A variety of tacos, al pastor and asada

This duel threat of Mexican grocery store and restaurant is superb! Partner and I came in around dinner time and were met with a small line to order our food. The staff are very polite and welcoming while taking your order and delivering food to your table. The laid back casual nature of the interior may not be everyone's jam but the food is stellar! Can't recommend the asada tacos enough, the rice was delicious beans were okay! Definitely a nice hidden little gem of a spot

When a friend recommends a local spot for tacos, I have to check it out. And I couldn't have asked for a better recommendation for tacos that hit the spot! This taco joint is legit--you order at a counter on one side, get your salsa bar fixings, and sit in the very colorful seating area while you wait for them to call out your order! While you wait (it's only a short wait!), you can look around the store area--so many goodies, produce, and meat offerings for you to take your pick from! My favorites are the carne asada and shredded beef tacos--you have the option of corn or flour tortillas (both look bomb!), and then you get to dress them up with anything you'd want from the salsa bar. I didn't get any dessert (so many regrets!), but there are a ton of desserts in the refrigerator in the seating area--flan and chocoflan looked amazing! Overall, what a great spot to check out when you're near Silverthorne!

Solid food and seems very authentic which was super surprising for the area. Cashier didn't speak english which was fine. I should have brought more cash for this place. The tacos were solid and very filling. The sauce bar is great. It is quite hot inside but there's outside seating. The loaded burrito was a little much and was huge.

I am a big fan of finding solid food located in Ski towns where it usually is difficult to fan affordable and delicious food. Carniceria La Perla looked to be well liked by the Silverthorne community, so we decided to stop by on our way out of the mountains on a Sunday around noon. There aren't many spots immediately outside the restaurant as it was full when we arrived, but fortunately there are more spots in the nearby shopping area very close that are about a 2-3 minute walk away. The ambiance of the restaurant is exactly what I am looking for when I go to a small Mexican market/eatery - authentic food, music, and decorations throughout the entire restaurant. It feels like you are stepping into a small mom and pop store in Mexico to enjoy some delicious food. I got a couple of tacos, ranging from carne asada, barbacoa, and lengua. For each, taco they do pile the meat on as you can see in the photo, and you can try many different flavors before going back up and ordering more. They also have an extensive sauce bar that you can top your food with - though be warned if you can't handle spice, some of the sauces really do pack a punch in terms of heat! I think my favorite out of the meat options was the barbacoa - really moist, hearty, and comforting to eat on a cold day. I would say in terms of ranking Carniceria La Perla to other local restaurants, you can't get more authentic and tasty food in a mountain ski town. It does lean more pricey (you'll probably spend at least $15 - $20 for a meal here) compared to tacos I've had at other similar establishments, but I understand that they need to charge what they charge to make a living here in expensive Silverthorne. I would definitely come back in the future to try the other options they have to offer!

I thought I was in Mexico. The restaurant/grocery store is a hole-in the-wall. It's a little dirty. Isles are stuffed with random food items. Pinatas are hanging from the walls. There are piles of Mexican candies cluttering the counters. The guy in line in front of me ordered 10 dozen corn tortillas and told me it was "durante la semana." But... The food is authentic and outstanding. The staff are very friendly. Its noisy, busy, and a bit chaotic with ten people behind a quasi butcher counter taking orders, cleaning, prepping, and cooking. It's the best Mexican "taco shop" food I've had in Colorado. I highly recommend stopping in for a bite and the experience.

The food is INCREDIBLE and the sweetest humans work here!! I ordered their Carne Asada SMOTHERED burrito... wouldn't be my typical order at a Mexican Restaurant but i will dream about this burrito daily until I get it again. I was craving tortilla chips to pair with it, and they don't typically serve them but the sweet man made them fresh just for us 10/10 service + food

Such a great Mexican restaurant! Been here twice and both times haven't let me down. Got the carne asada smothered burrito this time and loved the steak in this! I love the salsa bar here - they have salsa for everyone! Their pickled onions and jalapeños were my favorite. This restaurant is attached to a market where you can go shopping for hispanic ingredients, snacks, and pastries. Got flan on my way out and it didn't disappoint! Cannot recommend this place enough if you're in the area or heading back from the slopes!

Authentic Mexican flavor in Silverthorne. 1/2 restaurant 1/2 grocery store. Haven't have such good taco or burrito since LA. Tacos asado, pork and lengua were great. Asado burrito was good and massive. Props to the salsa station. We were the only non Mexicans here, and Spanish is the language here. This is the type of food I enjoy, my dinner mate was very impressed. Support your local small businesses!

Carne Asada Tacos, Beef & Cheese Burrito, and Guacamole

Authentic. Delicious. Quick. We were passing through and wanted some good Mexican food. It's a half grocery store, half restaurant. Everyone is super nice. 10/10 I will definitely be back.

    Yummy Salsa Bar.

I feel at home here. That is my Texas home, Houston. I am reminded of early places like Fiesta on North Shepherd, Airline foodie joints and Ninfa's on Navigation. All with the vibe of authentic Tex-mex and a smile. Gringos get the up and down look, but I so not blame them. My heart breaks with the lose of many.

Truly authentic Mexican food! Highly recommend the tacos, specifically the Barbacoa and steak! Salsa bar is available with different levels of spice, and vegetables. Staff was very friendly and food was made fast! Everything was warm and flavorful. When you're done eating, you can walk to the other side and embrace a little bit of Mexico, shop for your favorite Mexican cooking items and treats/ candy! Highly recommend!

This is like you are in Mexico. As authentic as it can be. The restaurant is inside the market. Don't be fooled by the look of the establishment. We had street tacos with carnitas and carne asada. Real deal here. The price is reasonable and the staff is cool, too.

The evening started with them not remembering the food allergy that I told you about when i submitted your survey, but I digress. We started with a martini and an old fashioned. The martini was tasty but half of it was missing like where's the rest of my drink ‍. Second I had to ask for plates, not sure how you forget but remembered to give them to the table next to me ‍. At this point I'm over it and prefer my experience at raticato. Next strike, you ask us to order everything and you'll course it out but instead you interrupt us mid chew and ask to clear the table for our meals, absolutely unacceptable. How do you rush your customers. I get it's 8pm but you're open until 9:30 and if you're in a rush go home and send a server that wants to be there. Service, service, service. It was absolutely non existent and at a restaurant that isn't McDonalds prices, do better. You never came back to our table and asked if the food came out ok or if we needed more drinks. As a matter of fact, my spouse walked to the bar and ordered their own drink, unacceptable. Absolutely ridiculous. We couldn't enjoy our meal because the service was so poor and I'd absolutely not return. We had the Halibut, which was tasty but could do without the ro and the chicken dish, which was prepared well. The steak tartare was just ok and the bread and hummus was a good addition. Nah, wouldn't recommend. Please have a conversation with Olivia Z., if she's having a day she needs to exit and not work that day in hospitality. P.s. she also rushed another table that wanted to enjoy the chicken dish but she was too focused on leaving that she told them they should get dessert instead.

We were about to get a last minute reservation for Saturday - although the bar seating is nice and cozy and usually always has spots open. The host Chase was super friendly and welcoming. The salad had the best vinaigrette and while I didn't take a picture (I was so excited to eat that I forgot), the steak frites was out of this world. The jamon fat fries were insane. So crispy and so flavorful. But the steak? Woah. Not a big portion, but that's not surprising for tapas! Cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly-- aka, perfection. We ordered about 10 different toppers for the table, so it was pretty good odds to find a couple that weren't winners, but I have to be honest. The ambience is so cute, very swanky, but anything in Colorado still feels casual because everyone shows up in flannels and T-shirts. We had a 5 o'clock reservation and were sat right on time, and the service was really great. I started with a Pisco sour, one of my favorite drinks and really uncommon to find in this part of the world. It was delicious. I could've drank five of them. We shared a bunch of tapas for the table, starting with the patatas bravas, octopus, ceviche, duck wings, yuca frita, croquetas, gyozas, and shishito peppers. The clear winner was the ceviche - not your typical Peruvian style, made with salmon and a thicker aji amarillo sauce. It was absolutely amazing and served with these yummy plantain chips that paired so well with it. Those were also a big standout. The texture was perfect both outside and inside. I liked the octopus too, and the patatas bravas were good but felt they could have been a little more crispy on the outside and had the sauce more well-distributed. The wings really were not memorable, overly breaded and thickly sauced. The yuca was the biggest letdown of the night, usually one of my favorite dishes, but these tasted like they came frozen from a bag and did not even finish microwaving before they were served. Still, I loved some of these dishes so much that I would definitely come back and stick with what I liked and try some new things too. Thanks!
