Thought we'd give this place a try on a drive from Steamboat to Denver on a Friday. Only three other couples were seated ahead of us. The rest of the place empty. It was 1 pm and we were hungry. Sticker shock when we saw the menu. Most plates ranged in the upper teens to mid-twenties plus. These are more dinner prices. We ordered right away, and waited close to 50 minutes to get our food. My burrito was OK, but hardly any guacamole and sour cream -the beans were extremely salty. Cost us over $43 with a basic tip. So the big four: Price, taste, ambiance and service were very lacking. The waitress was nice, but not very quick on picking up plates for the customers, or on running our credit card. Will not be going here again. read more

We were the only table to have diners there. Should have known. I tried this place a year ago. I was hoping it would be better. It was not!!! I looked at my empty water glass the whole time. Guac was as bland and tasteless as any substance to ever cross my lips. It didnt even taste like avocados in the slightest. They brought two of three meals out. Those two were almost done eating by the time my terrible fajitas were served. Again, no flavor to even shrimp fajitas. How they removed the flavor of shrimp from the shrimp, I don't know. Oh, and one tiny teaspoon of things like sour cream with my meal. You would be better off going hungry than eating here. Never again. read more

Our server was very friendly with just the right amount of attentiveness. I ordered the Chicken Mole Enchiladas which is one of my favorite dishes and it was excellent! The sweet with spicy was perfect! Very similar to my own Great Grandmother's recipe. So Thank You Los Amigos! So hard to find the flavor of Mexican food my family prefers to eat (in this area). My husband ordered the shrimp tacos and he was very happy the taste and portions. We are from Texas where Mexican food is abundant but are here in the CO and WY area often and are so happy to have this gem. Introduction: I can't afford to spend the night in Steamboat, but still wanted to ski nonetheless. Found a cheap hotel in Kremmling, and picked to eat here. The good: Not too shabby! First let's start with the good. I got the Chile relleno burrito and it was superb. And it came out pretty quick, and was very big! Also my waitress was very nice. The not-so-good: I was given the wrong check after the meal which was quickly corrected, but I have been burned on this before at other places! Also it took a while to get my beverages. One of the chips in my basket was not fully cooked and kinda rubbery. Now... I like it that way but normal people don't haha so I'll knock off a few points there. Conclusion: Look, it's a Mexican joint in a town of 1,500 people. If you are stopping in Kremmling for some reason, this is a great place to go. read more

Wow! Heaven sent me a margarita! Stopped for a meal & discovered this fantastic little place. All the happy things about a Mexican restaurant, nice fresh chips, salsa with real flavor, diverse menu-and without question some of the best margaritas you'll ever have. I ordered an "ultimate" but they were out of Gran Gala, so the server suggested Hornitos as a substitute. Ask for it, YUM! I normally find this place to be decent, however we waited 25 minutes to even have someone come and ask for our drink order. We pulled the owner aside and asked if someone was assigned to our table, and still waited another 5 minutes before someone showed up. She even passed by our table 5 times in those 5 minutes without taking our order. People who were seated after us were seated and served at least their drinks before someone even came to greet us. When we were greeted, we mentioned the wait time, and the waiter said "you aren't the only ones". The comment surprised me and unconcerned and unapologetic. Really unfortunate. Once we got our food, we didn't get utensils or napkins for quite a while. Food was okay, but the staff seemed really overwhelmed and frantic. Unfortunately, we won't be back soon. We're about to order entrees, may we get some chips and salsa please? Not until you order. Sigh. We order. May I speak with a manager please? This new policy frustrates me. She disappears. Comes back, no chips and salsa. No manager. Starts explaining their new policy. Something regarding 2nd basket being wasteful. I'm like I don't care. Charge me for the 2nd. Charge me for the 1st. Just please bring chips and salsa. She walks off, says Jesus Christ this f***ing table loud enough for me to hear, and we walked out. Maybe I'll try again next summer. read more

OK, so first of all, we almost always stop in here on our way up to Steamboat. It's not that the food is amazing, because it's just A-OK. It's not that the seating is ideal or the ambiance is to die for. In fact, I think the only reason we stop here every time is location, location, location. It was early afternoon when we got here and there were maybe four other patrons in the restaurant. After browsing the menu that featured your usual Mexican restaurant staples I chose to nosh on the chicken fajita burrito. It was delicious! Such great flavor! The service was slower than we expected, but that wasn't an issue since we weren't in a hurry. Our server kept us well supplied with chips, salsa, and bean dip to curb our appetites while we waited. This is a great restaurant to stop at after going rafting! We were going to go for bbq, but this place smelled great when passing by...it did not disappoint! The service was great and the food was so much better than it looked on the menu. The ceviche tostadas and the seafood soup were great! The enchiladas and the taquito plate were also very good. No separate checks is promptly displayed up front when you walk in. So me and my 3 amigos saunter in after a nice hard shift. We sit and order something to drink. I get a Jaritos and so does someone else. They only have 2 or 3 flavors. When we order I get a combo plate consisting of rellenos, enchilada, and tamale. The fare is fair. Typical refried beans, rice, lettuce side salad with a dollop of sour cream. Chips and salsa are free, bag chips and canned salsa. My food is average it is uninspired psuedo authentic Mexican. I feel like nothing had a serious zest. This place is super meh. Overall this Mexican food leaves a lot to be desired. When it comes time to pay we ask about the one check per party policy. Server says he could've split the check if we said something earlier. He comes back and gives us a handwritten check. We go over to pay at the register. Where he punches in each line. So you're telling me this guy couldnt have spent an extra 5 minutes, when we were the only ones in his restaurant, to write out 3 different checks? That's some bull read more

It's not fair to give this place 4 or 5 stars if the food is great but everything else in the place is crap. The worst part was the service, it was HORRIBLE! The waiter was horrendous, he lost our order once, had to come back and ask us for it a second time... and then he still got half of the orders wrong at our table! To make it even better... we asked him for separate checks (only 4 people) when we initially ordered but because he lost those tickets he refused to separate our bill when it was time to pay! Oh and BTW if you are a Mexican restaurant and 9 out of 22 of your specialty drinks are Margaritas... then don't tell your customers that they can't order a Margarita because you "ran out of Margarita mix". Your located across the street from an open liquor store! Margarita mix isn't even regulated! You can buy it anywhere! Rant over. The chicken is bursting with flavor! Tender and perfectly seasoned. The burrito is huge (as the name suggests) and smothered in the creamy green chili sauce all homemade. My brother ordered the Steak Burrito which was beefy, spicy, and again smothered in delicious green chili. I ordered the al a Carte tacos and then a pork tamales. The tacos were not worth eating but BOY the Tamales sure was!!! This little gem on the road to Steamboat springs is a must. Authentic Mexican dishes and spicy salsa with chips. Had the beef enchiladas and they were dynamite. The sauce was a red sauce but most def not of the can variety. The Mrs had the chicken burrito and it did not disappoint. Obviously we had the deep fried ice cream and agreed we each should have gotten our own, not because of size but because it was so good. We drove to Steamboat Springs last weekend and made Kremmling our lunch stop. Los Amigos is the hot spot for locals and advertises the best margarita in Grand county. The service is friendly and the location is easy to get in and clean. I would give an extra star for this alone but the food was just not up to par. I had huevos and sausage and never did figure out what the sausage was; the Husband said it looked like scrapple. His enchilada and chili rellano had way too much cheese and not enough flavor. The lady at the next table was sniffing her shrimp and complaining about the smell; she finally pushed them to the side of her shrimp salad. I could hear her husband telling her she should have known better than to order shrimp in Kremmling. I can see where this would be a fun place to drink and eat chips especially if you live in Grand County. However, I think I will pass and stop at one of the other places in town if lunch is needed between Denver and Steamboat Springs. read more

I think this place is pretty good. The food isn't the best I have had but I wouldn't turn away from it; besides, it is the only mexican place I know of within about 40 or so miles. I have had a few things there and they have all been pretty good. The service is average, never had an issue, and the price seems just fine. Stopped here on our way back from Steamboat Springs and it was just perfect. Well priced, authentic, and delicious Mexican food. I had the chicken fajitas and my roommate had the cheese enchilada and guacamole tostada. My chicken fajitas were amazing and whatever they cooked them in had a hint of sweetness. I would have liked more guacamole with my entree -- my portion was about the size of a quarter. We both got iced teas and they were really diligent about refilling them. Perfect after a day in the sun. My roommate enjoyed her entree but when I tried it I thought that the guacamole was a little bland. Don't get me wrong -- the avocado was clearly ripe and well prepared but the guac needed onions, or even some salt. I think it was just mashed avocados. Our waitress was really friendly and courteous. I can't wait to go back! read more
