Went here for lowering springs and had to take it back because when I turned the wheel it would make noise.they said we don't know what that could be maybe your axle?it never made that sound before and the car had 27k miles.so I took it back without finding the problem so I was sent on my way with popping noises coming from struts.later changed suspension and noises went away it was not my axle.then I took car in for intake and they installed correctly but the guys kept flooring my pedal listening to intake over and over was not happy.also after installing lost grommets that go to my engine cover and I had to go to honda which isn't a big deal.3 stars because they were reasonable price but not the result I wanted.hard to find good help. read more

I've been to a few shops around town and hands down Respect Auto Works is the best.! It is an amazing shop that truly takes pride in their work. Ethil, the owner, makes sure you understand everything that you are getting done. Being a girl, going into shops I can get taken advantage of and told to pay ridiculous amounts for things that don't necessarily need to be fixed. Ethil doesn't take advantage of you, your money or your time, it's not about the quick buck for him and his crew. I have waited a few weeks to post my review, for I wanted to put some hwy miles on my 1998 Honda CRV, with the replaced engine from REDCO. The short story is Respect Auto Repair did a fabulous job in changing out the engine. I must say that they have my full "Respect" and gladly recommend them to all. Within the first 5 minutes of interacting with the guys at respect auto works i knew I was in the right place. Some shops will talk to you like your stupid, try and get you in and out and not spend much time with you or that they dont have to earn your business. Not here. Everyone was very welcoming and interested in my car, asking questions about the build. It was very welcoming. I brought them up to speed on the issues I was having and the owner was able to give me multiple options for fixing the issue. Very knowledgeable and great customer service. I went in for just a diagnostic, and ended up getting a full tour of the facility. I was shown engine's being built, along with the machine shop side of things. If you're looking for a local shop to spend money with, that will grow along with your build, give them a shot. In house close decking, fire rings, you name it they're working on it. I love my IAG performance and M45 build but I feel so detached from the builder. I think my next build i will be able to be alot closer intouch with the process at hand and im really interested in that. read more

Just recently had a Major repair done to my vehicle (clutch kit replacement). I have gotten over 20+ personal cars and motorcycles repaired and worked on by Ethil and have never been disappointed. I have always been particular when it comes to going to shops for tunes or for work on my vehicle. I'm definitely one to do most the work myself or my husband. I got referred to respect from a friend and have had nothing but positive results. They answered every single question and concern I've ever had, they have a great way of making you feel completely welcome. For me it's not just about tuning its also about the tuners, I have found that all the people that work there love there Job and it shows. To me it makes the biggest difference , they want you to succeed and that's whats important. It's hard to trust a lot of shops out there bc most of them are scandalous but these guys aren't one of them. I havent taken my car anywhere else ! Tunes and mechanical skills are beyond average. The shop is in a building that works next to another company. It was a little confusing where to turn into but it's not a problem because the crew members with the other company just simply tell you where to go. I went to respect auto works because I was recommended by a friend because they mostly work on Subaru's and I was in need for a timing belt and transmission fluid change. I arrived and I was treated nicely by the most wonder of staff and I provided them with my parts so I would only pay the installment fee. All said and done it only took half a day and the price was worth it because they don't only make sure everything is working and on right. They cleaned and degreased my engine and it looks like new. I would definitely come here again for future work and I would recommend this place. P.s- they know a lot about Subaru's and probably other Japanese cars with a little of some other cars. My car intermittently would not start during my visit in Modesto, 63 miles away from where I live. P1361 and P1362 codes were coming up on my 2001 Honda Civic LX. I was having trouble getting a tow in a timely manner at 6:00. I called Respect Auto Works to see if they could take a look at my vehicle this late. Although closing time was 6, the manager said they would take a look if I could get there by 7. I got a tow there at 7:20 p.m. The manager diagnosed a sensor issue, the radiator hose not being attached from a head gasket job at another shop, and the absence of silicon to seal the front valve cover from the other shop. The manager stayed there until 9 to get the work done so I could go home from my trip on time and without trouble. I appreciate the manager having gone out of his way to help me. I strongly recommend giving the shop's services a chance. It was a real life saver for me. read more

I have been to many auto shops and being a female I'm always getting screwed by incorrect diagnosis and expensive. My SUV was not turning on right I was told by others it might be the starter or alternator. Ethil gave a proper diagnosis he explained everything in detail to what he was doing and come to find out the battery was what needed to be replaced. This is probably the best, most reliable shop in the whole valley. WHERE to start. So far, Ethil and his team have worked on two of my cars. My Mitsubishi Eclipse was running horribly and had a weird idle. They looked over the car and immediately noticed one of the balancing rods not in place, they fixed the issue and were extremely explanatory and helped me understand the issue. That was only the start of their help. My second car was a Subaru WRX. What can I say, these guys are the GO TO GUYS when I comes to any Subaru WRX, whether it's rebuilding, adding modifications, Wiring anything, fixing, or tuning the car, they are literally the best around. Stan the man will tune any car and make it a BEAST. One of the key words that would best describe them is CONSISTENT!!! I had a swap put in, and I've never felt so much power and happiness from driving my car. They are hands down the best mechanics in the 209, if not further, and the friendly atmosphere is just a plus. Ethil, stan, Rendell, Henry and Romeo and now little Thor, are the coolest guys around, and it's an added benefit they'll fix up ANY issue you may possibly have on your car.
