Love their pop ups and the vibes. I came here with my boyfriend and we were able to catch the Stranger Things pop up before it ended in December. We didn't try their cocktails but they had a curated cocktail menu for the Stranger Things theme. For a Tuesday night the week of Christmas, it was busy as expected. There is a Photo Booth in the back room area that accepts cash. Most games are free. You have to pay cash to play skeeball, basketball, and the buck hunting game. read more

I have a confession to make: I suck at pinball. Those folks getting the high scores probably have the reaction time of professional athletes, as well as being able to perfectly foresee where that little ball is going to go. Honestly, such folks would probably make millions playing baseball or something; I couldn't really tell you, I'm not a big baseball guy. But I digress. What makes this barcade so phenomenal is that most of their pinball machines are set to free play! You can play them as much as you wish without spending a dime. As someone who has spent a dollar, only to see "game over" after about two or three minutes, this is what keeps me coming back again and again. They do have bars (yes, multiple!), of course. The drinks are creative, tasty, and not terribly expensive. I also appreciate that at no point during my visit did I feel compelled to order alcohol to play the games. Furthermore, at the time of my visit, they had a Shrek theme going in the bar in the back. It added to the fun atmosphere. That same night, there was a live DJ. While I am not a fan of loud music in a space which is already pretty loud, I appreciate that this is 100% a personal preference. Plus, I have hearing protection with me pretty much always, so it became a non-issue. I do want to point out that some of their machines could use a little bit of preventative maintenance checks and services. For example, one of the pinball machines had a stuck flipper, another a sticky flipper, and the Terminator 2: Judgment Day arcade game had an issue with the controllers (broken button on one, no vibration on another). However, since these are free, "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth" comes into play, and I don't feel right dinging them on it. Besides, I realize that mechanical devices are going to break. I recently got stuck in an elevator, so I would know! With all this, Replay Lincoln Park is phenomenal, and I can't wait to return on Friday nights to see if I can make myself into a pinball wizard. Replay does such a great job with decorations for pop ups. They are super detailed, it's truly impressive! However, their drinks are not great. Although the themed cocktails sound like they would taste amazing (per the description) they are not well made. We tried 3 different themed cocktails and we weren't a fan of any of them. They were really strong though but I wish we got more of the notes/flavors indicated in the description. read more

Tried to retrieve my card and close my tab before closing (1:45 when they close at 2) and the bouncer tried to not let me in and intimidate me. I went inside regardless, paid off my tab, got my debit card back and talked to the manager. The manager at the time apologized for the bouncer's behavior and said he would talk to him, but as I walked out, he was calling me names. Never had this type of experience as a customer anywhere else. Disappointing because I think this is a cool place but no one deserves to get bullied just because they want to get their card back. read more

Perfect place for some nostalgic 80's-style arcade games and pinball where you can also enjoy some drinks. It recaptures my childhood, but with the added bonus of beers. They even had Robotron and Burger time! Wish they had a Millipede, but at least they had Centipede! The Dig Dug joystick needed it a little maintenance when I was there, but that's was to be expected even back in the 80's.. and it's free play so who am I to complain! This bar is amazing! I love the themed rooms, usually one in the front and one in the back, the select free arcade games, and reasonably priced drinks. The themes when we went were That 70s Show in the front and Taylor Swift in the back. Because all the Swifties were out, it was super crowded, but we still got to enjoy ourselves. The themes are very well done and even the cocktails are named after popular Taylor Swift songs. Lots of great IG and photo taking opportunities. I enjoyed the free arcade games, esp the air hockey and pinball games. Some games required payment like skeeball and basketball, but otherwise there was plenty to do. Soo much fun! We walked to this spot after a game at Wrigley Field. They're super chill here and the guy working at the bar was super friendly. They have a great beer selection and they have a huge jug of ice water and cups on the end of the bar which made it super easy for us. I loved the decor and ambiance of this arcade, it was really imaginative. They have a ton of pinball machines and most of the classic games. Lots of the games were totally free which was so cool. We had a really great time. It was a Thursday night and we were there late. It wasn't busy at all at the time but I imagine it gets much busier over the weekend. Always a great time at Replay. I love idea of a rotating themed bar with a live dj. The music here is always a hit, there is always variety playing for everyone. The bartenders are attentive and in character with theme. The Fynn frozen drink was good! Im not a fan of frozen, and my friend wasn't aware when he ordered, but it was flavorful and easy to drink. We came here for my friends birthday to enjoy the nightmare before Christmas pop up. We made a reservation and they didn't have a table for us. We found out that the reservations were for a headcount and not for a table...that a table was first come first serve. The popup decorations were cool. In the nightmare before Christmas section, there was a game tournament for super smash (which was fun because I'm a gamer...but totally killed the vibe). Really fun arcade games. There was a table higher up with a monster with fake sandwiches and plates. The plates had actual salt on it...which kinda grossed out my friends and I. Haha. The specialty pop up drinks were already premade. There was only one bar tender, working Monday night, and didn't know what were in the specialty drinks. I explained that I can't have certain types of alcohol due to celiac. And he didn't know...so I just went with Casamigos and ginger beer (which hardly had any tequila...haha). I feel that's what turned off my friends and I...you're a bar tender and you don't know what are in the speciality drinks?! No food at the bar...but you can bring outside food in, which was nice. Such a big place went there for the bikini bottom SpongeBob pop up around 3:30pm so there wasn't that much people in there, but the vibe was really great, and who does not love SpongeBob! Replay is hands down one of my favorite adult arcade bars. I love how they change their theme in the back every month and a half or so - they've done Jurassic park, stranger things, Ghostbusters and so much more, and the drinks and food are normally on point with the theme, which is super cool. The games are free with the exception of skeeball and I think one other. The food is good and when there is a live DJ, it's definitely a good time. Entry is free but on the weekend at night it does get packed. read more

I used to frequent this bar when I lived in Chicago and would regularly go on the weekends and for emo nights. One night, me and my friend decided to go to celebrate a holiday, but knowing I had work the next day, I had one or two drinks as I know this would not affect me. While my friend was in the bathroom, a bouncer named Lalo, offered me and my other friend free shots but poured them in water cups. After taking these shots me and my friends decided to go to a different bar. My friend came out of the bathroom and Lalo did not realize that we had another friend with us and followed us to our Uber. My friend who did not take the shot yelled at him for following us and when he realized she was with us he ran away back inside. After getting in the uber I have no recollection of what happened as I was going in and out of consciousness passing out several times. Even when I was drunk I have never experienced something like this and I only had 2 drinks and 1 shot. When I reported that this happened to another bouncer at a later time, he told me we were on thin ice on being banned but didn't have an explanation why. The next time I went in with my friend for Bingo. They allowed me in the bar and shortly after, they had Lalo come and kick me out looking furious and telling me I was banned. I told him I would happily leave and not come back but I needed to get my friend who was not far and standing at the bar to leave he said "no she can stay." I told him not to put his hands on me as he was inching towards my and I yelled my friends name and she saw me and we left. He not only stared at me when we were waiting for the uber from inside through the glass door, but we crossed the street and stood on the corner due to feeling uncomfortable and he walked out and stared at me from across the street finally going in when we got in the uber. I have never gotten an explanation on why I was banned but I don't need one because I never want to go back there. The only reason we went back after that night was to see a worker there we knew. This place is not safe, especially for women. read more

This bar is a lot bigger than I expected and it's cool that they have many pop up themes throughout the year. They also have arcade games in here, and I'm so sad because I didn't realize these were free until right now! I guess I have to be back! When I came a couple weeks ago, they were having an IT pop up in the larger downstairs area of the bar and it was very cool and not as busy as I would have thought on a weekend night. The drinks were themed with the movie and the rum punch I had was very good, but the bartenders all made them differently... even the same bartender made my rum punch different both times I drank it, which was annoyingly inconsistent. I LOVED the first one, while the second one was more strong, and it was disappointing to me, but still okay to drink. Upstairs, they had a Parks and Rec pop up, and I don't watch that show, but my boyfriend and our friends do and they said it was really cool and themed to the show. They had live music the day we went. The only annoying thing was that this specific part of the bar is smaller than the main floor, and it was extremely busy and it felt like 100 degrees. Not like the bar can control that, and they obviously love how busy it is. Overall, definitely a cool place to check out in Lincoln Park. read more

A very Harry winter is why I went to replay haha. Awesome atmosphere and they did a great job with the decor. Loved the additions of movie scenes playing throughout the bar on the tv screens. Replay is a fun brewcade that not only peaks your interest by organizing multiple pop ups per year - they also differentiate from other brewcades by offering their arcade games (or should I say gems) for free! During a pop up, the bar goes all-in on decorating and changing the menu to fit the theme. In this case, the Rick and Morty pop up didn't disappoint (Pickle Rick shots or Portal fluid, anyone?). Writing this review to shout out Megan. She was straw-tasting for quality control, her drinks looked and tasted great. She was fast, she got to us after we waited for a WHILE (it was packed and as a food service worker, I get it), and honestly she just looked like she gave a shit (hard to find in a lot of bars and even harder to find on a packed Saturday night).
