Great, solid kabob spot in Reston! I wasn't sure if they were operating during the COVID pandemic (the website is not operational), but we decided to drive by and saw that they were open! I went in to grab a menu and we quickly ordered a gyro and lamb kabob. Flavors were on point and portions were generous! 2.75stars Hm, where do I begin? The food itself wasn't too bad (I ordered the lamb kabob), however, the seasoning on top wasn't very...fresh. It's almost as if they cooked it hours earlier, put it in the fridge, then took it out to warm up in a microwave. It's $7.95 for several pieces (small ones, at that) so to me, it wasn't worth the $$. However, I've only visited this location once. I didn't order a full platter with the rice and salad, and I didn't try the gyro (which I noticed a patron feasting on, and it looked INCREDIBLE)! Maybe I should give it another go, but for now I'll settle on a lower rating. Side note: The white sauce served with the meat is absolutely delicious. I believe it's a yogurt sauce, but not quite sure. The appearance is somewhat run-down, but not in a dirty or filthy way. It just looks kind of old, and the seating isn't very comfortable. Was excited they're back, got food there a few times since they reopened and disappointing each time. Thought things would improve overtime since we ate there regularly but nope. The bread texture had changed and it's super doughy/chewy. Kabobs were burnt. Customer service is terrible- not expecting a five star service but basic manners and courtesy is not much to ask. I asked the girl how many sauces were in the back she said "I don't know" and walks away. No worries, I stood there trying to open the bag to check because I didn't want to ask more and waste sauce if they had put enough in there already. She came back to look a couple of times before rolling her eyes and basically tossing 4 sauces at me and when I said thank you she huffed and walked away. They didn't seem busy to me but being busy isn't an excuse for poor customer service. We placed a huge catering order for our company employee appreciation lunch & everyone came in for first, second and third plates...and then to go boxes haha! The food was truly delicious - the rice and meats (chicken kabob, beef kobeeda, salmon & falafel) were full of flavor. The paired sauces went great with the meal & the sides were on point! While I do think that the ole Reston Kabob was better (bigger portions, more flavorful meats, lower prices), this kebab restaurant is pretty solid (I think it is equal to the kebab place in the Dulles Town Center mall). We usually get the platters - chicken koobideh, chicken kebab and sometimes we ask for "double meat" as they give to you so much rice! One platter is more than enough to serve two people (even if you do not ask for double meat in which case, it feeds three). I did takeout two ways - once using the Yelp grubhub app and once directly calling the restaurant. There are pros and cons using either method. The prices seem lower when you call directly but you will have to pay in-store (using Yelp grubhub, you prepay) and the order taking takes a little more time. The service can be a bit brusque, but it is pretty efficient. read more

Usually this place is great. Tonight, they were really really bad. I waited one hour for my food. Another guy ahead of me left the food he ordered because they were taking too long. I over heard the lady up front state that she didn't work there and she was just "helping out". I even went out of my way and ANNOUNCED the number myself. Horrible service. No leadership. Glad this place reopened. They used to be in this area years ago and then closed and might have reopened under grill kabob in Herndon, pretty similar food. Anyway, nice atmosphere, but dirty bathrooms, tables, and high chairs when we have been in, plus they need a changing table for babies. Apart from the owner, the staff aren't very friendly and their English is limited. Good portions if you like rice. The chick peas are a nice touch. I love this place! One of the best kabobs AND rice in the area. I love their rice. The even better standout out, I'd say, I'd the bread. It's the best bread in the area! It's awesome fresh, but you need to keep the moisture in, wrapped in a ziploc bag or something if not eating right away. It seems suspicious I give 5 stars but here's why they deserve it. Not only is the price accurate for the portion size, but the quality of food is above the norm for the limited kabob selections we have in Reston/Herndon area. For my reviews, It's primarily based on my taste of their beef kobedah and chicken kabob platters. Their chickpeas is the only one I'd give 7/10 because There are different places that have somewhat better chickpeas side, but it is negligible. The side selection might be considered limited, but it's almost common knowledge that the more limited a menu seems, the higher quality their available food will be be. Again, from my experience, I've always been full from the portions which has resulted in two meals. (Bang for buck) Their bread is better or at least equal to some of the kabob places I've visited. Their chicken tastes nice, although I'm no food critic, it was from my experience tasty. Lastly, while most people ignore the salad addition, their portion of the vegetables makes it pleasant. While this might not be a big factor for others, their white sauce keeps me coming back. Good service, decent price, and great portions. I can only see how their parking as a problem if they ever run into max orders and people try to find parking spots. So.. this place did not live up to the 4-star expectation as many had given. It has potential to be 4 stars if they tweak it a bit. So I ordered the chicken and the chicken kobeeda to go. However, when I got back to the office I only got 1 type of chicken. So I just have to eat with whatever I got. The chicken was decent. The charred part was good, but the burnt part was really bitter and will leave a weird taste in your mouth. The rice was soft and fluffy, but was lacking a bit of flavors. So mad... as you can see I've reviewed this from last Sunday as I've made this my Weekend Treat. Look forward to it all week; and today I got finished mowing the lawn a little late and by the time I showered and got dressed it was about 6:30. Keep in mind I have a 20min drive; figured ok, left the house driving a little reckless cause I needed to fill my Kabob Tooth. Luckily got to the parking lot and my car clock reads 6:53; I'm fist pumping like "The Situation" surrounded by a dozen grenades. Get to the register ask kindly for the #2 Chicken Kabob and the girl replies "Sorry we're closed". My heart drops as I look at my cell phone and it reads 6:55. Douple checking their sign which says 7pm. I'm like screaming WTF (in my head) and am raging as I make the lonesome walk to Popeye's. Unfortunately, I've done this to several restaurants, but my moneys never been turned away. I've even run into the owner of Siam Classic as she was gardening the front of the restaurant 4 hours before opening and she kindly went back and cooked me up an awesome lunch to go. This place has been right down the street from work for quite a while and today was the day to try it. There were not too many people when I arrived, which had me a little worried. The place doesn't pride themselves on an aesthetically pleasing interior. In fact, its down right dingy. No matter, after ordering from about 9 pictures on the wall of each dish, I selected the 8.99 chicken kabob with bread, two kinds of rice and salad. I was hungry and it took nearly 10+ minutes for them to call my number. I think the wait just made the food that much better. The place was piled high with tender, juicy, well seasoned chicken, soft rice, a hot and fresh piece of bread and a little salad. The food was excellent and provided a huge lunch for $9.00. Why do I seem to be the only person not blown away by Reston Kabob? After reading so many good reviews I was expecting perfection but I what I got was hardly that. Don't get me wrong, the food was decent, in fact probably a tad better than decent, but I had many complaints about it that made this place hardly deserving of 4 or 5 star rating. My first complaint is that they give you SO much food. Why can't they just charge less instead of giving you two pounds of food? I got a chicken and kobeeda combo and both kabobs were seriously the size of my arm. I'd rather have a more manageable combo with a variety of meat instead of something that you pretty much have to split with someone. I'm a pretty hearty eater but I was no match for that combo and was a bit sour after spending $14 for kabob and drink, especially at lunch time. Second complaint is the tough meat, particularly the koobidah which was really heavy and dense, kind of like a burger bite at 7-11. Koobidah/kubideh, is supposed to be tender, and fall apart when grabbing with bread and pulled. This koobidah, however, I probably couldn't even cut with a knife. And this is also not to mention how stringy it was. Not very pleasant. Another disappointment is the lack of sides. Spinach, chickpeas, or lentils on top of rice are usually standard kabob sides but at RK it's just rice. And not very good rice at that. Slightly more than just basmati but not flavorful enough to stand on it's own. And the sauces at the table? Ugh, awful. The white sauce tasted like a cross between ranch dressing, tzatziki, and Horsey sauce from Arby's. Since when are kabob sauces creamy and fatty? Struck me as very american. I can't even comment on the other sauce because it was far too salty and powerful and I wasn't even sure what I was supposed to be doing with it. Oh how I missed yogurt based dipping sauced like most places have. You can tell when you walk in and see nothing but white faces that this probably isn't the pinnacle of ethnicity. I would say it's a glorified Moby Dick, which isn't saying much. Maybe one day I'll find a suburban kabob spot that comes close to the kabob kings in Arlington (Kabob Palace or Ravi Kabob). read more

Back when I lived in the DC area I worked in Reston, VA and Reston Kabob was in our weekly rotation. They give you a ton of food for a super great price and the best thing - they had big squeeze bottles of that delicious yogurt sauce you dip your kabob in....talk about kabob sauce heaven, one could squeeze away and never have to worry. They also baked their own bread, sometimes you'd be lucky and get some bread that just came out of the oven and was still warm, sometime even hot. I usually ordered the chicken kabob. Huge, juicy, tasty and abundant pieces of chicken with loads of rice and salad with the above mentioned bread. All this for around $8. What a deal!!! You could also order other delicious kabobs like beef, lamb, kobeeda and many more. The only problem is that if you went there during normal lunch hours of Noon - 1:30pm it's just mobbed with lines almost out the door. Sometimes you'd have to wait a little while for your food too. It's best to go early or later to avoid the rush. Trust me people, nobody mobs a place if the food isn't damn good. read more

Reston Kabob has become an office tradition for us. We have Kabob Fridays (which can actually happen any day of the week) and generally have quite a convoy going. It is crowded and busy due to the superb food and reasonable prices. The kabobs are always great, with the order of goodness being chicken-lamb-beef. The chicken is always remarkably tender and flavorful, while the lamb and the beef vacillate between great and good. The bread is ridiculously awesome to the tenth power. The gyros are also wonderful, but enormous. They make Chipotle burritos look small. Go early (11:30) to get your food and table quickly. You can fax or call in orders, which helps. read more

The white sauce is amazing here - it's like liquid crack - has to be healthy for you right? The chicken is never dried out and seasoned well. This place hardly needs another glowing review, but here I go anyway. This place has converted me and my husband. I was never before a Kabob Person. What's the big deal, I thought. My husband wanted to be a Kabob Person, but swore them off after eating too many that were tasteless and dry. Then we moved to Reston, and a coworker turned me on to Reston Kabob. After that, things changed. It's just the best. The chicken is juicy. They have juicy chicken. For real. It really exists here. But friends and fam said they were going to meet us there, so we stopped by anyway. I know I should feel bad for saying this, being we were in VA for my cousin's momentous occasion, but Reston Kabob was the highlight of my trip. We stayed at the hotel Friday and Saturday and ate lunch there on Saturday and Sunday. Yes, the food is a bit expensive, but man, they hook you up! I didn't have the gyro but made damn sure the GF ordered it. I ordered the chicken and kobeeda with all brown rice and two words describe this plate: simply marvelous. The chicken was cooked to perfection; very juicy and not one inch of dryness. The kobeeda was spiced just right and was probably the best I've had. The gyro was the biggest I've seen and they pile a ton of meat onto to it. At $13ish for my plate and $8ish for the GF's gyro, I'd say that's pretty expensive, but, something else I like to say is, you can't put a price on perfection. I try to go at least once every other week. This is easily the best kabob I've had. Located in a tiny strip shopping center in Reston (near Reston Parkway). Look for Chili's and drive right past that to Reston Kabob located next to it. It is across the parking lot from Popeye's, next to a 7-11, dry cleaner/tailor, and a gas station. The chicken, lamb, and beef are all delicious. All the platters come with bread, big heaps of two kinds of rice, and a small side salad (lettuce and tomatoes). The kobeeda is good also. Big portions for a very reasonable price. The gyros are huge and taste great also. Big bottles of yogurt sauce and some kind of hot sauce (gently and carefully shake it to mix it up a bit) that's tasty, but super hot. The service is friendly, but rushed. But that's to be expected when the line goes almost to the door during the lunch rush. Get there early to beat the rush and get a seat. No complaints. The line moves fairly quickly and is well worth the wait. read more

RK has been consistently solid for over a decade. I have eaten here dozens of times and never had a bad experience. Your food is cooked to order so expect to wait a few minutes (maybe 10 when they are slammed). Your patience will be rewarded with a plate piled high with seasoned meat, rice, salad and nan. The portions are large so come hungry. The gyro is one of the tastiest and definitely the largest in the area. RK offers two sauces in squeeze bottles at each table - both are excellent. One is a yogurt-based sauce (tatziki or something similar) and the other is a vinegar-based hot sauce. Both are 'slap your mama ' good. Resist the urge to walk off with a bottle of these magic potions. The place gets packed at lunch and dinner so don't be shy about a communal seating arrangement. RK puts places like Moby Dick to shame. There's a good reason it's still going strong after being around for so long. This is definitely an establishment worthy of your dollar. read more

Great Chicken Kabobs and gigantic authentic gyros. Yogurt sauce is very tasty as well as the green hot sauce. I have tried everything but if I ever get away from the Chicken Kabob and rice or gyro I am always little disappointed. Okay, so as you probably know, there is an overabundance of kabob eateries in Northern VA, and it can be quite the task to differentiate them from one another, especially for a non-VA and non-kabob expert such as myself (I'm from CO). However, I've been eating and Yelping my way through several kabob joints over my few years here, and have developed some preferences along the way. The quick highlights of Reston Kabob for pretty much anybody would be: - the MASSIVE portion of fresh, fluffy bread that is served with every plate. Seriously, it's as big as the hubcaps on a Honda, but much tastier - the UNLIMITED supply of "white sauce" and "spicy sauce" on each table. Some folks describe the white sauce as "liquid crack," but it's too mayonnaise-y for me. I prefer the green spicy sauce, which has an awesome kick to it - definitely Spice Fiend approved! - their chicken is some of the best I've ever had at a kabob restaurant; perfectly spiced, juicy and succulent, never dry or bland Why can't I provide the 4 or 5 stars like many other recent reviews? - vegetarians or salad lovers get the shaft here - if you opt for salad as I do for your protein's setting, you're served a bog honking plate of sad iceberg lettuce. Not okay for the price you pay. Check out Sorrento in Herndon for a truly nice kabob chicken salad with mixed greens and salad accoutrements - white sauce is sadly super mayonnaise-y and if that is revolting to you (as it is to me) and you're expecting a more yogurt-based white sauce, you're out of luck - tables and atmosphere are a little dingy and run-down; restrooms could use some sprucing-up Some of the recent 4-and 5-star reviews from other Yelpers are perfectly valid, depending on your taste preferences and kabob expectations, but then again, I also think my review is valid based on my personal preferences.
