairs and accessibility concerns became a recurring theme throughout this tour. Thankfully, my first visit showed me a completely different side of Kitchen + Kocktails, so I know this experience isn't necessarily all they have to offer. But as a stop on the For the Culture DMV Food Tour? This was a MAJOR disappointment and definitely not the K+K experience I remembered.
