Kimberly Wells is awesome this is my second year using Responsive Tax & Accounting and I'm very happy with their service.

It's that time of year again... when I remember why I no longer use Responsive. I'll keep this simple since most people won't read a long review: call someone else. There are plenty of solid tax professionals in Chandler - I know have learned. My experience with Responsive started well--good initial conversations and a strong first impression with Billy and the tax professional Irene. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. Follow-up was consistently poor. Communication only happened if I repeatedly chased them down, and even then it was excuse after excuse--office closures, travel, annual fishing trips, "I'll call you tomorrow"... "I'll call when we get back in the office"... which rarely happened. The breaking point: I paid them to set up my LLC, and they suggested that they be the Statutory Agent. (I agreed) A few months later, they quietly resigned as the agent through the Arizona Corporation Commission without any notice to me. No call. No email. No explanation--despite multiple attempts on my end to get answers. Even more confusing, they continued to handle my taxes afterward as if nothing happened. So weird. This review is long overdue. I'm still waiting on a refund for services that were effectively abandoned. Stay away from this Tax service!! The communication is zero and you'll have to request to talk with your CPA, otherwise drop off and pick up and figure it out for yourself! I had to call several times to find out if my taxes were completed. Then a few weeks afterwards I was notified by the IRS that my taxes were rejected, I called Marcy immediately to find out why and how best to rectify this and never spoke with her, it was handled with no communication, then to make things worse I received a bill from the IRS for nearly $1,000 because Marcy did a shitty job configuring my taxes. Plus, she's either not available or not in the office! They need to rename this place as Nonresponsive Tax and Accounting! I have no idea how Marcy retains any Clients!!! read more

I had my personal and business taxes done here for my Airbnb. Those were fine. I also asked if they could do my TPT tax which had a deadline. I picked up my regular taxes and Marcy said she was working on the TPT. The deadline came and went, and no communication. I called and they told me that she reached out but my email bounced back. First of all that's odd, because I get their newsletters so I know they have my correct email. Second, and more importantly, wouldn't you reach out to your customer via phone to let them know there was an issue if an email bounced back? I gave them my correct email (that they already had) and was told they'd get back to me. I called multiple times over a few weeks and got other excuses. Then they just stopped taking my call and did not return my voicemail. If you don't know how to do the tax or can't do it, at least tell your customer. We had several issues with the staff scheduling our meeting with Marcy just to get an initial interview. Once that took place we were told our return was ready to pick up. The returns were not ready for pickup and we had to wait while the returns were printed and packaged. Nearly a month later I inquired with the State of AZ about my refund and they indicated that they didn't have a return on file for me. When contacting Responsive we received an email stating that they had just filed our returns electronically that same day. In other words, they failed to file my returns for nearly 30 days. I truly doubt that my returns would have been filed had I not contacted these people. read more

I have worked with Marcy for years now. A true professional.

We used Responsive Tax Service for the first time last year. While it was the beginning of the pandemic, it took weeks and multiple calls for our taxes to be finalized. On top of the lack of efficiency, everything that was submitted to the IRS on our behalf was done with the wrong address! They used our last name, but all future correspondence, including our stimulus checks/debit card, went to an address with a similar last name. Thankfully, the couple receiving all of mailings are honest humans and have hand-delivered every check that wound up at their address. When we made Responsive aware of their mistake, they offered no apology nor took responsibility. Instead, they forwarded the form for US to change our address with the IRS. We would not recommend Responsive due to their inefficiency and carelessness. read more

All I can say is that Responsive Tax and accounting are not very responsive. Had my 2022income taxes completed back in late February. after, I signed and paid, found so many mistakes and had numerous emails and telephone conversations back and forth. Finally in early April it was completed correctly and was informed that a 50% discount would be applied for next years taxes for all the trouble. I requested the 50% be applied for the taxes that were just completed . I was told a check would be mailed to me. Contacted them in late April and June 9 in regards to when the check would be sent out. No reponse. Instead I received another invoice requesting payment. Sent another email and called again. I was told it would be taken care of last Friday. Heard nothing from the owner. All I am requesting is for someone to call me back. They have my $$ screwed up my taxes because all Marcy did was cut and paste old information from the previous year and never sat down with me to make sure everything was correct. read more

Responsive tax has been great. Unfortunately my life is hectic and I had to wait to the last minute this last year. Marcy and Billy were understanding and still have been working hard to get our company and personal taxes completed. They didn't judge us on the lateness, they were positive and professional! We definitely will tell others to head their way, Great team! read more

I have been attempting to file mine and my husbands taxes on my own over the years. Last year I made mistakes and had to file an amended return that I know I didn't do right. This year we made the choice to have Responsive Tax help us and we are so glad we did. Not only did they help us with my mistake from last year, but were very timely and kind with answering any questions that we had. I have never been one to give my accountant and their firm much thought. That all changed upon meeting Marcy, Billy and the staff. I retained this firm to handle my bookkeeping and taxes. They have a monthly flat fee which is very reasonable. But you won't ever get your financials on time. I didn't receive 5 months worth of business P&L and Balance Sheets. But yet they insist on charging you a monthly fee. When I brought it up to the owner, (husband) he insisted that I was wrong. After saving all the email communications with his staff member asking where my financials were, he was somewhat quick to decide he'll take over my account. Needless to say, they are quick to want to take your money but not provide financials in a timely fashion or at all. I've moved on....don't bother read more
