I've been staying at the Residence Inn in Mount Laurel for years whenever I'm in town for work and it's always been a reliable and comfortable choice. The environment is relaxing and the rooms feel spacious. The staff is generally very attentive and makes sure guests have what they need. Breakfast is available in the morning and while it's nothing fancy it does the job. I also really like the location. It's quiet but still close to a good mix of restaurants and shopping. One added bonus is that Costco is less than ten minutes away. Overall it's a great spot if you're looking for a low stress and consistent place to stay. read more

As a loyal Marriot customer, I expected the same quality of service from this location as received on all previous Marriot stays elsewhere. I am writing this for my employer and his wife, who are both handicapped. They were displaced from their home due to a flood and the insurance company placed them here. Imagine how difficult that is already for this couple. Multiple issues occurred at this property. First, the initial room was not handicapped accessible and the bathroom door actually hits the toilet. They asked to be moved and while in the second room a massive water leak occurred that sent hundreds of gallons of water into the bathroom and completely destroying parts of the room, hallway, walls and walls of the floor below. Management moved them into the room directly below the one that flooded and not surprisingly there was water dripping into their bathroom and then the AC broke on a 100+ degree day. Spoke with Vanessa, Housekeeping Director, and found a larger room on the top floor for them to move into only to have Barbara, the general manager, refuse the move. Also, she treated this couple rudely, like they were children and with little regard to their safety. I understand that customer service is lacking in today's society but safety should never not be a concern and politeness should be a basic skill for a general manager. Maybe it's time to attend a customer service course refresher because this is not the best way to promote loyalty. Very disappointed in Marriot and especially Barbara. Be careful of staying here as all that water went between the walls which is becoming mold. Marriott do better and live up to your standards. read more

I was on a trip for work for 2 weeks, glad we finished early and I only stayed 1 week. The staff seemed nice and friendly. Now to the good stuff. The first room I was in was 1st floor, I came back the 2nd night and it smelled like an ash tray I asked to be relocated. My relocation up to the 2nd floor the room was clean and spacious. But the temperature control in the room was broken. One minute it's nearing 75 degrees the next I lowered it to 66 and it gets lower than that down to 60 degrees or less within a few minutes. It was constantly fluctuating, I barely slept at night. The A/C and heat system fan was so loud I don't think I slept a wink the entire week I was there. My toilet wouldn't stop running all night either. The neighbors were loud and screaming at their kids the entire night after 10pm. The fitness area was very small and limited , stationary bike was broken I couldn't adjust it for my height. The pool was cold. Laundry room was gross, door swipe did not work so the door was just open for anyone to come and go. Staff was nice and was nice to have breakfast served every morning but I won't be staying here again. I was hesitant to book a room here after a previous negative experience at the neighboring Courtyard by Marriott Mount Laurel Cherry Hill. But I realize that not all Marriotts are created equal, even in the same town. So I took a chance with this one and I'm glad I did. When it comes to hotels I always look for 3 minimum requirements for a satisfactory stay: 1. It's clean 2. It's quiet 3. The staff is helpful and friendly First and foremost, everything appeared to be clean from the common areas to the room itself. Now, I have to differentiate between clean and worn because the place is obviously older and could definitely use some updating. However, that doesn't necessarily translate to being unsanitary. Furthermore, all of the room's kitchen area components, including a cooktop, dishwasher, microwave and full size refrigerator were in working order. Second on this list is the noise level. I only ask for a little peace and quiet during overnight hours. Therefore, I'm pleased to report that there was no problem in that regard. Finally, the staff provided exemplary customer service. The ladies at the front desk went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. If only every hotel had a staff like this one! There was one positive and one negative outside of the basic requirements that are worth mentioning. Breakfast is included (yay!) but the pool was closed (boo!). read more

I usually don't bother to review hotels because as long as it's clean and I sleep well it's all the same to me. This hotel is exceptionally bad. I only stayed one night passing through (thank goodness). But I beg you to reconsider if you're planning to stay here. My major beef with the hotel is that every time the air kicked on, the room filled with cigarette smoke. I don't smoke and the smell makes me nauseous on top of it being unhealthy. The whole place smelled dank but the smoke was over the top terrible. Breakfast was pretty bad, they had two varieties of sausage but no potatoes?? Residence Inns always had the best breakfast potatoes. Why bother with two types of the same thing instead? The mattress was old and sunken, and the fitted sheet did not stay on due to no/old elastic on the corners so at one point the bare mattress was exposed which is disgusting. read more

Repairs needed on basic things: HVAC unit is loud, shower curtain falling down, bathtub faucet separating from the tile, TV cabinet had a cabinet that wouldn't stay closed, no dust ruffle on the beds, broken buttons in the elevator. The room itself was fine at first glance but it wasn't taken care of at all. We had a suite and there were small rips in the couch, refrigerator was dented, some of the lightbulbs were out and the bathroom door didn't close all the way. The worst thing was that the AC unit was SUPER loud- sounded like a popcorn machine when it was on. Two positive things were the pillows were amazing and the staff At the front desk was Very friendly and helpful. We stay at hotels in this area a lot and I won't stay here again. Priceline fail. The booking didn't transmit and I had to wait over an hour to get it straight with a rude front desk person. The front desk was cluttered and the floors and furniture needed a good cleaning. This place is touted as very clean on Priceline. It's worn out. Wallpaper is peeling from the ceiling. There were other people's pills on the floor in the bathroom. There was also dust and debris on the floor. If I wasn't already so exhausted, I would have moved to another hotel. I book a room with more than a week of advance since my son had a soccer tournament. I arrived with 2 kids 5 and 7 years old pass 5:30 pm (check in is suppose to be at the latest at 3) and my room is not ready. After driving 2 hours and my son playing 2 games we are here in the lobby waiting for our room and the person at the lobby is telling that "I'm sorry I'm not housekeeping". The Staff at The Residence Inn goes above and beyond for their guests. I couldn't have been more pleased by the A++++ staff and the service they provided to my family which included my 2 dogs. All other hotels and hotel chains need to follow The Residence Inn's procedures and policies when it comes to providing the best customer service. I just spent a week at this location and I want to say the entire staff from the front desk to housekeeping was exceptional. The Operational Manager Marie runs a tight ship and interjects only if needed. Her front desk staff know their job such as MiMi who is pleasant as your are greeted upon arrival. The evening staff is just as willing and courteous. It worked out well for me since I needed a kitchenette and plenty of space for a 2 year old. Super convenient. *Has a great hot breakfast selection & super happy hours. *Very friendly staff at the front desk at all times. Primo customer service. *wifi is strong. TVs / cable offerings are above average. Cons: *cleanliness is not their strong suit. *Hallways have strong gross odors. *Carpets need cleanings. *Bathrooms are overlooked when it comes to detail cleaning *Beds are half ass made - even worse if you stay over 3-5 nights. *elevators need cleaning Ultimately I stay here bc it's close and it's cheap. We're die hard lifetime members of Marriott, just completed our 596th lifetime stay. This property was gross, not well taken care of whatsoever. The property needs a total makeover and sooner rather than later would be beneficial. We've NEVER stayed at a Marriott property that was in such terrible condition. I'll attach a few pics of the room we stayed in. Marriott should have one of their Senior VP's walk this place from top to bottom, even common areas were dirty. I've stayed here many times and this last time we had some problems...The hotel now charges a $10 a night parking fee which makes no sense in a suburban environment. Its a money grab plain and simple. The drain in the tub didn't work and had to be cleaned out (filled with hair). The shower curtain wasn't clean, cables are hanging out of the TV mount, and the outside lights shine right in through the windows. The entire place is in need of updates / renovations and they need to do away with this BS parking fee. I'll be staying elsewhere unless these are addressed. read more

Ok so let's start from the beginning. Check in was cool, the woman at the front desk was OK. Check in was fast and easy. So I stayed two nights. The rate goes up for weekend nights. They hold a $50 incidental fee per night you stay so mine was $100 on top of the room charge. Now let's talk about this parking fee, it is $10 per night, when they have a whole big lot of their own, with no valet. They don't even know if every individual that checks in, drives. Also you pay three different taxes which I don't get as well. Next, I go to my room, which was just ok. Residence inn definitely has changed. Its not as nice as it used to be years ago. The suites are small. No oven in my room when I requested that, I don't even know if they have that anymore. The couches are worn, hard, and extremely uncomfortable because they basically have no cushion left. There was stains all over in random places. The bed isn't that comfortable either, think it has a mattress pad on it directly in the middle. Everything just seems and feels worn out. My room had to be changed the first night because the toilet wouldn't stop running and there was no maintenance person on duty but the next room definitely wasn't better. The bedroom tv kept going out and I would have to get up and keep switching the cable's hdmi port back and forth. In my conclusion, not that I wouldn't stay at "A" Residence Inn again, I just wouldn't stay at this location again. Im very surprised how it is, especially being that it is in one of the "Well To Do Areas", Mount Laurel. read more

We checked in here tonight. Front desk was courteous. We got our keys and headed to our room. The whole floor smelled like fish and of course it was the person next door to us who was also screaming and fighting with a woman inside the room with the door wide open. (To fan out the smell from cooking fish). Couldn't use the pool either as there were a ton of unsupervised kids in there raising hell. I should have paid more for a hotel with better reviews. Pro -The room concept is great for families. 2 beds (king and queen), 2 bed rooms, 2 bathrooms, living room area, kitchen -pool and hot tub -good full, hot and cold breakfast in the common area -small market that sells beer and food -overall seemed pretty clean Cons -Kitchen was a little scarce- Coffee maker but no coffee filters (only these coffee pods), oven but no baking dishes or baking sheets. -fireplace didn't work -bed skirt was ripped and looked worn -luggage carts are breaking and not functional -a bit overpriced for what it is read more

Worst Hotel I've stayed at in 10 years. Room stunk like someone smashed a dozen stink bugs, showing a lot of wear / needs renovations, crappy bed, slow elevators, and the worst part was the breakfast. Now, breakfast it's easy to say well why didn't you just go down the road to a Starbucks or a Dunkin' Donuts or something right, get over it... well we were time constrained and with other people and I really had to try to find something to choke down at that place... A couple name brand yogurts (name withheld to protect the innocentoni) was the only thing edible. Selection was half of what you expect anywhere else. They had the fakest worst leather sausage rolled into imitation bacon crap product I have ever tasted. Coffee was out. Juice machine had started its own ecosystem. Floor so sticky you could hear every person's every step. Of course the eggs were disgusting like they cut up some kind of squish ball and they had an actual ice cream scoop for them. I literally could not cut through the edge of my kids pancakes with the provided plastic knife. They soaked the center of them in syrup and then kind of scooped two or three bites out of just the center of the pancakes because apparently they were so freezer burned or something around the edge that you couldn't cut through them. I could normally bite my tongue and not say anything about the food because you should be going to a hotel for other reasons, but even if a continental breakfast or whatever they call that is low quality it ought to be freaking edible and not make you question the food safety. I stay at a lot of hotels, not typically Marriotts, but this place completely changed my perspective of their entire brand because if they allow a place like this to show up on their website... well then I'd have to question some other things before I ever stay at one again with so many other choices. Zero stars should be an option! The way I and my family were treated as a returning guests and members was terrible! Not being allowed to use the common dining room as we usually are when we visit. Seemingly because we were young or perhaps african american. ONLY to see that night that a party 3x the size of ours who happened to be Caucasian were allowed with coolers of alcohol on top of it all. We tooks pics as proof and it was when common area we supposed to be closed at 10pm at least we were told so WOW! We paid a pretty penny to stay and enjoy the property with inflated Father's Day wknd pricing just like they did. Why did we have different rules? We recieved the book thrown at us on policy and procedures RUDELY! We were forced to chose btwn our room or outside in the humidity and were told to keep to one side so that guests could enjoy the areas as well REALLY. We did choose outside because it was close to the common areas for our children to play like the pool in the basketball courts we did not want to make them as uncomfortable as we were. It is understandable but sad after we seen others not held to that standard how unfair. Because of those higher prices it seemed like when we checked in there weren't mini guess there as usual or at least they weren't down in those areas we were not trying to inconvenience anyone at all we never do and we've never had a problem before.a I would have walked out but we had paid and it was too short of notice to change plans. I should add that before we checked in and paid we did ask where we able to use the common area again which is not the first time but we were being courteous, we were told yes at the front desk, only to be told after we had put our things there that we had to move them by the manager who did not have a great attitude in the first place we should have been told no prior and they should be consistent. disappointed and though I, my family, and friends have come here for years I have spread the word and our business is lost. Stayed here for 3 weeks on business. 1st experience in a Residence Inn. Excellent extended stay hotel. Free wifi & parking. Full kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, & dish washer. Lots of outlets for my electronics. Free hot breakfast with 3 manager's reception dinners a week. I truly felt like it became my home away from home. Within government per diem rates, they also will issue a state tax exemption when you're travelling on federal business. This place gets 1 star based solely on the fact that at midnight, our room reeked of cigarette smoke coming through the vents in the bathroom. I called the front desk to complain and while the woman was nice, the response was "we have a no smoking policy and we'll have someone walk around." We had to keep the bathroom door shut all night (didn't prevent the massive headache I head) and it still smelled the next morning before we immediately got the heck out of dodge. Although it was midnight and we didn't want to switch rooms, they could have offered or at least given some sort of credit for the inconvenience. Other than that, our room was clean and up to date. The help is of zero help. Especially the GM that was on duty Ben Laster. They have no empathy for the physically challenged. The sheets were filthy. The rooms are not always the room you expect. No. They deserve 5 stars because the person I was there with left some incredibly valuable jewelry in the bathroom when we checked out, and when we called a half hour later to see if the pieces had been found and turned in to the front desk, the manager said yes, they had been, and we could pick the items up at our convenience. Can you imagine the horror/nightmare the trip would have become if the $200 a night 2 room suite had turned into a multi-thousand dollar room? Thank god for honest folks, and I hope the maid who turned the valuables in does something fun with the enormous thank you tip she received for her honest work ethic. read more

My husband booked his room through Expedia and had emergency surgery the day before he was to travel to NJ. I called the hotel to cancel the room night and request a refund and was told by the hotel manager I had to contact Expedia directly to cancel and request a refund. I called Expedia and was told that they contacted the hotel manager who said that they could not issue a refund, even with hospital documentation. So either the hotel or the booking service isn't being truthful about who is actually responsible for issuing a refund and wasted a considerable amount of my time. It's important to note that every other travel provider I contacted (two airlines, two hotels and a car rental company) all issued refunds in full. So I will have to think twice before booking any Marriott again, and certainly not this Marriott. read more

Soooo my wife and I stayed here for 2 weeks because the wife had training to do with a new company. We brought our 9 month old and all of our stuff. Room had a fridge, oven/stove microwave and sink. Pool was ok and I also used the laundromat on the 2nd floor. All in all it's been pretty accommodating for our needs. Free breakfast till 9 and we even had a free burger night last week. My boyfriend and our two friends rolled in close to 1 am, if not later, after we had gone to a baseball game and did some dancing. At that hour, you need to be buzzed in. The woman at the front desk was very nice and polite. She checked us in and gave us directions to our room. Our room, which was redeemed with free night certificates, had a kitchenette area (fridge, microwave, dishwasher, kitchen utensils and tools, table, two chairs, coffee maker), a living room area with a desk and a chair, a pull out couch, and tv, a separate bedroom with a king size bed, two night tables, another tv, and a dresser, and a bathroom. The place was immaculate when we arrived, and when we left for the day, it was very well cleaned. The bed was made, and towels were laundered and replaced. We took advantage of the free breakfast (7:00 - 10:00 am on the weekend) and free newspaper (USA Today and WSJ). Breakfast options included: eggs, potatoes, sausage, bagels, muffins, yogurt, fruit, waffles, juices, salsa, cheeses, hard boiled eggs, assorted cream cheeses, jams, peanut butter, coffee, milk. The hotel also has an exercise room, pool, laundry facilities, a small market place with $13.50 wine bottles and $3.25 beer, ice cream, and assorted snacks and toiletry items. There is popcorn in the room as well as an ice machine in the room. This place was FILLED with families with young children running around so breakfast can be a bit chaotic and challenging to find seating, but there are two rooms. Be sure to arrive before they close. The staff does a fantastic job cleaning, and they are prompt. read more

Extremely accommodating! Stayed for two weeks during house construction and the room was nice, complete with a kitchen and fire place. Very reminiscent of a condo, not a hotel. The gym is awesome and with your stay you get a pass to the LA Fitness across the street which is beyond awesome for you fitness fanatics! Our dogs were welcomed with open arms (Chihuahua and Bullmastiff) and the housekeeping was nervous about the Bullmastiff but our room was cleaned if we were in the room with him. Laundry on site is a huge plus, along with daily breakfast and weekday evening meals. Highly recommended. read more

The location was very convenient right off 295. Lots of stores such a Target, Dunkin Donuts and others nearby in case you need something. We were just hear for an overnight stop, but the hotel is great. Lots of space in the room. It's nice having a full kitchen if you needed it or just don't want to eat out. They also have grills and comfy outdoor seating. There's a basketball court, where a bunch of kids were playing when we arrived, as well as a pool and hot tub. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The included breakfast is pretty good. Although obviously nothing gourmet, I would rate it higher than many free hotel breakfasts. The breakfast area is very open with lots of space. I like Residence Inn's because the price is not much different, but it is more than a basic hotel. It's makes for a more comfortable stay whether it's one night or a week. read more

We've stayed here a few times over the years by virtue of having family in close proximity. The staff is invariably courteous but I have to confess that the place has seen better times. The carpets are beginning to get a bit ragged as is the furniture. On our most recent sojourn, the water would not drain from the bathtub - the lady in the reception was kind enough to find us another room but the room smelled strongly of frying oil (!)........ given that it was way past our bedtime, we chose to keep the room.
