However,that didn't discourage me from using them as a valuable resource. Recently I was taking down a new pool filter that I'd never cleaned before. The drain was a large 4" PVC cap that I had nothing in the tool box that would open it . Initially I headed for Home Depot when it occured to me,Harbor Freight may have a more cost effective solution. Bingo! Not only did the " oil filter" wrench for $9.99 do the trick but,it was invaluable when I reassembled the filter housing and needed a certain leverage on the clamp. This gives me confidence that if you shop smart with an idea of the outcome you need, Harbor Freight is likely to have a low priced solution.

When we call them up, they refuse to do anything about it because 90 days has been past. I wouldn't buy any generator or anything valuable from Harbor Freight ever again. Their product is not high quality and broken down only after 4 months. Expect to be ignored after 90 days or your warranty has been expired and you left alone with an expensive piece of junk.

Bad experience with kitchen appliance purchases…read more I was finally in a position to purchase new kitchen appliances, so I went to Lowe's to check out the deals, since I had seen an ad advertising free delivery, parts, set-up and haul-away for Lowe's members, as well as increasing discount percentages for each additional appliance purchased. I found the appropriate appliances with good help and advice from a man in the appliance department and then was handed off to another associate to get price and delivery information. As we went through the process, adding each appliance, I saw the free items populating on the screen and kept asking about it, if the deal I mentioned was right. He said yes it was and that those charges would come off at the end of the process. I repeatedly asked to make sure about the deal and when I was repeatedly assured it was I felt confident I wouldn't do much better elsewhere and decided to make the purchase, to the tune of about $3000. I got my receipt and was distracted due to my kids being with me, so I didn't look over the receipt until a few days later when the first two of the three appliances were delivered. I then noticed that all the supposedly free charges were still on the receipt, to the tune of $365. I went in to the Lowe's where I made the purchase and explained everything. The employee who I was talking to said they should be able to make it right, but after talking to his manager, he came back and said they were sorry they couldn't do anything about it. I asked if I would just have to eat the $365 they told me I wouldn't have to pay in the first place, and he said yes. I said, so you aren't even going to meet me halfway or anything? I reiterated that the salesman had said the deal was correct and that the charges would come off the total, to which he dryly replied, "people make mistakes, you should have read the fine print." I then said, "I guess I'll be shopping at Home Depot from now on." He shrugged and walked away. It is hard to believe that a company as big as Lowe's would not do at least something to make this situation right. I am now shopping at Home Depot and elsewhere for all my home and work needs.
