She has a bladder condition. While we were shopping, she suddenly had an emergency and desperately needed to use the restroom. I saw a restroom toward the back of the store that appeared to be open, but there were some plastic barriers around it. I went to find an employee and explained the situation, asking if she could please let my daughter use the restroom. She initially told me that they did not have a restroom. I told her that I had just seen it, and she then said, "Yes, we have a bathroom, but not for you to use. If you want to use the bathroom, go to Safeway." I found the way she spoke to me completely unacceptable, especially after I explained that my daughter was having an emergency and could not wait. I was not asking for anything unreasonable; I was simply asking for help during an emergency involving my child. I am a frequent customer at this store, so this experience was especially disappointing. I truly hope management provides better training to their employees and teaches them to show more empathy, respect, and compassion, especially when dealing with children and emergency situations. The products and prices may be good, but customer service and the way customers are treated matter just as much.

Where do I begin. On Saturday I went to the location to return two candles I had bought but when I…read morearrived the location was closed. So I came back today after visiting one of my locations that I manage in the mall. When I got to the location I was not greeted by anyone, I had actually walked up to two workers. I had let them know that I wanted to exchange my two candles I had, as my sister in law advised me on their exchange policy, however I did not have my receipt of purchase. The only reason I wanted to exhange was because after 45min of burning them they didn't smell like anything. Which I have never had this problem before but for $30.00 a candle I expect to smell something. They said it was fine but I might have to pay the price difference if I got a more expensive candle and I said it was fine as long as they accepted apple pay because I didn't have my wallet. I guess they couldn't put two and two together - didn't have receipt & wallet? Why would they ..I guess I am asking two much from someone who gets paid minimum wage. I stroll the store find a couple additional items to purchase, find the candles I want to exchange and a fragrance I want to purchase with coupon I have from their loyalty program. Waited in the long line got to the point of scanning my Apple Pay to be asked for my ID for the exchange. I told the girl I don't have my wallet that's why I am paying with Apple Pay. She responded with I need your ID to complete the exchange. We'll ladies that would have been great to know the second I entered your location! In the future you should explain your exchange policy when someone asks about it. Complete waist of my time, I was so frustrated I walked off and realized I left my brochure of loyalty coupons. The associates didn't even bother to stop me and give it back. My husband then called the location and asked if he could get our coupons back that were left or somehow add to our profile and they told him it was his problem and he would have to call customer service. The products are familiar brands; it is stocked nicely and cleanly; and they even have a legit produce and cold case that rivals Grocery Outlet. Not quite but almost. I never would of walked through these doors, if my dear aunt, who is now retired in this area, raved about this place to me a while back ago. So for her birthday, along with a cake and some goodies, I wanted to get her some gift cards from here. It was a little bit of a run-around getting them, as some cashiers were clueless about them, but I was able to get them on my second try in another line. Of course since I was there, I browsed the aisles for a bit just to get an idea. I ended up getting a few things that was on my list for the month anyways. Here are some finds: +Brand name galore. Not like other dollar stores where mystery brands rule the shelves. Tapatio, Campbells, Frito-Lay, Heinz and even a Haribo section! +Great produce section, not as many choices as a regular grocery store of course but tastier product and a much better price. Found guavas here, and primo cherries for $2/lb. Super surprised. +Well stocked shelves. Look at my pics. Usually dollar stores are notorious for having disheveled shelves. Not here. +Great for seasonal holiday decorations on the cheap. Or decorating for a kid's birthday and you're only going to use it once, get it cheap. +Amazing spacing. This definitely used to be a Kmart or some sort. I was there for at least 20 minutes, and I still didn't touch 70% of the store. It's that big. Out of curiosity, I found one of these in my town and checked it out. No where near as large, this was triple the size. And I think it contributes to their store being much cleaner, less damage and rummaging done to it. Now you will have to endure certain things, like long lines and the occasional drama that people who dollar stores attract bring. But that is not a big deal for me, it is part of what you sign up for, when walking through these doors. So to all those giving low ratings because you're expectations weren't in check, I'm throwing in an extra star to off set yours. I know where I'm at and I'm comparing to what I've seen.
