We've used Republic for many years and have been very pleased with the service. Very seldom do we have a problem with pickup - maybe a delay when we have snow or ice. Terrible company stay away from them at all costs. They damaged our mailbox back on May 27th and we reported it. The local manager came out confirmed the damage and reviewed the their truck's video recording and heard the impact and the driver tell the other employee they hit it. The local manager said that they would repair the damage within a couple weeks. Fast forward to now, we have spent the past 3 months calling Republic Services every other week and they finally put in a claim to their insurance company last week and to only have it denied since it has been so long and they deleted the video and now that manager is denying everything even though we have a recorded voicemail from him. read more

I've lost track of the times my large blue republic trash can, that sits under a street light has been missed or left half full. My brother pays for this service so I didnt know until recently how bad it was. Starting off, INSANE price hike. We agreed to paying somewhere between 35 and 40 a month. That very quickly raised to 70. And funny enough, its not monthly. There will be months where we get billed up to 3 times in a single month for our "monthly rate". Worst of all though is when you need bulk pickup. When scheduling it we were told its 45 dollars per flatbed truck to come pick it up, with many, MANY additional charges based on the trash. Ex: if you need them to pickup leaves its a charge. Electronics is a charge. Wood? Charge. Plus additional charges based on what you used to bag the trash. My fairly simple pickup of a mattress, record player, and 4 plastics bags full of leaves came out to over 300 fuckin dollars. Customer service was able to lower it to 90, but based on her reaction its a problem that must happen a lot. The scummy underhandedness of this company is astonishing. If you plan to use this service, make sure to FREQUENTLY check your account for extra charges and changes in the amount. You will likely have to call customer support more than you would a close relative. Having to fix this companies screw ups while getting ripped off is an awe inspiring business model read more

Absolutely disgusting company. Repeated examples of leaving my cans in the middle of my driveway so that I can't pull in. They consistently sent "nasty notes" to us about how we place our trash in the can. No matter what I did, I continued to get notes. They raised rates without notice by nearly 30% and didn't allow me to cancel service before I was charged. I never signed a contract nor agreed to terms since they bought BSS. But they charged me an absolutely ridiculous fee for can pickup. They're attempting to 1) charge a fee that I was not made aware of and 2) charge a fee to remove their property off my property. This company is not responsive to a missed pickup for recycling. I reported the missed pickup online last Thursday and then was told Friday when I called that they were on the way. No pickup Friday. No pickup Saturday. I reported online again late Saturday. I called Monday and was told I shouldn't have reported it again because that re-sets pickup to Tuesday. It is Tuesday and I am still waiting for pickup from missed pickup last Thursday. My recycle bin is full after two weeks, so it has to be emptied every two weeks. How is this company still in business? They recently took over trash pick up in my area. My mother has called them twice and twice has been treated with the worst customer service imaginable. Customer service rep, Jose, was rude and demeaning both times. My mom asked to speak to his manager and HE REFUSED. My mom said, " I would like to speak to your manager," to which he responded, "No you don't." He fussed at her for "interrupting" when she tried to ask a question. He aggressively responded "Stop interrupting! I am not finished taking!" She was simply trying to clarify what he was saying. Absolutely unacceptable. This is after they took weeks to deliver her new trash can and failed to inform her when her pick up day is. We are paying for this and are treated with rudeness and disrespect. Wish I could give them less than a 1 but 1 is as low as you can go. Our business cancelled their service on 1/23/2024 and the last bill we received had charges of $106 for February. I removed those charges since we cancelled in January and had another company in place for February. They have called multiple times trying to collect for services after we cancelled. The last three times I have paid they have deposited by check but then send me late notices saying I haven't paid. Multiple calls to the office and they "can't find" my payment event though it has cleared on their end. They suspend service and stop picking up my garbage even after I provide proof of payment. My experience today has been unbelievable. 1st the driver dumps trash on the road and runs it over. I stop him after he passes it twice and asked why he would do that he explains he can't see what he's doing.
