In order to achieve this increased pressure, the customer must receive the treatment while in a pressurized environment; a hyperbaric oxygen chamber. Under these conditions, your lungs can gather up to three times more oxygen than would be possible breathing pure oxygen at normal air pressure. However, this type of treatment is often used in conjunction with additional therapies to facilitate healing of various conditions. Treatment takes place in a sealed chamber where oxygen and pressure are steadily increased. The hyperbaric chamber itself is cylindrical in shape made out of thick white plastic that has a window so the client can have visual communication with the person-in-charge. I came in for a debridement in my heel but it later turned into skin wounds on my legs. Which at the time I thought was a simple thing, that would fix itself and even my homecare nurse at the time said it wasn't serious but Dr. Anderson noticed it was actually serious. He fixed up fast over a couple of months (in a long detailed process), he gave me some inspirational words each week we met, told me to the importance of having my sugar blood sugar low and; under control, reminded me to keep off my leg and he treated my wounds. He also went beyond that with getting a much better home nurse, the right supplies, a wound vac and now I'm doing skin grafts. Seriously I feel like royalty but this is just normal care I'm sure. I had never strength trained before and was honestly intimidated by the entire experience. I worried about getting injured, looking foolish because I didn't know what I was doing, and whether the effort would actually produce meaningful results. I started training with Christian in late April, and I have been genuinely surprised by the progress I've made. Physically, I've dropped a clothing size in both pants and tops, and my DEXA scans show that I've increased lean mass and bone density while losing weight in a calorie deficit, which is especially meaningful to me at this stage of life. Beyond the visible changes, I've also seen improvements in several health markers, which was one of my primary goals going into this process. For me, strength training wasn't about athletic performance--it was about improving my long-term health. One of the biggest reasons I've been successful is the coaching itself. I have low blood pressure and can become lightheaded during heavier lifts, and I also need careful attention to form and knee positioning to avoid injury while still being challenged appropriately. I don't think I would push myself safely or effectively on my own. Christian does an excellent job of finding that balance between encouragement, proper technique, and progressive overload. One of the strongest endorsements I can give is that he has developed a program tailored specifically to my goals, my health concerns, and my abilities. Dr. Haas is well intentioned but practices fringe therapies that have no backing from mainstream…read moremedicine or basis in peer reviewed science, something marketing labels as "functional medicine" but is really just expensive out of pocket poorly proven procedures. This wouldn't be so bad if she was just taking money from patients and prescribing them placebos, but many of the things she does not only have the potential of not helping, but also causing harm. Perhaps worst of all is that she simply doesn't seem to understand the scientific reasoning behind a lot of the therapies she prescribes, only their marketing. I took my mom to Dr. Haas for an ozone injection into her shoulder for an injury, soon after which my mother developed Parkinson's. When I researched ozone, I found about half of sources suggested it was a neurotoxin and not neuroprotective, but the doctor wasn't aware of any of this. I feel a lot of regret that trusting Dr. Haas with my mother's care may have been what lead to Dr. Haas causing her Parkinson's. Similarly, she recommended "exosomes" to my mother, an unproven theoretical stem cell derivative, and my mom ended up developing breast cancer. Exosomes have been linked to the spread of cancer and are a completely unproven alternative therapy that it is currently illegal to administer. Probably the last straw was when she started sending out anti-vaxxer e-mails and trying to treat COVID with some other nonsense alternative therapies (light therapy. I will alwys regret bringing my mother to this doctor as I believe it stared the sequence of events that led to her disability and early death. Dr. Haas is a well intentioned but extremely dangerous doctor and should be avoided at all costs. The first principle of medicine is to do no harm. Dr. Kori Haas has left this behind a long time ago.
