Well it has been quite a while since we have been here. So as we were doing a family drive around we decided to stop and get some drinks and grub at Fassler Hall. We sat outside because our dog, our baby. They gave her a huge bowl of ice cold water which she hailed as wonderful! It hit the spot where it cooled her down. We ordered the famous pretzel and it never fails. Sooooo good with the beer cheese and house mustard. A definitely repeat every time because of its freshness and soft pinch-able bread to dip in. We also ordered a basic plain hotdog for our dog. Hotdogs are her favorite. For drinks we ordered the German Tart and Mango twist. The tart was just that nothing overpowering but you could really tingle the taste buds with the "bear trap" (German translation) honey liqueur. The mango drink was yummy tropical flavored. Sadly since we were outside the drink got watered down quickly and became a drink just to wet the mouth. We decided to order the hunter sausage and brunch serving burrito. It was huge in size and fully packed. It was tasty but the sausage was a touch too spicy and made my wife's sinuses kick off. As for the hunter sausage i was disappointed in it. First it came in a bun but that wasn't mentioned on the menu. Then the mixture of venison, buffalo and pork sounds good on paper but not in reality. The mixture ended up muting all the favors to where it was pretty bland and required dipping in the house mustard. Because of that I was still hungry and ordered the sample platter with the lamb, hatch chili and chedderwurst. My mouth became immediately happy again with each having a robust flavor. I highly recommend the sampler to determine what you like so in the future you can get a flavorful sausage that meets your tongue pallet. My favorite was the hatch chili. It had some heat but not overpowering so my mouth could taste it and more. Then I liked the lamb as, let us face it lamb is just a good lean meat. The cheddarwurst was also good but not that adventurous. Our dog loved the treatment she received and the yummy food. She is a food critic in her own right! I really enjoyed my time at this place, and I think it could be a great spot for anyone looking to hang out with friends or family. Let me start off by saying without this one employee I would've gave this five stars! Down at dust bowl everybody is always so kind and welcoming, and I love you guys's happy hour. But this one employee made me want to give you guys a one star but I just can't do it. I literally love giving small business businesses great reviews. I love building our community. I asked a bartender in Fasslers if he had a cold glass, I could pour a beer into. When he didn't have one I made a comment about it being a little early. I was totally just teasing. THE BIG: German Beer Hall located in the heart of downtown OKC. Indoor and outdoor table benches available with TVs adorning the bar and exterior. Plenty of street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came with my high school friend that I haven't seen in two years and we tore this place up! It was choose your own table and seat, while the waiters were very quick to bring menus and water. We were starving and ordered the sausage combo which came with three sausages. They make all of their sausages in house and they were good. I had one sausage that was very dry that kind of put me off. For other apps, we got the giant pretzel with mustard and cheese dipping sauce. Then a side of fries, which turned out to be an entire tray. We also got their beers, which is great and reminded me of Germany. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall damage done was around $100 for quite the feast. Plenty of tables inside and outside for large groups. We got the Duck Fat Fries, Chicken Biscuits and Gravy, and Chili Cheese Dog, all of which came in huge sharable portion sizes. Draft beer lineup is very impressive and comes in half liter pours and full liter pours in glass steins. They also have a full bar well equipped with various spirits, cocktails, wine, canned/bottled beers/seltzers/non-alcoholic beers, and mocktails. Fabulous food, inventive drinks and great service and atmosphere here. The big pretzel is a must to share as an appetizer and the beer cheese that comes with it is out of this world good. I've never had better sauerkraut or mustard than what I tried here and I honestly can't wait to come back. The brat sampler is a great way to get a taste of various flavors and the portions here are large and shareable. I went with a group and we all loved our drinks. I'm especially appreciative of the gin options in their cocktails since that is my favorite spirit. We were even able to bring our baby with us too since we went before 7pm. This is a terrific venue for large parties or just a couple of friends hanging out. With indoor and outdoor seating you can bring your children and have the room everyone needs. There's an outdoor stage as well which indicates live entertainment. The indoor bar area is very large and stocked with many tvs to watch your favorite sports. We visited to attend a football watch party in December that had about 30-40 people of all 'ages and stages'. While service was a bit slow (shift change?) we did enjoy chatting with new friends while we attempted to get the attention of servers passing by. Our food and drink arrived (by a new server!) and was good. The only negative was that the fries were underseasoned and not warm.... Beer was good and the sandwiches were good though. read more

I found ordering a bit tough to navigate as I didn't realize you seat yourself and then order at the bar. I came here on a Friday night to have some drinks with friends. My husband and his friend had beer that they enjoyed but could not order in a boot. His friend's wife had a cider that she enjoyed and I ordered cocktails that weren't the best, but you wouldn't expect them to be great at a beer bar like this. There was taxidermy on the walls. There was wooden bench seating that was rather uncomfortable but did create a nice German ambience. This is a really cool bar/restaurant/bowling alley. We held a small meeting there. It's happy hour which was really nice. Our waiter was great. We told him there would be more people were coming and we wanted some appetizers to share. He told us that the downstairs area had a better menu for large groups to share. We went down and got us the menus and he was right. We got a huge platter of several different fried foods. We had cheese sticks, chicken nuggets, tater tots, taquitos and egg rolls. Billy was a great server, especially considering it's a fairly large bar that gets busy. Atmosphere is great with wooden tables throughout, a long bar and spacious patio. Food is straightforward, simple but solid. They recently began fresh breading their schnitzel which was a welcome change. Brats here are yummy. House mustard is nice and creamy but heavy on the vinegar, so a little goes a long way. Duck fat fries are fresh cut but on the limp side. Double cheeseburger was the only disappoinment, it just lacked any beefiness or much flavor. Though kids are allowed, it doesn't feel very family-friendly. However, they do have other food options such as salads, sandwiches, rotisserie chicken, and giant Bavarian pretzels. I had a cranberry ntrl and pretzel. The pretzel was just okay, it was $12 but definitely not worth the price for some bread. My pretzel was accompanied with mustard and gouda cheese dip. Both the dips were just so-so. I would come back to hangout since it's a large area with ample seating. I like how they have their own parking lot in the back as well. The place is more like American food made to look German. I had a dry schnitzel sandwich with a side order of fries which about 1/6 was very over cooked to the point of almost burned. This is one of my favorite places to spend time with people I love. They host bingo and trivia some nights and also have live music on weekends. It's huge and feels extremely spacious with a view. I feel like you can drink for much cheaper than most places in midtown and the service is always great. If you go downstairs you can go bowling at dust bowl and Fassler also does offer the dust bowl food menu too. Would not recommend this place due to the people that seem to hang out here. A couple with 2 children picking a fight with elderly people simply because the elderly people sat at one of the larger tables beside them? Not an environment I want to be in again. Michael and I went up to OKC for his Putnam City High School Class of 1994 - 30 year Reunion today. We had a chance to catch the end of the school tour with Coach Hardesty and then had a couple of stops to make before going to Fassler Hall OKC for the evening portion of the reunion. It was great to see so many friends and have some great food from our first trip to Fassler. Michael and I had a chance to try the sausage sampler, a side of duck fat fries(which could have used some sort of dip), and the pretzel bread pudding with Bavarian Cream sauce(OMG! That bread pudding was lobbying for a place in the "Who needs a man club!") The lamb sausage had quite a bit of heat(could have used a cooling sauce for that), the hunter sausage had a great flavor, and the traditional bratwurst was yummy with some brown mustard, the homemade sauerkraut was a nice touch. Michael had a rootbeer, and I had a bartender recommended Strawberry Sol(another one knocking on the door to the who needs a man club). For a German bar, it was a good first experience since my husband and I had never been to one before. We look forward to adding this to our OKC Munchies category of places to recommend to people. I will most definitely be back to Fassler! We arrived just as happy hour was ending on a Friday night date night. Asked where we should order our food and a passing server said the bar... It was sorta busy so we opted to find a seat on the patio overlooking downtown. The sun was about to set and quickly we were acknowledge by a tall thin man who was eager to accommodate us and took our order promptly. He brought waters with straws and within 20 minutes we were being feed. Our night was a couples only and he certainly made sure of that. Was never hovering but there when we needed him.
