Everything was delicious - the whole fish is a must - the skin is so crispy and tasty - has a lot of Vietnamese flavours. The cocktails are also fabulous here - I had the Mexican Firing Squad and the Jungle Bird - both delicious and easy to drink! The room itself reminds me of a cool speakeasy bar/resto you'd find in the streets of New York City. It's hidden in an alleyway behind a very unassuming door. Both were instantly denied with no reasonable alternative suggested by the owner himself, short of waiting an hour for a different table to open. I understand places like to get rid of their undesirable tables but do not foist this onto patrons who have booked weeks to a month in advance! We ended up not eating there at all and went to a vastly superior spot near the FRONTENAC , LE CONTINENTAL- excellent in all aspects! Bottom line - stay away from BISTRO St- MALO- un accommodating and using totally undesirable tables so close to the bar that you may as well be drinking your dinner instead of eating it!
