Not only are the prices are expensive, the owners also seem to be lacking the funds to provide adequate security measures. Despite being aware of the presence of robbers in the area, they have taken no action to address the issue. As a result, both my wife and another individual with a significant amount of money were robbed. It's concerning that the owners have not taken any steps to ensure the safety of their customers. The staff at All restaurant depot are not very helpful. You can have a load of stuff on your cart and they will not offer or budge any help. I rather drive all the way to New Taiwan in El Monte, all the staff there are super helpful meaning they will follow you and grab each items for you and help you load all the stuff to your car. Depot should also practice that. read more

The WORST RESTAURANT DEPOT LOCATION! The workers are not very helpful, they dont care about customer service. They are very uncourteous as well. Check also your receipts, they tend to overcharge. I got a one day pass with the front desk to purchase king crab legs here. It was $180 for 10 lbs in a box = $18/lb. Grocery stores sell them for $26+ per lb. All the legs were meaty and no broken pieces like advertised on the box. You can find them on your right fridge once you walk in. read more

Dropped the ball big time lately. Needed to ask for something dropped and the high low never came to drop it so I had to go somewhere else. Would be nice if I didn't have to go to the front and ask for things to be dropped and then wait 20 to 30 minutes for it to be dropped. I shop here for food supplies for a small business, and they are generally pretty good. Its kinda a fun field trip, too, a huge warehouse (yes there is a membership required and I think you need a resale certificate to join) filled to the brim with everything you need for a food business. The large area that is a walk-in fridge is c-c-c-old and has veggies, frozen food, cheeses and meats, etc. Love the paper items, straws, cups, giant pizza pans, chefwear, aprons, etc. I would advise to thoroughly check the prices on things here, however. On many items it is slightly higher than Sam's or Costco. Also, their selections are hit and miss, often, they run out (particularly fresh veggies: out of diced onions last time we were there- waahaat?) and you must carefully check expiration dates. The employees are also hit n' miss, be careful- recently a special-order item was not pulled properly as promised and it screwed me for a big event. No bueno. I will forgive them this time, although next time I'll be calling to re-confirm. read more

I was wayyyyy surprised with how many things were overpriced!! Compared to Amazon, Costco, and even Smart n Final, Restaurant Depot seriously isn't that great. I got my membership and strolled the isles but was continuously shaking my head with the prices. Once again this is one of the best Restaurant Depot that I've dealt with especially the front end manager (Michael) always there to help you out, I explained to him that on 4/25/14 among other things I've purchased a bundle of bags the count should be in two hundred and fifty, when I got back to my shop I realize the bundle was opened and only half the bags were there 125. So came in today to purchase more bags among other things spoke to the manager Michael explain to him what happened and he only charged me half price. Wonderful place awesome manager. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I have shopped here several times...sometimes several times a week lol. Obviously this is where restaurants shop so there is tons of stuff in bulk, but they do have the option to buy single items which is perfect for when I do small catering events. All of the people that work there are so amazing and super nice! They always offer to help, if you need something up high or heavy they are right there to get it for you. They normally have nice boxes to box your stuff up in and then they help you to your car. There have been a few times where we have gotten produce that isn't the freshest and sometimes meat as well (our fault for not checking the expiration date) BUT...They have no problem taking it back, and you can get credit to exchange or get cash back. They have a great selection of cheese, lots of fresh veggies including a good selection of asian vegetables, young coconuts which are hard to find sometimes and lots more! Most everything is priced way better then anywhere else but I do agree with Elsie that there are a few things that could be priced a little better at other stores...like chocolate chips. All in all this is a great place with amazing people and if you have the way to get there then go...meaning find a place with a membership and borrow the card or find a way to get a membership through an organization. This new location just opened a few months ago & I've been about 3 times. I think most people don't know about it yet because I never see many customers shopping when I'm there. It is a cash and carry & membership is required & free when you show them proof that you are purchasing for a business/organization. The staff there are really friendly, always walking around asking if you need any assistance. All of their items are constantly in stock, organized & available to order in bulk. The only thing is that some prices on certain items are a better deal elsewhere if you're willing to bargain hunt. read more

I was excited to check out this Restaurant Depot because I frequent the Anaheim location and the Walnut store is right by my house. Meh. I'm going back to Anaheim. It feels half the size of the one on Kraemer (it might be) and the main reason that I went was to grab some fresh fish for today's special during Lent. Anaheim has a massive fresh fish counter but Walnut only has salmon. One fish. Whoopee. In fact the entire refrigerated section of their store is inferior to Anaheim. Nothing looked particularly bad just much smaller scale and no selection. I'll probably stop in if I'm in dire need but otherwise I'll probably stick to (Gasp!) Sysco. read more

Came here for the first time cause it's closer to where I stay. This is a smaller warehouse compared to the ones in LA like less than half the size of a warehouse in LA. If you shop for a small food business? This is the place, you can pick up everything you need weather you cater or have a restaurant. I really like the meat selection, if you know how to, you can buy a big piece of meat and butcher it down to single portions. There is even an instructional video playing near the cash register. The staff was very helpful. As a responsible shopper, you should always check the expiration date before purchasing. Also I have been there twice and have not seen a fresh fish section.
