This restaurant is very inconsiderate about people's personal commentaries I called to make an order over the phone and the girl who answered was really rude and she didn't name me the prices of what I ordered back to me when I realized she was overcharging me i called back because their menu online has different prices and they should consider changing it up or at least honoring the prices. The guy who answered me on the second try kept asking me if I still wanted my order instead of apologizing for their mistake, and hearing me out. I work in the restaurant industry as well but have never been treated unfairly like this. read more

I visited this restaurant recently for dinner. Its Italian and Mexican, with a very simple menu. Honestly, a lot of the items on the menu seemed like stuff I could make at home and I just didn't see enough special touches for me to be able to recommend this. My friend ordered pasta with shrimp that she really loved, but I was skeptical that the pasta was homemade. I ordered enchiladas and got an ensalada- maybe my fault but it was still a disappointment. I ate it without complaint, thinking maybe it was the universe's way of telling me to eat more vegetables on my trip to Chicago. We also got garlic bread at the table, which was good, but kind of tasted like Texas toast from the freezer section of the grocery store. Just meh. read more

Hubby and I stopped by before we ran an errand and glad we did. We got their seafood pasta in wine sauce, lamb chops, and asada tacos. It was all truly so good! Yes, it is a little hole on the wall place but it my favorite! The Italian food is absolutely delicious. My favorite would be the appetizers, but that is because I am a sucker for calamari. I have had a ton of Calmari in my day but this is by far the best!!! I cannot rave enough about the sauce that it is jn. If you want some unique and delicious food, you need to try some here. We come here when we crave a good pasta dish. The micheladas are always good. Service is not always the best and the restaurant could use some cleaning and upgrades here and there. Weekend dining can get a bit tight, but during the week, we've had times where we're the only customers. read more

I love this place, very authentic Mexican food. They have the best green chilaquiles, camarrones a la diabla and believe it or not the best lemon chicken linguini. Big portions for a great price. Best place for Langostinos with a cold Mexican beer. Recommend going for brunch. read more

Great tasting authentic food. Everything that I have ordered has been delicious. The service is very friendly. I have been coming to this place since 2009. Very clean and very good for family and children. I like that the owner is an active cook in the kitchen and his wife is active in serving along a couple of other waitresses which also includes their daughters. a hole in the wall, honestly. not a lot of people know about this place but i've been coming here for over 5 years and the quality has stayed the same! their langostinos have such an amazing sauce to them and their chicken tortellini pasta is phenomenal. Very diner-esque with a huge menu. Gloomy atmosphere with weird wood paneling. Waitress service, despite cafeteria-looking counter. Food was A-OK . The husband had huevos Mexicanos, and said they were good. My burrito was OK. Nothing special. If you are in the neighborhood and El Faro is closed or full, this place is OK. I live in the neighborhood and this restaurant is usually in my family's list to go out and eat at. For the most part service as good, I've never had bad service here. Sometimes it is a little slow but nothing to get very upset about. Atmosphere wise, it's never crowded. The interior design and decor are mediocre, nothing amazing to gaze at. There are tv's though. Food is usually good. I haven't tried everything on the menu as they do have a lot of variety, but their tortas, pastas, quesadillas, and calamari are very good. I recommend those dishes. You get chips and salsa appetizers plus water which I think is always good. Overall, I enjoy their savory food as well as my family does and that is why we go back. read more

Food and drinks were good. What I didn't like was that since live music was going to play they kept rushing us to leave at 9pm, this was Saturday night. We asked if we could sit by the bar the waitress claimed there were no seats. According to the waitress after 9pm it's only reservation seating and they put papers on all the tables with names. I didn't understand, If we were there eating and buying drinks why rush us. They kept asking if we were ok walking back and forth, we felt very uncomfortable. read more

I've passed through this block a million times and never thought twice to check this place out . My friend took me for lunch it's his hidden gem... He ordered. We had shrimp in a langostino sauce for appetizer served with garlic bread. Not on the menu but please try it. Wow... This sauce is worth a million dollars. It's orange juice,garlic, red pepper and a few other things I can't pick out. You dip the garlic bread in the sauce. Had I been alone I may have licked the plate! Then I had ceviche the Pescado. I felt like the lemon juice tasted a bit artificial. Next I had coctel de Camaron , I added in Valentina and I was super happy! Finished off with a topo Chico mineral water for healthy carbonation .
