This place is more than a beautiful local coffee shop!! This place became my second home. In May 2025, I walked into Rescate for the first time to study for my MCAT. I was dealing with terrible allergies, stressed out, exhausted, and honestly doubting myself every day. As a first-generation college student navigating this exam on my own, the pressure felt overwhelming. I spent nearly every day at this café during the month leading up to my exam. One day, the owner noticed I was falling asleep while studying. Anthony came over and offered me a coffee just to help me get through the day. From that point on, Anthony and Brenda constantly encouraged me and supported me throughout my journey! They showed me so much love, kindness, and consistency during a time when I truly needed it! Going into the exam, I struggled with major imposter syndrome and genuinely didn't believe I would do well. However, the day before, Brenda and Anthony created a gift basket with encouraging notes and snacks. Little did they know, that basket and their kind words gave me the courage to walk into that exam room the following day. Some coffee shops sell coffee. Places like Rescate offer love and care to their customers!!They are more than a coffee shop. Fast forward to today, I will be attending the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA! Stopped at Rescate Coffee for the first time. I was in the area getting gas and was excited to see a local coffee shop close by that wasn't Starbucks. I usually always get a latte but saw they had a snickerdoodle latte and had to try it as I'm a huge fan of snickerdoodle cookies. I was nervous and hoping my drink wouldn't be super sweet and I was so happy to take the first sip and taste beautiful classic snickerdoodle notes without it being syrupy and sweet. It tasted so comforting and delicious. I also opted to get a blueberry scone and it was a bit sweet for my palate but still super tasty. Service was also great. Amazing spot, nice and comfy. It's a very cozy spot. You can't sit outside but right now it's a little chilly but they do have a couple of plush seating tables. The coffee is really good. I have been passing this place for a number of months now and I finally came out last Friday with one of my friends. Immediately when we walked in, we were graded. It was pretty busy in there so there was really nowhere to sit inside, but we were accommodated with the outdoor seating. I can definitely see myself coming back to this place because it's so warm and cozy and I can tell that it's an environment that I would just love to just sit and sip a cup of coffee alone or even have a friend or two join me. This is such a cutesies cafe to grab a cup of joe and studying/work. The space is very clean, lots of indoor and outdoor seating, and the music adds a homey atmosphere. All of the wood in and around the store really creates the vibe of a cozy cabin. There's also plenty of seating outside to embrace the fresh air and it's a bit quieter since it's away from the coffee machine and music. The baristas are very attentive and friendly. They are great at giving suggestions and accommodating customers' preferences. Drinks are made very quickly. Immediately noticed how busy they were, however, it was never uncomfortably packed. A lot of service workers nearby came in and out for a quick cup of coffee. I love how regulars are greeted by name. Online orders are prepared swiftly and almost always ready for pickup, impressive. The drink I tried is called the Xocolatl Cereza which is essentially a Cherry Mocha. It is served iced, which I mention because at this cafe certain drinks ONLY come iced or hot. Anyways, the cherry flavor is very intense and tastes really artificial. The espresso is strong and the chocolate flavor in the mocha is balanced. Very interesting drink, I enjoyed it, but I would not get it again. They also offer a wide variety of pastries and even savory foods that can fill you up like sandwiches. The strawberry cream croissant was yummy! Not too sweet, buttery and flaky! Perfect snack to pair with my coffee as I got some work done. I definitely want to come back for the vibes and to try more coffee drinks!! The only reason why I am leaving a 4 star review is because two baristas were flirting profusely, touchy PDA, and cussing loudly-- Obviously, I tried to ignore it. No skimping on the flavorings including the added sugar; it tasted just like a strawberry cream chocolate from See's Candies but with dark chocolate. Food at a coffee house not so great! Avacado toast with bacon was disappointing. It was supposed to have cucumbers, but they ran out. Avacado was a smeared version instead of sliced avacados. Halfed cherry tomatoes placed on top. It was one slice of untoasted sour dough bread. Service- place your order at the counter and boxed meal brought to table. Ambiance- very small place that was filled with lots of comfy sitting areas inside and some tables outside. I've driven by this shop many times but didn't stop in til today. The specialty drinks menu has some crafty drinks. I ordered a large Zoot Suit (Mexican chocolate/white chocolate). First sip was a bit sweet, but a couple of sips later, I think it was just perfect. Staff very friendly. Brought drink out to me. Staff are very accommodating, asked another customer if temperature of drink was hot enough. I stopped in at 4:30 on a Tuesday. Good traffic still even though it was close to closing time. I stopped into Rescate Coffee after placing a to-go order next door at Gai 'N Rice. I love trying new coffee shops and this location has been on my list to try for a while. The inside is such a vibe, it's warm and welcoming and the staff definitely match this energy. They offer a wide variety of coffee and tea options, as well as some bites. I was overwhelmed by the menu choices and fought off the urge to buy more than one drink... I could have walked out with a whole flight of options! I ended up asking the staff what their favorites were and they talked me into trying the Zoot Suit, a mexican chocolate and white chocolate coffee. It was delicious, and just the energy burst I needed to get through the rest of my errands and meetings for the day. This little plaza is a bit hidden, but they have easy parking and with Gai 'N Rice and Rescate right next to one another I have a lot of reasons to come back for more yumminess! Today I decided to support the locals vs going to Starbucks. I checked this place out while at the car wash next door. I saw they had Vietnamese coffee. When ordering my coffee they asked me had I been there before? I said it was my first time and she explained how their Vietnamese coffee is served. Pretty much a cup of ice 3 shots of espresso. Which was perfectly fine and I was aware. Even though I got a disclaimer on what to expect, I was still blown back by my cup of coffee not because it was full of ice. But because it wasn't sweet at all! If they added the proper amount of sweetened condensed milk their coffee drink would look presentable and not questionable. read more

Both items for under $10 I'm checking out the space for a coffee meetup and the only suitable space for a large group is outside. The outdoor seating area is located about 50 yards from the car wash next door so there is a lot of loud noise and loud talking and a little overspray of water! i love rescate the coffee is so yum, it's just so hit or miss depending on which barista you get. Once i got it a bit too sweet where i couldn't taste much coffee just sweetness (zoot suit) and then the next it was perfect (tuxedo) to my liking. I tried their honey bear latte and it was also quite coffee tasting and lacked sweetness but honey is also such a light taste. Rescate is a solid option if you don't want to drive across town for coffee. The drinks all tend to taste pretty similar no matter what you order, but the staff is friendly overall. The tall white guy working there can be a little slow at times, and they could definitely improve their customer appreciation. One time my drink was made hot instead of iced, and when I asked for a remake, it tasted watered down afterward. It also goes hand in hand with another review mentioning they didn't want to remake a drink after it was dropped on the floor right outside, which says a lot about how they handle customer service issues. read more

Finally made a pit stop at Rescate because I've recently been on a matcha binge. Saw that they had a CA Stare Fair ribbon award winning strawberry rose matcha, so I had to try it!! It did not disappoint!!! There was strawberry jam at the bottom and rose petals on top. I left my matcha in the car while I stopped at the grocery store and when I got back the rose petals infused into my drink. The hint of rose and taste of strawberry was delicious!! The music and decor are thoughtfully curated and there's a real sense of culture and intention behind the space. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside. Outside, there are several tables shaded by trees, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Inside, there are tables, a sofa, and additional armchairs, which make it a great spot to settle in. I occasionally come here to work and I really appreciate that they offer free WiFi and even have a printer available. The butter croissant is delicious. It's soft, flaky, and full of flavor. This time, I had it as part of a sandwich, paired with their El Toro coffee. The cinnamon in the coffee was perfectly balanced and it had just the right amount of kick to start the day. Next time, I'm planning to try their pistachio latte, which I've heard amazing things about. In addition to their breakfast menu, they also have a wide variety of grab and go items.
