I feel incredibly lucky to have found Roberta. I only wish I would have found her sooner. I was about 6 weeks post surgery which I was told by my surgeon to wait. Only to find out the sooner the better to start your massages right after surgery!!!!!! I was lucky to not have internal scaring after. Wow Roberta is amazing! She carried me through my Post op care! I was left with terrible bands under my arms where I could barely lift them and she worked her magic and after a few sessions I was able to have full rage of motion again in my arms. I found out how important picking the right person for your lymphatic massages and aftercare can be. You do not want to skimp when picking an aftercare person, after all you just got done spending maybe $30 -$40,000 or more, you need to protect that investment. You don't want to end up with someone who's taken a one-day course, you need someone that has the schooling and training like Roberta has. I Highly recommend her. Roberta is so so so sweet and SO SO SO smart and knowledgable about the recovery process. I've made more progress in the last 2 weeks seeing her than I ever have from previous LDM therapists. I absolutely love how she is so process oriented and really puts in the work so that you get real results and will push you out of your comfort zone during treatments. In the past ive gotten LDM and its been really superficial and doesnt really feel like its doing much of anything and it feels like im just burning money but Roberta is really transparent about how many sessions she thinks you need and doesnt try to sell you on a package or get you to commit to anything you dont want to which is also great. Roberta is actually heaven sent! All the reviews saying she's great are true. I had a bbl with dr.alavi and their post op care wasn't that great. I felt like after the surgery they just tossed me in the ocean and didn't really care if i sunk or swam. Roberta is the best thing to happen to me post op. Not only does she provide good massages, but she's also very informative in regards to the healing process. I felt like she was more informative than my surgery facility. She even allowed me to facetime her so she could help me get my foam boards on correctly. As someone who just went through a life changing surgery.. If you are planning to undergo surgery and looking for someone to perform post-op lymphatic drainage massages, look no further! Roberta is amazing. I had a BBL done and my doctor unfortunately did not recommend lymphatic drainage massages, nor did I have external drains after my surgery, which led to my body holding A LOT of fluid. I was so swollen and uncomfortable for weeks before I reached out to Roberta and I'm so grateful she was able to take me on as a client and fit me into her schedule. The difference that she was able to make in my healing is incredible. She is kind, funny, and truly cares about getting you to your best result and health. Scheduled a medical post op massage to reduce some swelling I still had 3 weeks after surgery. Roberta is super sweet and very knowledgeable about healing and physical therapy. She is professional and her studio is super clean! I have to say the post op massage is at times a little painful but man,what a difference it made in the way I healed. Sweet woman, OK massage. Pros- She was quiet the whole time which was nice because I was truly able to relax during my massage. Cons - It is a one room massage parlor in a multi-floor office, and during my massage another client walked in on me! Very uncomfortable, Roberta should have locked the door so we could have privacy. Her technique was not that great. I stressed that I had tension in my shoulders and that area needed the most attention. She did this strange thing where instead of kneading or rubbing my shoulders she just moved her hands up and down my back with firmness. Not exactly what I wanted. She was inconsistent with her pressure. One minute she was using barley any pressure and I would think about pipping up to ask for her to be a little firmer, then she would suddenly switch to intense pressure where it was painful and I was cringing. ---- Bottom line is I got this as a Groupon so I saved money, but I would not have paid full price for the massage otherwise. read more

My friend bought me this massage through Groupon for me as a birthday gift, best birthday gift EVER! I don't think you can find her on groupon any longer. After the groupons were up I couldn't afford Roberta working almost a minimum wage job...so I looked for cheaper massages but wasn't satisfied at all! Quite honestly, I was upset that I spent $35 for a crappy massage. It wasn't relaxing AT ALL. As soon as I could afford it, I texted Roberta right away! I kept her number after probably a year of not going to her. She takes the time to understand what your needs are. She's truly great at what she does. I'm quite sensitive and bruise easily, but Roberta made me feel so relaxed and didn't hurt me one bit. My typical massage is a full body for 60 mins. Only thing now that sucks is that she's full time & it's even harder to book with her! She's getting busier and busier, can't blame her. She has the hands of an angel. I am not from the San Deigo area so I wasn't able to go to Roberta as soon as would have liked. When I made the trip down for my first post-op appointment with my surgeon he recommended Roberta so I called and made an appointment that day. After that, when I had a post-op appointment I would also schedule a session with Roberta. I had been experiencing some pain, quite a bit of swelling, and could feel some fibrotic tissue developing. Roberta was not afraid to apply the pressure needed to break it up and after just one session there was marked improvement. I love how comfortable she made me feel, I think that is very important when it comes to something so personal. I really appreciated the wealth of knowledge and experience Roberta has with post-op patients and post-surgical massage, which for me was hard to find. I feel like her expertise definitely made a difference in my results. She also gave me tips how to tell my massage therapist back home what exactly I needed, which turned out to be very helpful.
