We were devastated with the passing of our 15 yr. old dog. We didn't know how to handle it. Called Restful Pets late at night and the person I spoke with was compassionate and attentive. We were able to bring our dog the following morning and had his body cremated. His ashes was placed in a beautiful rosewood box with his name on it, and we also got his paw print on clay as a remembrance. Thank you so much.

What can I say? Losing a pet is one of the hardest things to go through. Then having to decide what to do after they're gone can feel so overwhelming. Mark was so kind and understanding. We decided to have a viewing at our home for our beloved dog who passed away. The day he passed, Mark was able to pick him up and allowed us as much time as we needed to grieve. He created a great proposal and got our input on everything. We had options for flowers, location, catering; you name it, Mark thought of it. Ultimately we chose to have it at home and Mark was able to accommodate and organize everything very short notice (one business day). The day of the viewing Mark came early to set everything up. He treated our boy humanely and with as much respect as you would a person. It was so beautiful and I am so happy we went this route. My heart is at peace and I cannot recommend Restful Pets enough. We owe it to our loyal companions to send them off with dignity and love.

I am so thankful for having found The Restful Pets. My husband and I had to make the most difficult decision of our lives to put our beloved maltipoo, Frappuccino, to sleep on Monday, September 9th. He was only supposed to have an ultrasound and surgery to remove a growth in his intestine, but it turned out that he had cancer in his intestine and it was too late due to it spreading. We were heartbroken. The next two days after his passing, I spent practically all day those two days trying to find a facility where they do funeral memorial services. I called almost three dozen of them, and out of all of those called, two three of them only do quick viewings where they just leave his body out without preparing it, and it had to be on a weekday since they're closed on the weekend. I didn't want a quick viewing, I wanted his picture enlarged, flowers, music and his body nicely prepared for family and friends along with their fur babies to come and see him to say their goodbyes. It was almost 10pm that Wednesday when I finally found Restful Pets. It was late when I called, and I was prepared to leave a message, but to my surprise Mark answered the phone. We spoke for almost half an hour, I told him about the emotional story of what happened and how I want a proper memorial service. Mark was very understanding and compassionate during our conversation. He said that we can definitely get a service put together for Frappuccino. It was Wednesday, September 11th when we spoke that evening and I had the service held on Saturday, September 21st. Family and friends had never heard of a pet funeral service, this was their first and they said it was beautiful. We held the venue at the clubhouse at my mother-in-law's community since they are pet friendly, but the original venue that Mark showed me was beautiful. We couldn't hold it there since they aren't pet friendly, but he was helping me find another venue. There were two alternative places that I thought we beautiful, but luckily the clubhouse ended up being available and pet friendly. I just want to say thank you to Mark and Justine (the coordinator who helped the day of Frappuccino's funeral service). Everything was beautiful. And I could tell you took good care of him. My friends who had never met Frapp and went to the service were happy to have had the chance to somehow meet him, and they said he looked so peaceful as if he was just sleeping during the service. I was glad to have the chance to properly say goodbye to my first child and even give a eulogy about how wonderful he was and the memories we have with him. I highly recommend Restful Pets to those who are looking to hold a service for your beloved fur baby.

We lost our best friend unexpectedly a little over a month ago. We knew we wanted him cremated so we could keep him with us. The company gave us a time frame that they would pick him up from our house, and they arrived right on time. When Mark arrived, I was hysterically sobbing. He told me to take all the time I needed to say goodbye. I asked if he could please keep him wrapped up in his favorite blanket until he was cremated. I just cannot express how kind and compassionate this company was during one of the hardest days of my life. When I went to pick up our dogs ashes they came in a beautiful hand carved box. No one wants to go through this, but when the time inevitably comes, this company will treat you and your pet with the utmost dignity and care. I am so thankful for the experience with them.

Kind, respectful and prices were very comparable to other places. The urn is beautifully designed.

They said that we could come in asap and that there was no wait period, which I appreciated. On top of that, he empathized and was patient with me when I sobbed on the phone because it happened so soon. Which I truly appreciated since it proved to me that Shane is a real one. Dr. Park's contact information provided a phone number where we can communicate via text, so I texted an initial inquiry on a Saturday afternoon, not expecting a prompt response. Within 30 minutes, Dr. Park responded. Thankfully, she was available for a Monday morning appointment. She provided links to all the pertinent information needed: pricing, process, and FAQs. Also provided were the necessary links to book the services. Dr. Park arrived at the scheduled appointment time and immediately sought to comfort our dog and our family. After reviewing the process with us again, she made sure to answer all our questions and only proceeded when we stated we were ready. She waited patiently while we said our final farewells before proceeding. The procedure went exactly as described, and Dr. Park provided much needed words of comfort once our beloved pup crossed over. She placed his body in a modest basket carrier, complete with flowers, and gave us the time we needed before taking him away. We couldn't have asked for more with the service Dr. Park provided. She exceeded our expectations to lay our dog to rest with the utmost dignity. We fully appreciate the service Dr. Park provided and highly recommend her services. She even sent us a sympathy card a few days after, a nice touch! Her pricing is transparent and reasonable. Thank you so much, Dr. Park!

As we both began to decline from terminal illness and disabilities, where mine progressing caused my attention to split- This caused further issues for her wellbeing and safety. Part ways with my other half, and lay my baby to rest. To have an angel of a mobile vet come to us, so Lucy would not need to be in pain and anxiety in a car to a clinic, then scared in a clinic as her final moment, was a huge gift. Then what saved me from full blown drowning after, is finding Pets Rest. Where I could stay with Lucy's remains, and all the way through. This option to witness was a must for me. To never take my eye off of her ever again, even after her passing. This was not something I even knew I could do, until looking into Pets Rest. The got us in very quickly, in just 2 days. The chapel, the grounds, the employees-everyone and everything about this business is absolutely beautiful. Perhaps an example of something I've heard of called "sacred commerce". They're not trying to get rich here. In fact I wonder how they afford to be so fair and generous. Taking no shortcuts, but going the extra miles to create and maintain such a gorgeous heartwarming setting. Giving us plenty of time to grieve and say goodbye, in their Saint Charles Chapel. What I got out of this experience, I'm sure would cost a fortune anywhere in the country. And here this is San Francisco... The operator was so kind, patient, compassionate and very informative. They were so kind, as we said goodbye to our tiny boy that we had bottle fed and raised from birth. The in house diagnostics are great. We didn't have to wait long at all for the test results. The 2nd time, we brought in our elderly girl. She was 16. When her vet turned us away when we came to tell them we were coming in (they told us "maybe tomorrow"), we headed here. She'd been sick a while, we knew it was coming. Of course, that didn't make it any easier. The staff here was absolutely wonderful. As soon as we walked in, they took us out of the lobby so we wouldn't have to sit with all the happy/healthy animals. They didn't question us, they saw her and told us we were making the right choice. They brought her a soft cat bed to lay in. They gave us all the time we needed to hold her and love her, until we were ready. No pressure. Then they allowed my 16 year old daughter to hold her beloved girl until she was gone. We were allowed more time with her. Then they gave us each a vile of her beautiful fur. We weren't rushed. We did everything on our terms/time. And our girl left this world surrounded in love. My issue is with Dr.Kim Shaffer in Oncology at their specialty building. I was referred by my cat's doctor. As soon as she walked in the room I noticed that her demeanor seemed like she was irritated. Right off the bat She would barely let me get a word in trying to explain my Cat's complex situation before continually cutting me off. She even scolded me saying I needed to stop living in the past while I was trying to explain a timeline of how my cat's health had progressed to where we're at now. When I would ask about things to try and help my cat I was met with such hostility. I asked about cancer medication, she said none of them work. She told me there was nothing that could be done even though we don't have a definitive diagnosis that this is Cancer. I asked about palliative care as my cat's vet suggested she should be on reassuring me that Dr Shaffer would surely do that for us even sending over notes to Dr.Shaffer reiterating that. Well Dr Shaffer said she wasn't going to do any of that but would maybe only give her pain meds for me to take home to give by mouth when I told her it was hard to give by mouth since that's where the tumor is she acted like it wasn't her problem. I asked if she could give her an injection for pain instead which she's had in the past and she said No that wouldn't work, and that I should probably then euthanize my cat. I said she's still running around playing and eating and she snapped at me and said she's not eating! She's lost weight so she's not eating, insinuating that I'm lying to her. Everytime I turned around I was met with resistance in such a disrespectful manner and tone so I finally said to her why are you speaking to me so rudely i'm just just trying to help my cat by asking questions and why do you have such a lack of bedside manner towards me right now? I told her I was shocked by her behavior. what had I done to her to make her have this attitude towards me the minute she walked in the room and she said you just don't want to accept what I have to say which was not the case at all, I know that we're in a dire situation. It was her lack of Empathy and unwillingness to even give an inch to help my pet in any capacity while also being combative towards me, that was the problem. As a last effort I asked if we could at least run some bloodwork while we're there so I could get an idea of what my cats numbers looked like so I could make more informed decisions and she again said No! Bloodwork won't show anything. At that point I was so frustrated and I said this has been a complete waste of time and your refusal to help us with anything is unbelievable to me and then she said we're done here and I said yes we are and I said why would you waste our time if you're not even willing to do the bare minimum to help us navigate this. She then said I'm not going to take this verbal abuse and told me to leave the building! I've never been kicked out of anywhere in my 55 years on this earth. I said I'm just trying to be an advocate for my cat and I'm trying to understand why I'm being met with such hostility every step of the way and she then said I'm not giving your cat any pain medication now you'll have to go find it somewhere else. I mean, that is so INHUMANE to take it out on a helpless animal who's been waiting for this appointment for so long and not to mention UNETHICAL!!!! if you knew you weren't going to help us at all with even palliative care, then why would you even have us come in? She had all of our records weeks ahead of time to call us and let us know that. I had to sedate my cat and withhold food for 10 hours for nothing. I am still in shock over all of this as I'm sitting here watching my cat in pain. I've never had a doctor treat me like this and then act as if I'm the problem. I guess expressing discontent about the way someone is treating you constitutes as verbal abuse to her? So now my cat is still suffering and we have to try and find another Oncologist which is going to take so long. I'm just so disheartened. I've seen another oncologist here two years ago for one of our other cats that was given two months to live, and that Doctor was so helpful at making him as comfortable as possible giving us pain meds, anti-inflammatories, appetite stimulants, steroids, breathing treatments you name it and my cat actually lived another six months! That kind of caring made all the difference in the world. Unfortunately that doctor no longer works here. To treat someone the way this Doctor has treated me and to withhold treatment from my cat when we're at our lowest point right now with trying to navigate this difficult time is incomprehensible and completely Unacceptable.
