We were looking for an all-around style handyman that would repair items inside and outside of the home. I contacted Response Crew after searching and reading reviews. I had it narrowed down to them and one other. I sent my work request to both companies. Jennifer kept in communication with me through email which was super helpful as I was trying to work full time and get repairs set up for our new home. She communicated clearly and concisely and was straight forward about what they could repair, what they couldn't, and they would have to assess onsite. The rates were stated without hidden costs. The day of the scheduled appointment, I received a text message that advised me who the technician would be with a picture of him. Kelly was our technician and contacted me prior to heading out. He provided me an estimate of when he would arrive and even beat me to the house by a few seconds. He made sure to do a complete walk through with me on the items for repair that were on his list to make sure he understood what I expected and to make sure that nothing was missed. He explained any items were he would have to purchase materials and any items he may not be able to fix. Once the work was done, he had taken before and after photos for comparison and provided notes on my repair list that I had created. He again provided a complete walk through. All I can say is Response Crew are professional handymen. We had Kelly and Derek in today to install my vent exhaust hood over my stove. They removed my upper right cabinet and pull out the stove. Mounted the exhaust and connect the electrical. Ran the stainless steel chimney to my roof and secured everything. They laid paper to protect my new cabinets and used cardboard on my floors. Cleaned up the hood with a stainless steels cleaner and vacuumed my kitchen. Very professional service. They called me one hour before my appointment to confirm time. Arrived on time. I saw a few mixed reviews but I must say that for me, Response Crew, in particular Angel and Derek, were great! We had a few urgent requests as well as a few misc. requests that included, installing 2 new ceiling fans, swapping a few light fixtures, installing a new toilet, installing a Nest doorbell, and a few other minor items. For the company, if you see this, my only recommendation is better clean up procedures. I had to do a fair amount of vacuuming and cleaning the floor afterwards. I post a recommendation on SL for an electrical service. Respond Crew "Handyman" said they can do it. I calls and told Jennifer what the problem/issue I have. She said her guys are great. However, when they sent me the worker. This guy was not experience enough to do the job, he asked to look for my fuse box to look for the switch t turn off the lights, I show him (obviously it labeled). He keeps turn the switch that are not active. I did it labeled. As for my ceiling fan that has little technical with the ceiling light. He wouldn't climb up to look (oh wait.. he didn't have a ladder) I offered mine. He also said this is "not my expertise, you need an electrician come out to run a wire for the light). I called the office, Jennifer said oh "he's great! He will do wonderful job. NOT.. he's a HANDYMAN NOT ELECTRICIAN! I made him leave and not doing extra work that I requested. Sine I don't want more issues when he's not electrician! However, next day Ruth called me and charged CC without my approval. I said I'm disappointed that you send a handyman and electrician You should give me a discount. She said "they guys are do minor jobs. Well this is not a minor job when I have electrical issues". Used Response Crew as part of an AC install. AC was installed but some drywall needed repaired and was included in the package. Response Crew was a little hard to get a hold of. Their hours were basically the same as my working hours and I couldn't call when I was at work. Worker was friendly. Worker did a pretty good job, albeit the texturing was a bit off - better than I could have done though. I did send them a video of my project to see if they could help me with something more and they never responded. The guys who did the work did a pretty good job. Like most handymen, they are good with drywall, painting and caulking but less talented in other areas. The office left some things to be desired. They want your credit card number before they do anything and they charge you without telling you when and what they are charging. Other handymen I have worked with--as well as plumbers, tree services, etc.--quote you a price and stick to it, unless you change the project. Read the fine print in the Agreement with Response Crew. It says that the estimate is just an estimate and they can charge you whatever they want to charge you when all is said and done. And they will not tell you what they are charging or why they are charging more until you see it on your credit card. I felt this was very poorly handled. Like most people, I don't like surprises and I don't like giving someone a blank check. That's how these guys operate. read more

Mario was my Response Crew contractor to assist me with the following items, and these were the quoted estimate times. Keep in mind the worker is paid by the hour and includes any travel time to obtain materials once they vet the work needed when they come inside the home. 1. Fix the closet rod that is almost ripped off because the glue the prior owners used is not holding up the weight. One side of the closet has a square block and nailed in to allow the rod to be more stable, looking for the same thing to be done on 1 closet- depending on cost, may ask the same for 2 additional closets, though master is the top priority. - About .75 hr. 2. Fix the curtain rod in the master bedroom that looks like it can fall off. Will need minor drywall repair. - 1.25 hrs. 3. Move a large black canvas painting to be centered in the living room, we moved furniture around and now the painting is off centered, I also managed to nail multiple holes in the wall trying to hang this up the first time, will need those filled. - 1 hr. 4. Need to hang up 2 12x18 photo frames using a stud finder and ensure the photos are leveled. - .5 hr. I was pretty impressed. I received text message and email reminders a few days before the appointment, and another text day of, along with Mario giving me a call he was on his way. He spent about 2.5 hours completing the items-- I only had the one closet rod completed. I was pretty happy with the work completed, and would definitely use this company again. read more

I live out of state, and my elderly parents needed handrails installed in their bathroom and shower, and a new shower head. Response Crew did a wonderful job! My parents also have 14ft vaulted ceilings and I did not want my elderly parents to be standing on tall ladders to swap out batteries for their fire alarms. Response Crew swapped out the batteries with no problem. If my parents ever need handyman work again, I will be calling the Response Crew. I had all the parts delivered from Amazon and available on site, and I just needed someone to install everything for them. Moved into our home, which was built in 1993, two years ago. We discovered an issue with the water line to the fridge's water/ice dispenser--the least expensive fix was to run a line from our R/O system to the fridge be and not use the home water line. Contacted the company which services the R/O system to do this and from the questions asked by their rep it was obvious the company didn't' want to do it. Contacted the plumber we've used in the past (they also do R/O systems) was given a quote of $960 for a job that would take approx. 1 hr. Finally found Response Crew, the the person I spoke with immediately understood the issue, provided a reasonable quote, set the appointment based on our availability. Shawn was assigned the job and we are so lucky he was. Not only did he know what to do, he discovered that the R/O system was not installed properly, he corrected the install, ran the line to the fridge and the issue is solved.
