After this trip I'm a big fan of Residence Inns. Even if you don't need or use the kitchen it's just so nice to have a larger living space during your stay. The rooms come with a dishwasher, full size fridge, microwave, and stove. They have pots/pans, plates/bowls, and silverware. Breakfast in the morning is standard, but sufficient and decent. Water place for kids did not work. Many kids were upset. Pool was open. So that was nice.

Let me start by saying I love EVERYTHING about this place, EXCEPT the beds The beds are like sleeping on a concrete surface with a thin foam pad on top. No matter how my husband and I tossed and turned, the bed was uncomfortably hard. Simply put, we couldn't sleep and, ultimately, that's what we needed, a place to sleep. The breakfast is great, the pool is lovely, the people are outstanding. The room layout and amenities are just grand, but I can't stay there again unless they get sleep able beds! read more

Attacking birds walking into the hotel, limited parking that is taken up by broken down cars, building attic vents are broken and birds are living in the attic space right above the swimming pool... just waiting for bird poop to leak through into the water your kids are swimming in. How the manager here still has a job is beyond me. I have relocated to Helena and this has been our temporary housing. We have been here 30 days and nothing has been fixed. I see people everyday covering their head running for the entrance from the dive bombing birds. I leave at 6 am and get attacked and when I get home at 4, same thing. The house keeping staff and the reception staff are amazing. Rooms are great also. The only reason for the crappy review is laziness on management. All of these problems could have been taken care of in a day or two. read more

I had to go visit a client in Helena, and we decided to stay here. It was a great choice because its a relatively new hotel, and they have very nice amenities. They offer a complimentary airport shuttle, free wifi , a fully equipped kitchen, a couch/sofabed, fitness center, pool and complimentary buffet breakfast. I had a one bedroom suite, so I had a TV in the living area and in the bedroom. I was only in town for one night, so I didn't get to make use of the fully equipped kitchen. If I went to the grocery store, I could've cooked dinner. There were pots, pans, plates...the whole shebang. The buffet breakfast was one of the best I've had in a hotel. Back in the day, hotels would just have continental breakfasts. But now its a full fledged meal. There was sausage, bacon, eggs, bagels, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, and a bunch of other stuff I can't even remember. They even had cups for you to take coffee to go. I'll definitely be staying here again for my next trip to Helena. read more

Our visit started out great. It was my daughter's 6th birthday. We reserved the room over a month ago & spoke with staff regarding party. We were told people book rooms to have parties ALL the time. When our guests arrived the front desk lady Carmen approached me & asked if any more guests were coming because we we were over our limit. We were never told there was a limit but I let her know everyone had arrived. Kids were having a blast! We were told we couldn't have food in pool area so we staged food in room & guests go back n forth. When it was time to sing happy birthday we carried cake over to light candles & celebrate the little one turning 6. Instantly Carmen showed up yelling that we couldn't have food at the pool. I explained that we were only singing. The cake would be cut in the room & guests would eat in room. She preceded to be extremely unprofessional. She yelled so loud kids were crying & all of their parents were extremely uncomfortable. My daughter was heartbroken on her 6th birthday. We took the cake to the room & Carmen came to the room to confront me. My mom & friend we at the door & she threatened them. I'm blown away! I've never experienced anything like this & have stayed at hotels all over the country. Carmen is the most unprofessional staff member I've ever encountered at any hotel. Sometimes when your day is a disaster you get lucky at the end of it. Today we got lost in Montana AND almost ran out of gas. Both rookie moves. Then when we were ready to throw in the towel on this road trip from hell we saw a big beautiful building across from the Helena airport. Checking in with the help of a wonderful woman named Silver was a breeze and when we saw our room we were blown away. Huge. Comfy mattresses are always the most important thing. These were cloud like. If I can't sleep in my own comfy bed, I want to be HERE! This is a very new property and it is lovely. I had a one bedroom with a king-sized bed. It is designed to make you feel like you are at home and they hit every mark. Walk in the door and your 'living room' is straight ahead with a well-stocked kitchen and small dining table off to the side. There is a comfy desk and ergonomic chair if you have to work. Or lounge on the sofa and watch TV. They've thought of all the little details, like when you walk in the door, there is a hook right there to hang your car keys and another for your coat. Step into the bedroom and you just can't help but feel relaxed. Comfy bed and linens with real down pillows. Another TV so you can watch in bed. Then walk past the closet into the bathroom. Nice toiletries if you need them, plenty of drawer and counter space and a good shower with nice water pressure. Great pool, outside fireplace and also a Viking gas grill for your BBQ needs. In the lobby....another fireplace, plenty of seating either on couches or tables & chairs. Here in the morning is a complimentary breakfast that can't be beat. Eggs, Canadian bacon, potatoes, hot and cold cereals, waffles, toast, bagels, coffee, juices - fill up and start the day with a smile on your face. Then, do your best to get back around 6. That's when the happy hour starts, and it's more than just some appetizers - essentially a free dinner right there waiting for you til 7:30. After that, sit around the fire and chill, you can even pick a game out and play Scrabble, Monopoly, cards - you get the picture. I stayed at the hotel for 4 days and 3 evenings. The location and amenities were great, great breakfast and socials. Kathy and the staff were amazing in the completion of breakfast and social's everyday. The room was turned over perfectly during my stay by Chris and Alicia. The front desk staff that included Mo and Angie were extremely helpful, polite and professional. Great amenities included the fitness center and various pools. Overall the visit was great and that was based on the attention provided by the staff. Rooms on the south side quieter and 3rd level. Great EV policy in place as they have wonderful friendly policy. I reserve great for the truly great, so this place was as close as you can get to that without being truly great. Covid complicates the travel experience, and the friendly staff handled that well. Rooms spacious and clean. Public spaces not so spacious, but also clean. We stayed for over a month because we had a house fire. I wish I could live there. I have to thank the front desk staff, housekeeping, the kitchen staff, maintenance, and last but not least management. The beds are so comfy and the rooms were very very clean. They have a great pool area and Patio with BBQ. It was the best stay ever. I will definitely be returning. They even let me have my pets. Those who are complaining about the hundred dollar pet fee get over yourself. They use that money to hire someone to come in to clean the rooms so that it is ready for someone else to stay in the room in case they are allergic to pets. That room had to be cleaned a specific ways to get rid of the pet dander. I think $100 is a fair amount. As I said before we stayed an entire month maybe a little over. We made some great friends while staying there this includes the staff and other guests who had been living at the hotel. I will definitely stay there again. read more

"Easily the nicest hotel in Helena" I've heard it been said and is not an overstatement. My team and I were in for a three night business trip. The hotel meeting room was not rented so the General Manager allowed the three of us to set up to work on our training and presentations. All the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Great option for anyone staying in Helena... very close to the airport, and they have a free shuttle that will both pick up and deliver you back to Helena Regional. Breakfast is the standard Marriott Residence Inn fare... eggs, sausage, waffles, muffins, etc. Wouldn't want to live on that, but can get by for a day or two. Great workout facility, large indoor pool. Really, a great value and a clean hotel. You will not go wrong at the Helena Residence Inn! read more

This hotel does not cater to the business traveling. I'm a Titanium Elite member and will be placing a formal complaint with Marriott regarding my experience with this hotel and its so-called management staff. If you're a long term stay and expect to be respectfully treated; it won't happen here. It's nearly impossible to have your room cleaned. I returned to the hotel on a particular day when the room was to be cleaned only to find the door partially open and the room unsecured. The room had only been partially cleaned. This was addressed with their management staff, to which nothing was done to correct the problem. The following week the room was again not cleaned, actually leaving some of the same areas untouched (microwave, shower, bathroom vanity, etc.) as the previous week. During this trip, I stayed at this hotel for almost three months. I think the bath tub might have been cleaned twice. That's just disgusting. One of the three washing machines was out of order for at least two months of the stay and the hot tub out of service for over a month. There is a white Cadillac sedan with flat tires sitting in the front parking lot. It's been there for over a year that I know of. I suppose if your staying here for a day or two, one might not notice how disgusting the place is and how poorly it's managed, but much longer of a stay and you'll wish you'd stayed somewhere else. As much as I have enjoyed the over 2000 nights (yeah I said 2000) in Marriott hotels, I won't be revisiting this place. This hotel needs the GM, Emmett Mathews, and several of the housekeeping staff replaced. Complete lack of professionalism and zero management skills. read more

Nice hotel for the price, free breakfast was great. The rooms are quite and comfortable. Giving 4 stars because there was hair in our shower and at the pool there was a big clump of hair on the floor like they had pulled it out of the drain and forgot to pick it up. read more

Great stay! We were at the hotel for 9 nights and could not ask for a better place to stay. Hotel and room was very clean. Super friendly staff in all departments. Cathy was great, works in the kitchen and housekeeping, always made sure we were well taken care of. Nice pool area, guest laundry, breakfast and fitness area. Loved that the hotel offers social activities three times a week, one of those being where the hotel grills out for you. I never give a 5 star but I have nothing to complain about.
