New to the El Sauzal area, just north of Ensenada is a poppin new restaurant and bar themed with Olympic Gods and awesome, colorful artwork. Pretty to look at, but definitely tasted great too!
Admittedly, I was surprised. Personally I'm not a fan of sprawling menus, so when I saw they served tacos, pizza AND sushi, I was reasonably apprehensive. But I'll be darned, EVERY dish we ordered (and WE ORDERED), was delicious.
First up, pizza: Quattro Formaggi - Well sized, designed to share for two or feed a small ogre. Tasty, solid rating.
Sushi: a friend ordered two rolls, don't recall what they were but they were HUGE. Be forewarned, Olympo doesn't play around! Very well rated if that's what you're in the mood for.
Tacos: oh my lanta. Get the tacos. Still get everything else, but get the tacos! You have a protein selection of all the usual suspects (asada, chicken, yada yada..) but they have sausage and cheese !? (Kind of tastes like pepperoni pizza and tacos made a baby. Weird but definitely didn't hate it) and for our vegan friends (or just veggie lovers like myself) they have a roasted mushroom taco that IS FANTASTIC sweet Jesus.
The staff were super great, parking right out front and going later on a Thursday night we were pleasantly surprised to find a dj playing great vibey tunes. Of note, they also do serve non alcoholic Tecate beers which is really cool for our designated drivers!
Not sure exactly how long Olympo has been in business, but they definitely will be seeing me again next time in Ensenada ! read more
