Great place to lay your head for 1 night, decent breakfast, not very inviting for their elite members. Never have early check in ready, never have bottles of water at check in, always fail to insure no feather pillows for the wife. Front desk staff is adequate but never welcoming. All in all, ehhh! I would recommend if you are ELITE stay somewhere else so you aren't disappointed, because somewhere else you don't expect a certain experience.

Wow, what a refreshing experience in a great hotel! The lush and thoughtful landscaping was the perfect spot to rest and restore after an eight week run of caregiving for my folks nonstop. I love the fabulous touches within the room, including the under-cabinet lighting and softer tone color of some of the lightbulbs (versus bright white!) The electrical engineering of the light switches in the room with the main switch that s huts all lights off at once when you're leaving is genius! Customer service is second to none from my check-in with Jarry to the cleaning and maintenance pros. The outdoor spaces have beautiful views, comfortable seating and strong wifi signal. The pool is clean and in a nice open spot so when the sun is out it's a perfect place to soak up some rays. They even have a little putting green! Thank you for a fabulous stay in a clean room with all the touches of home that this chef needed to absolutely get her mojo back. :)

During Civid- We stayed in a kitchenette. Two queen beds and we used the pull out mattress sofa. Beds were nice, pillows were soft and the place was clean, of course, while in Covid, we wiped everything down. As for amenities, I actually saw someone using the bbq in the courtyard, the pool is open 10-8, there is a pool table in the Lobby and the front desk was staff was busy but nice. As for breakfast, the menu is small but they make it for you when you fill out a form with a pick up time and leave it at the front desk the night before. I was happy with our stay and very satisfied with the environment. This is a 4.25-4.5 stars hotel.

I'm here now and it is awesome. The room is beautiful and clean with plenty of space and a full fridge and stove. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and complimentary. Will stay here again for sure.

This was a nice residence in. Different from others I've stayed at as there's several different buildings and a main lobby building. The service at the front desk was good when I checked in. The room was nice and had a balcony attached but I didn't like that it was connected to the neighbors balcony and it didn't have any chairs or other places to sit! Also it took a while for the AC in the room to kick in. I set it at 71 and it read 74 but didn't turn on until I dialed it down to 79. The wifi signal sucked which is my main complaint as i do a lot of work in the hotel room but it was otherwise ok. I did like that it is off the main road and a bit quieter than most hotels.

The room itself was cute (of course) and clean. My only dislikes was that the tv didn't have Netflix so my daughter and I couldn't watch a movie together, but my phone sufficed. The walls were also a little thin and we had some noisy neighbors. We enjoyed the brunch buffet before checking out on Sunday and it was delicious. IMO anybody who has actually been to Italy would agree, every detail evoked the charm of a Tuscan villa but with the perfect amount of modern luxury. Our room was well designed and clean, and the overall experience felt truly elevated. But the true highlight was dining at II Palio (their signature Four Diamond restaurant). Simply put: the food was phenomenal. From the perfectly crafted brisket and short rib burger--to the house-made meatballs and incredibly seasoned, fresh oysters, every dish showcased top-tier ingredients and culinary precision. Finally, the overall service was exceptional: Hotel staff were welcoming and gracious as well as knowledgeable, and genuinely enjoyable. That said, the addition of II Palio is second to none! First, what attracted me to it was its great location, just at the point where Chapel Hill and Carrboro meet. So it's more or less within walking distance of the Old Campus of UNC, the main part of Franklin Street and also of Weaver Street and other parts of Carrboro. Plus, it's right across Main Street from Gourmet Kingdom, my favorite Szechuan Chinese restaurant in the state. As a Hilton Diamond and fan of Hampton Inns, I appreciate being upgraded to a junior suite and getting free parking, instead of having to pay $12. Speaking of parking, it's a little confusing. Hampton has two floors (think it's the fourth and fifth) of a public garage that serves a small shopping area. There are also six Diamond spaces near the entrance to the hotel on the first floor of the garage, but they were occupied when we checked in. The parking lot is free to shoppers but costs most Hampton guests $12 (again, Diamonds excluded), which is a little weird. In most ways, this is a standard issue urban Hampton, with good, if the usual limited service, and clean rooms. I must say this Hampton is showing just a little wear and tear since the first time I stayed here about five years ago. Nothing serious -- just little things, like a tear in a sofa and worn buttons in the elevators. The A/C struggled to cool the oversized room completely. One other small complaint: The TV is a little on the small side (this in 2019, not 2010 or 2015) and the channel selection doesn't include TCM or any of the Hallmark channels. Prices are slightly on the high side for a Hampton. With taxes we paid nearly $170 for king double regular room, although we were upgraded to a queen junior suite, so I can't complain. Breakfast was the usual Hampton buffet. One new addition was smoothies, in a couple of flavors. All in all, though, I recommend this Hampton Inn & Suites for its great location and solid delivery of quality/value.

I am a Diamond member and he is Silver, but our status didn't seem to make any difference in the quality of the stay or how our concerns were handled. The AC never kept the room cool, even running continuously, and by the second night it was so hot we chose to leave early rather than try switching rooms. The mattress was completely worn out, the curtains were literally falling down, and despite requesting extra pillows, none were provided. Overall, the room felt like a typical college‑area hotel that's been heavily used and not properly maintained. On the positive side, breakfast was good, and the location is very convenient if you need to be close to the university or medical center. However, when we informed management at 1 p.m. that we were leaving early due to all of these issues, we were told there would be no refund or even a discount for the second night. Given the uncomfortable room temperature, poor maintenance, lack of responsiveness, and the fact that loyalty status did not seem to matter, I would rate this stay 2.5 stars at best and would not recommend this hotel unless proximity to the university is your absolute top priority and you're willing to overlook comfort.

If you need/want a comfortable stay at a hotel, this is not it. This is not it…read more I'm writing this review at 5 AM after having had very little sleep last night due to the super uncomfortable mattress. I honestly feel like sleeping on the floor would have been as comfortable as this mattress in this room. And for what I paid for this room I expected much more, much better. Checking in downstairs I was greeted by a beautiful spacious lobby, a fresh scent in the air, and the check in reception desk staff was friendly and super competent. I chose to park on site because it was freezing outside and I didn't want to have to walk too far as I'm traveling by myself. Parking below the hotel is available for a cost. Getting down under the building in a larger vehicle can be a little scary. But I managed to easily find parking and hopefully later today when I leave, I won't have any issues. I took the elevator from the parking lot up to the fourth floor where my room is and easily found my room. But when I open the door to my room, it smelled like dirty sheets. Like dirty hair that needs to be washed. It did not smell like the fresh scent of the lobby. The decor is very masculine and uncomfortable. The couch that I sat in started to unfold itself as I'm sitting in it is the best way I can describe it. It's like it can turn into another bed in the room, but it's so poorly made that while you're sitting on it the bottom cushions start to slide out like it's going to turn it into the bed. Very uncomfortable and hard. The actual king size bed looks like it's going to be super comfortable. It's got nice, fluffy sheets and pillows on it however, I cannot get comfortable in it as it is hard as a rock. My hips are killing me and my right arm keeps falling asleep. I cannot find a comfortable position. There is no alarm clock, so I have to check my phone to check the time. Good luck figuring out the light switches. I spilled some water and there are no paper towels, so I chose to use a washcloth to wipe it up. Thefloors are laminate so wiping it up should've been easy and I expected the washcloth to be virtually clean when I picked it up, however it was filthy. So when was the last time these floors were mopped? And then I started looking around that's an area rug and there are several dark stains on the area rug. I had to turn the heater on because the air conditioner was running and the room was freezing. I mean outside it was 33°. The heater was so loud. I called downstairs and they offered to send someone up, but I was already in my pajamas so hopefully after I check out, they will check it out because it sounded like a freight train was in the room every time it came on. The walls are pretty thin and I know this is a college town and there was a concert here tonight. I knew that I would hear sounds from the street, but it was the sounds from the hallway and the rooms around me that was super annoying. The iron never heated up enough and water spilled all over the clothes I was ironing. Had to use the hair dryer to remove the water. Some previous yelpers said the water pressure in the shower was light. I found it to be perfect. But the hotel provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash all had a male-centered fragrance. Overall, I'm very disappointed in the stay. I have a pretty long day ahead of me with a lot of driving and I got basically no rest. And my back is stiff.
