The flavors they put in it were delicious and the portion was big I left full.. They have a small seating area out front .. That is where si sat... I noticed that every time there door opened there were good smelling Aromas of food coming from it.. Also Michelle who is one of the owners who served me has a Beautiful and Genuine Energy... This was the worst example of non existent management and customer awareness I have ever seen. This place was ......... the only way I can accurately describe this, is as a ghetto ass smart and final on steroids. If I didn't know better and I'm not so sure I do, I would say they were having a Xanax party when I was there. I asked three of the employees working the front sales area where to find a couple of kitchen utensils and packaging items and they just stood there looking at me ..... as if to say " no eenglish meester"... I almost laughed out loud..... I ended up leaving a cart with at least $350.00 worth of stuff just sitting there ...... This was yesterday ..... its probably still there ...... P.S. What an awesome find this place is! The employees were very helpful in showing us where the items are that we needed. Daisy at the front is magnificent, she made the signing up process easy to accomplish. She is definitely the star of the show at Restaurant Depot! I honestly don't know why people complain about this place lol.. the store is actually fully equipped and the staff is always around. The only thing I did not like was their weekend hours and how early they close. Aside from that everything went well. I was able to get a bunch of items for myself at a very reasonble price. For you delivery drivers... parking very limited and tight turns... suggest day cab...

helpful staff, variety of products and free coffee :). prices are wholesale and not always the lowest (you can probably get the same prices at costco or even other retailers with sales/coupons). they do had a really good variety of fresh fruits/veggies, seafood/meats, frozen items along with complete restaurant/party supplies. beware though, you will end up spending at least $100+ (even with a few items) because of the large sizes. overall, i will continue to patronize, as its a great deal and i end up splitting costs with family and friends so it works out :). oh, they could improve their carts though. they are so difficult to maneuver! read more

I own a bakery business and frequent here much more than I'd like. Everyone in this place is very rude. But to top it off, a few months ago, I bought two large boxes of butter here. When I got them home, I put them in the fridge. I opened them a few days later to see all of the blocks had mold on them. I looked at the expiration date, and they had expired more than a MONTH before the date I had purchased them. To put that into perspective, the butter I just bought at Costco expires in February (it's the beginning of September now). I drove back to the store the next day and they had the nerve to give me a hard time about wanting to return it, saying you can only return items within 24 hours and it had been four days. I told them it shouldn't matter, since they had sold me an expired and moldy product! I had to fight with them for ten minutes to give me a refund, and then they made me wait off to the side for another ten minutes, pretending not to even notice me, before finally calling me over to refund my card. I will never buy anything there again that is perishable. The only reason I keep going is because they have a couple of products I can't get anywhere else, or I would NEVER come back. read more

This place is shit! I asked for help to my car since I'm 5.1 and 115 lbs. I had 600 lbs of flour and 300 of butter and four cases of bread. The manager didn't even acknowledged it. It's definitely not their problem that I'm small, and need help. But the damn rudeness is unnecessary , I didn't get the managers name but he was shit. Woman behind me placed an order over the phone I believe, the cashier asked him (the manager) about it and his response was "how would I know?" What da fuck! Also, everyone working here is miserable and ungrateful . I'm scared to even ask how they are. Except for Hector, he's amazing, always cherry and ready to help with anything and everything. read more

Ted M is right - almost all of the complaints are from the family members who do not understand what this place is here for. It is a supply house for people who know their stuff, buy it repeatedly, and who comprehend that the world is_not_ revolving around them. No, you cannot leave the cart unattended and shlep away to look at something. No, they do not have bag checkers who carry your stuff to your car and load it, and yes - the cashiers are slow as they have to walk around the cart loaded to the cashiers' height or higher and scan stuff off it. NOBODY places their goods on the conveyor belts there, even if they can - so first the cashier scans the stuff, and then the checker makes sure that she has not missed anything - with the average check being in the many hundreds, it is hard to blame them for taking loss prevention seriously. To the pregnant lady that was not helped - yell "check on XX" is a part of the check-out process - she has never conveyed your request for help to anyone, so nobody has come to your help. Management does listen to the complaints - the VN location is expanding and give shelving maps (they were always available at the front check-in). Their warehousemen _usually_ are correct when you ask them about the location of the specific products. Out of three times I have asked - once the item was out of stock and twice it was where they said it should have been. Fish guys - I remember the younger "well built" guy and he was not very attentive, but there is a middle-aged Latino person there who is beyond great in customer service and product knowledge. That being said - everything they have for sale with the exception of salmon roe (1 kilo box) is "right there" so there is little to ask or wait for unless you want a grocery-level service in the warehouse setting. They do not counsel whether you should poach your salmon or bake it and at what temperature, but THEIR FRESH SALMON IS THE BEST for the price and then some. Things they cannot do - small clarifications that require floor manager's involvement. At least, not on the weekends. If there is a cart in the freezer with big sign AA and BB are on sale, but there is a little bit of CC from the same manufacturer sitting on it that logically should be on sale too - I was never been able to have it clarified. Another pet peeve of mine - often the monthly flyer gives the price by the case and individually (i.e. 1/2 or 1/4 of the case,) but the floor person says that "maybe some other locations, but we sell this by the case only." Lamb leg and shoulder are my witnesses - case only, even when the ad says "each". Things they do not have - "higher-end" beef/pork meats. I guess, "the industry" does not buy high-end boiled hams and such. They have mid-high Chicken and Turkey though. Bottom line - remember, it is a professional place for repeated professional customers that tolerates family members. If you see a box and want less than a box - it's not going to happen; if you see a product and want a special deal or cut of it - it's not going to happen; if you are in line and there is a guy with three carts in front of you - go get some free coffee and think where are you going to fit in the fridge all that meat and fish you have bought, it will take a while for him to check out, etc. read more

I have been going to RD almost every morning since my restaurant opened in June and I am very pleased that it exists. They have a wide variety of everything from produce to seafood, paper product, fresh bread, small-wares and equipment. The prices are generally lower than the purveyors because they don't have to deliver it to you and they don't have to pay a salesperson. There are some specialty items that they don't carry (like Yoo Hoo) and I certainly don't buy my hot dogs there, some specialty paper items but I must say, for a new restaurant owner it sure has helped me with the bottom line. Yeah, I have to schlep there every morning but I am willing to do it because not only do I see the tomatoes before I buy them but I save about 10% over the purveyors. read more

I have been to many locations and this is by far the most helpful. The lines were long but they seem to be long at every location . This location is easy to navigate and there are many more than happy associates to help you with any questions you may have. Parking was a big congested as they were re-paving half of it . read more

Buyer beware. I have been coming here for 7 years. They now make you take everything out of your cart, they then scan it and load it back onto your cart. In today's order, I purchased two boxes of filet mignon 8 oz portions for valentines Day (they are individually sealed into portions and lasts for a long time). I got back to my restaurant and both boxes were missing even though I was charged for them. Who thinks to check their cart after buying their items, I always look over my receipt but never think to check that my items were all put back onto my cart? I sure didn't, I just loaded my SUV without taking inventory as usual. I called and of course to no avail. I used a small blue 2-shelf cart and left nothing behind on it, I always double check, and everything refrigerated or frozen goes directly into my two large coolers. Guess an employee will be eating a couple hundred dollars on my dime for a while. Pisses me off. read more
