Not a bad hotel. The area was fantastic for walking to dinner across the parking lot. Check in at front and days before and at check-in I was told the staff prepped our room feather Free.... Down allergies family. Nope. Not the case. 2 pillows with feathers. Thankfully I double checked. Thankfully we travel with EpiPens. If in the area I might book elsewhere. It just seemed to be missing the Marriott touch in my perspective. The few other blemishes - carpet nail in floor on way to bathroom. Found out by going barefoot into the bathroom late at night. Surprisingly nice and more upscale than Joplin usually offers. Yet the prices were better than some of the other brands I normally use. If I had known how nice this was I would have recommended it more to vendors and family alike. Large comfortable rooms with a kitchenette and the room we had included a separate living room. It is a perfect place to be comfortable if you're staying for an extended period like business travelers, or if you have family members with you and need a little space. read more

The front desk was very nice. Our room was spacious and clean. It had two queen beds and a pull out bed. There was an air purifier too. It had a full kitchen. There are restaurants in walking distance. We had carryout from Cheddars. So good. The hotels breakfast had eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, fruit oat meal and more. The gym was awesome. Mats, lots of weights and work out benches. Kettle bells, bikes and treadmills. I would stay here again. read more

This was such a delightful overnight stay. We were impressed with the facility overall and our room was so comfy. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hot breakfast was quite impressive even up to the selection of teas and coffees. All for an affordable price. But to top it off when we received a tornado warning the staff was fabulous in guiding the guests to a safe shelter within the building and keeping us informed until the danger had passed. Without a doubt, this Residence Inn is where we will stay anytime we pass this way again. read more

We stayed here (Residence Inn) last week and it was GREAT. The property was very nice and clean. The people that work there, were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was SUPER, and the ladies that ran it were top notch. It was a great stay, with one exception. They charge $3.00 to park per day, but you have to fight the people from the restaurant next door for parking spots. If I have to issue a beat down to someone, the parking should be FREE. read more

I stayed here last week and this week in between my travels from Texas to MInnesota. My parents and their dog have also stayed here twice. Alecks and Ory are absolutely the most amazing people and their hospitality is so genuine. The room was beautiful. Thank you so much for your service and for being so kind and welcoming. Decent hotel but a few issues: Laundry had 50% of washers out of service. Spa was out of service Pull out bed was broken (we made it work) Pull out bed had THE WORST MATTRESS IMAGINABLE. There are much better products available. Real people do use these things. read more

This hotel is clean and spacious with a friendly staff. We had a two room, king suite. The size of our suite was excellent. The Joplin Residence Inn is very well constructed. Our suite was on the 4th floor next to the elevator but our room was nice and quiet with no outside noise from the elevators or guests in the hallway. It was awesome. It's nice that Cheddar's Restaurant is practically in the same parking lot as the hotel. Breakfast in the morning was pretty good, I was a little disappointed there was no bacon on the morning that we were there, just sausage patties. I'm a fan of Residence Inn and I would definitely stay here again. read more

I really liked it here. The location is great and central to everything in Joplin, which was key for me. They offer mobile checkin, which I took full advantage of. It's so nice to not have to carry keys and worrying about them not working or losing them. What I loved? The room! It's spacious, modern and huge! I had a nice one bedroom that was perfect for me. I loved having a spacious balcony as well as a closed off bedroom and separate kitchen and living room. With all of the space the room offered, I could have brought two more people with me. The decor was totally modern and they thought of everything. They get bonus points for having more than enough outlets for modern travelers. The kitchen is stocked with everything you might need and you could stay here for a week without having to eat out. There is a full size fridge, dishwasher, sink and stovetop - perfect. My bed and linens were so comfortable, I didn't want to get up in the morning. I loved being able to set my own temperature so I was nice and toasty under the covers, but the room was freezing, just how I like it. The bathroom is large and there is ample counter space. No issues with water pressure and temp as well. Parking is free and there is more than enough. All in all, 4.5 stars. read more

Loved this Residence Inn. We checked in early and the desk clerk was super nice. Our room was a king studio with a living room and kitchen. Full sized fridge, microwave, stove top, large coffee pot and dinnerware. The room and bathroom were very clean. The bed was comfy. The hotel is located next to a Sam's Club, Olive Garden, Cheddars and lots of fast food restaurants. The lobby area is lovely. There were lots of breakfast options, hot and cold. The only negative thing is there is only 1 ice machine on the 1st floor, for the whole hotel. Our fridge did have an ice maker, but it only made a few cubes in 24 hours. Other than the ice issue, everything was wonderful. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant. read more

This is a nice hotel, conveniently located near many places. Very helpful staff. The only thing I would say is they need better communication with there housekeeping staff. Messages don't seem to transfer to the right people. And for a Marriott property, it is in desperate need of an upgrade. read more

This place is disgusting! When we checked in and went to our room it smelled horrible and there was pee in the toilet and hair everywhere so we went back to the front desk and told them and they switched us rooms and the next room didn't stink quite as bad but it needed vacuumed and there was something brown on the shower curtain that stunk horrible so I went back down and told them about the curtain and was told they would send somebody up to change it but nobody showed up! Yelp kind of failed me on this one. :( I picked this place bc it has great reviews, however ... my room is not so great. Everything in kitchen was dirty except the silverware... fridge, coffeemaker, even the ice container. There's a RIP in the fitted sheet and a huge rip in the bed duster. The porch is dirty with tree limbs, a cigarette butt, and huge bird turds. Tried up and nasty. Outside and inside of the windows are dirty. Kleenex box was super dusty. At reservation and online checkin, I ordered a roll-a-bed. The bed was not in the room at arrival. Someone put their big bag of trash in the hallway and left it! Who does that? Employee picked up thank goodness. Outdoor whirlpool is not working. I was looking forward to that. They have an I for one but I wanted to use the outdoor one. I wont stay here again. Pretty bummed. This is place is a nightmare!!! I lost everything I had in a house fire my insurance company placed me here. Local church groups brought clothing to me as I literally had nothing. I washed my clothing here then placed clothing into dryer . I never left my clothing unattended. Needless to say someone stole all my clothing from the dryer. I saw a man but thought he was retrieving clothing from another dryer. I advised the Manager and Kali the front desk assistant. Kali told me we're working on this then told me do not leave clothes unattended I was Appalled what the heck kind of answer is that? High crime and theft area. Don't waste your money. Crooked front desk! I am so mad! I went there to pay an animal fee for my mom and I handed the lady a credit card that I never use and she told me that it wasn't working so I handed her another one yet again one I never use and she handed it back to me saying it didn't work either which I knew was wrong so I called my cc company and they confirmed that my credit card was fine and they had not recieved an attempt for a charge so the lady rolled her eyes and went to a different machine and then magically my card worked. I asked her for a receipt and she said no that I would get it later after check out. I also asked multiple times if this was only for the dog fee and she reassured me that yes it was for the dog fee. My mom paid cash for the room. FFW to me checking my statement and boom one credit card was charged $250!!! The fee was 87! So what?! Why?? And now a week after seeing that charge I also have a charge of $87 on my other credit card that she swore didn't work! They better have video surveillance with sound! Don't ever pay cash because obviously they're pocketing the money from the company. read more

The hotel outside is nice and inside is your typical Residence Inn.. they do a good job. This place lost a few stars being the first time staying here and not wowed by the room. The AC seemed to be broken because it was 73 and we turned it down to 68 never hearing anything kick over. Placing my hand up to the ceiling it's like someone blowing a straw of cold air in which would take forever compared to what we have at home. Now we are laying in bed hoping that it might cool as the night goes on. Size wise the room is spacious is but does not look like it was fully cleaned. The bathroom doors do not lock cause the handles were not installed properly. Our room is right outside of the pool which I did not look at the rules but seems to have kids yelling at almost 11pm outside jumping into the pool then hot tub. On top of that you can hear the train like it's passing right by. This place is looking more like two stars with only those problems going on. Some might have liked it but our stay so far is not as fantastic. We will be getting back on the road tomorrow so hopefully the breakfast is decent. read more

Motel is old and dated - carpet heavily stained. But be sure to pack ear plugs as the freeway noise is unbearable. The 40 year old broken windows do little to block out the unrelenting noice of semi-trucks. I'd rather sleep at the end of a runway at LAX. The staff is very nice so that's worth a star. read more

Perfection. Gorgeous and brand new - seriously, the best free breakfast spread I have ever seen in a hotel - and I'm sort of a connoisseur of hotel free breakfasts - if I do say so myself. The rooms are huge and they had every amenity I could think of plus a few more. This hotel gets added to my list of favorites. There were also malls and many restaurant options for families too. A few were walking distance from the hotel. 1-minute off the highway - you can see it - it's that close. And, that's an important factor for me too. read more

Holiday travel through Missouri on Christmas evening, we were exhausted and found we had enough of driving. We scrambled to select a place to rest and recoup in the moment's notice, and found a number of lodging options at this particular exit. Surveying reviews of others, we found this was a place worth inquiry. A peek through the front entrance spoke warmth and charm to our family with the nutcracker statues flanking the sliding doors and entry of the crackling fireplace covered in Christmas green. Truly a welcome! Our first impressions were delightful with kind greetings, willingness to give us a peek of the rooms prior to booking, and wide open hallways as clean as could be. The rooms were on the immaculate side and our 3 year old son literally walked in straight to the bed, pulled back the sheets, crawling in and diving into sleep on the fluffy pillows. Everything presented perfectly. On the fourth floor, we also had a small balcony space available with a chair. We slept very well and woke to enjoy quite the surprise of a wonderful breakfast bar selection! I'm choosy in this area, and was pleased to find plain Greek yogurt with nut and coconut toppings for myself, as well as Chobani flavored yogurts for my kids. The eggs were delicious and I was pleased to find spinach available as well. Plenty of fruit, and more. Traveling on Christmas can be hit or miss. I am so glad we were blessed with finding this "momentary-home" on our journey home. read more

I am a lifetime platinum elite with Marriott and when my daughter's special education teacher asked about where to go nice with her husband I suggested Residence Inn. When they arrived the front desk turned them away because they said they don't rent rooms to local's. Really? This is uncalled for, I know that they are a good brand, but to turn someone away because they are local, not because they are full, but just because a customer is from Joplin? This sucks, especially what this nice lady goes through every day with the special children that are in her care. read more

We stayed in a two bed suite and were very comfortable. Staff was friendly, and we enjoyed the happy hour and breakfast. The food was of good quality. We noticed in the morning when we made coffee in the suite that cups and silverware in the room had been put away dirty. As a frequent traveler who spends almost half the year in hotels, I recognize when a hotel's staff goes above and beyond what any normal customer would expect. I have been staying in the Residence Inn Marriott in Joplin Missouri and have been delighted by my experience there. The staff are welcoming, polite, accommodating, and have managed to make me feel like the Residence Inn is my home away from home. One employee in particular always has a smile on her face and is eager to do whatever it takes to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Carrington has been an absolute pleasure to deal with. One incident in particular that inspired this letter deserves recognition. After an extremely long night at the hospital and in my state of fatigue and unfamiliarity with my rental car I ran out of gas on interstate 44. It was mid afternoon and the Missouri sun was sweltering hot and semi trucks sped past me at break neck speed. Not a pleasant experience I assure you. Since I was away from home, I had no friends to call. American Express road side assistance wasn't covered because I was in a rental car. Then I remembered that Carrington was working and how helpful she had been during my previous stays. I called her and explained my predicament. After a friendly crack about my intelligence, Carrington said she would ask the hotel engineer Patrick to assist me. Patrick showed up 15 minutes later, gas can in hand. Patrick filled my car with a few gallons of gas. You could tell he genuinely enjoyed helping a stranded customer. Patrick even offered to follow me to the filling station. What could have been a major crisis was resolved in an amazingly short period of time (Patrick must have left immediately after I spoke to Carrington). Carrington's and Patrick's dedication to customer service and just plain kindness are traits that are not that common in today's chaotic environments. I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else in Joplin but the Residence Inn! read more
