Industry Gastro Lounge We chose Industry Gastro Lounge for our quarterly business lunch since it's close to the office and I'd been here once before (a couple of years ago). I was a little concerned it might be too noisy, but it wasn't busy at all during lunch. That said, the service didn't quite match the slower pace. Our server was friendly, but not very efficient. For example, when taking our drink orders, it would have been a good time to ask about appetizers. Instead, drinks arrived and she assumed we were ready to order entrées. Thankfully, my boss asked about appetizers before we skipped that step. We tried the Sampler Tray (fried pickles, boneless wings, cheese curds, and southwestern egg rolls) along with brussels sprouts, which weren't listed on the menu. Unfortunately, none of it stood out--everything was edible but just average. For my entrée, I went with the Philly Cheesesteak and fries. Coming from someone who has eaten the "real deal" in Philadelphia (Pat's, Geno's, Tony Luke's), I admit I'm biased, but this version didn't come close. Like most Midwest spots, they offered provolone or swiss instead of Whiz, which for me makes all the difference. Others at the table mostly went with salads, and one ordered wings (which looked fine, though he dipped them in ranch instead of blue cheese--personal pet peeve!). The space itself is a nice sports-themed venue with plenty of TVs, making it a decent hangout spot if that's what you're after. But as far as the food goes, I was hoping for more from a "gastro pub." Came on a Sunday night at 8pm we got seated very quickly and our waitress Paris had such a great attitude about her! Me and my husband came in last week and had Chloe as our server and honestly, she was amazing. She was so friendly, attentive, and genuinely made our meal feel special. I have passed by the Industry Gastro Lounge many times before, and when I finally did, it was a disaster. I went out on the patio with my dog to drink some beer, watch a game, and grab a bite to eat on a lazy Sunday afternoon. When I got there, the young waitress came and I asked if they could get the TV working and turn the music down, since it was blaring. Throughout the meal, I brought it up more than five times and she said she would look into it. She never updated me on the situation and just ignored it all together (that is why i was there). When the waitress came to take my order, I asked what kind of IPAs they had and she said she didn't know, and that she'd have to go look. She came back with a list of 7 beers and after I selected one, she went back to go get it. Instead of bringing me the beer I ordered she came back and said that they did not have any beer that afternoon on tap. The taps were broken earlier in the day and I asked then why did you bring me a list of beers on tap when she knew they weren't serving any. No response. "I'll just take a bottle of Coors then." How was the food? I am still recovering from the excitement of the culinary masterpiece of an "okay" burger and fries. I asked to speak with the manager at the end and the managerial prowess on display was truly inspiring. Deflecting all responsibility with a casual "That's on her"? Pure genius! It really paints a vivid picture of their stellar operational standards. And the grand finale? A complimentary burger, how generous! But of course, the $6.50 liquid gold Coors remained. We've been here twice and both times menu description was an accurate for food. I previously ordered a chicken bowl with shredded chicken and it was large chunks of chicken instead. Then yesterday I got a wedge salad and it was covered in onions and a balsamic glaze , which wasn't on the description of the item on the menu. Don't mind the balsamic glaze but the onions ruined it for me, even after picking them out the salad tasted like onions. They did take this off of our ticket. I don't drink but the bar was very busy. The music was too loud for me, but just because I had a headache. Very loud bass. Server was nice. Not her fault the menu and items that came out didn't match. My husband got the handover burger and he liked it. But complained about his beer saying he could tell the line was dirty. My son and my husband both complained about their fries, one got curly and the other sweet potato and they complained that they tasted weird. We shared chips and queso, which didn't look like much but were tasty, and the salsa was fresh with a pleasant kick. We tried the shrimp tacos with a side of brussel sprouts as well as the Lopez sandwich with a side of fried okra - it was all good, though the portions were pretty small (probably 1/2 cup okra, 8-ish brussel halves). I enjoyed a draft Mango Cart but was disappointed to see so few local beers on the list. My dad enjoyed his Black and Bleu Burger and the 4 onion rings it came with. Industry is a fun place with lots of TVs for sports and good music. This location has some great employees but also some that are more concerned with their social media profiles than the restaurant's guests. On more than one occasion, my husband and I have had to either raise our hands, that's me, or ask the manager to get our drink. All the while we are watching the bartenders taking selfies together with the wooden background at the end of the bar, gathering and talking, or even just chatting with the GM while we wait. I tried to have this conversation with the owner this afternoon but I waited two hours. I waved him down and let him know I was still waiting and got the one finger motion which let me know I was not important. My husband and I were regulars and spends a lot there weekly.
