We just purchased our first home and were looking to landscape our backyard. I was referred by a friend of mine and when I got assistance from the woman in the office I walked out because she was extremely rude and spoke to me like I was a child. Out of anger I went to Home Depot and purchased my bricks there instead. Come the delivery date, of course Home Depot sends a text to cancel my order I panic and go back to this place even though I don't want to but am in need of materials for that day. I am greeted by Jose and inform him of the situation. He asks why I went to Home Depot and I told him why. Customer service is everything to me. He apologized for the service I previously received. He helped me out, gave me an excellent price, got all my materials to me, and answered all my questions along the way. Because this was a project we did ourselves and have zero knowledge, he was extremely helpful with guidance as well and very patient with me. Poor customer service! Went there today to look at pavers and although the gentleman helping us outside was extremely helpful, the staff in the office was just rude and condescending. So much for shopping local! Lesson of the day: if a customer asks a question and he/she doesn't understand your answer, don't lose your patience because you want the business and referral source. Definitely lost ours so we will be looking elsewhere. read more

The sign in the window says "Open to the Public". They may be open but they sure don't provide any service. Talk about a wasted trip to this store. My wife & I decided to expand our flagstone patio so we took a sample of our stone and drove to Beaumont from Yucaipa to check out their selection. We walked into the store and there was no one around. Then we noticed a guy moving come containers on a hand truck at the rear of the store. He ignored us so I thought he was just some guy doing a delivery. After wandering around the store for a few minutes, the guy walked passed us pushing the hand ruck and I noticed he was wearing a shirt that said "Resource Building Materials" on the front. I asked if they were closed and he said "nope" and keep walking. I intercepted him as he ambled towards the sales counter, showed him my stone and asked if they had anything like it. He glanced at it and said "It might be Arizona. Go out in the yard and the yard guy will help you find it." No "Hello", no "Welcome to Resource Building Materials", no "How can I help you?", no nothin'. He wasn't actually rude but bored, disinterested and a little annoyed that we had bothered him. I asked my wife, "Are we done here?" and she said that since we drove out here, let's check out what they've got. So we went out in the yard and waited for the yard guy to finish moving some empty pallets around with his fork lift. And we waited and waited and waited. The yard guy looked at us as he drove him fork lift into the building and disappeared. And we waited and waited. Finally, it dawned on us that maybe the yard guy wasn't in a hurry to help us. So we decided that Resource Building Materials didn't want our money or our business or the business of our friends or any of the companies with which we do business and we left. The drive to Whitewater Rock is about 1/2 hour longer but there we know we will get good service and a cheaper price. The delivery charge will be a little more but they will appreciate our business, unlike this outfit read more

During a pretty large backyard construction project, I visited almost every stone yard and building place in the IE. Thompson's was a circus, Sepulveda people were plain rude, and Resource was fantastic. The three individuals at Resource helped me a great deal and were very patient with me and my family as we tried to decide on stone for a wall and pavers for patio. I was given several samples for FREE (unlike Sepulveda who took my license and credit card and charged me $17 bucks) to take home to put against the other materials I was using. Resource has several models on site, so you can actually see the stone/pavers/material. When I finally decided on what I wanted to use (used Orco Pietra in Tuscany), I called around to compare prices and Resource was actually lower than the other stores as well. Their price per square foot was higher than other stores, but the bottom line price was lower (other stores had misc fees on top of the price per square foot). My contractors were impressed with Resource- with the materials, their helpfulness, and the speed at which we were able to get everything delivered. I highly recommend Resource and next time I do a project, I won't mess around at all the other stone places around. read more

I am so impressed with this store! We ordered a ton of pavers for our backyard. We took a sample home, which was their floor sample. When I got home realized they weren't going to work right for our space. They let us return with no problems! So grateful for an easy return...what a relief! read more

I wish I had read the reviews on this business before we decided to maintain our "shop locally" supportive mindset. Despite receiving a written quote from them, they refused to honor that quote when it came time to order. Furthermore, when it appeared there was an issue with the amount of product delivered to complete the job, to rectify this issue was to be of no inconvenience to them. The only ONE person who is able to determine what the problem is, will come out to remeasure when it suits him. Customer service seems to be foreign to this place. Our project is delayed at least a week since they are unable to drive 8 miles to look at the job. It shouldn't matter what has gone wrong, but there is no effort at all for this business to help. Go anywhere else if you want to matter at all as a customer. read more
