My husband and I have ordered food from this place at least once a week for almost a month now. He really enjoys their gyros. While the tzatziki dressing that comes with it is not that impressive (it's very mayonnaisy), he loves the generous amount of meet and its quality. We've also tried beef kabobs and they were pretty good, but I personally prefer lamb ones, and they don't make them here. However, chicken kabobs are ON POINT! Very well done, super juicy - delicious! And the ABSOLUTE STAR of this place is the green sauce that comes with kabobs - to die for!!! Especially with the chicken! It is truly a hidden gem. We always ask for extra sauce, so we can use it later with other foods at home. An absolute must try!! Soo much food... They are very generous with the portions. Cashier was quick and our order was ready within 10 mins. Their bread is delicious. So fresh, soft, with a nice bite. Generous portions of rice, salad, and meats of your choice. The gyro platter was packed with meat. I loved the thinly sliced onions that came with it. Their white yogurt sauce and green spicy sauce are great. Though everything is already seasoned well, the sauces really add more flavor to the dishes. We shared it all and had plenty of leftovers. Seating was easy to find since we arrived a couple of mins after opening time. An hour after opening time, this place gets super packed. Especially on weekends. The best spot for kabobs in Reston, hands down. We've moved to the area only a month ago and have already visited half a dozen times. Uh. Wow. I definitely have to echo the other Yelpers here by saying that this place is totally a hidden gem of culinary pleasure in the Reston neighborhood. It's a little off the beaten path, and you have to know where it is if you intend on finding it, but it's well worth the effort. I have to say that I went in with pretty high expectations based on the other reviews, but that all of those expectations were thoroughly satisfied. First, if you're expecting a fancy dining experience a la Lebanese Taverna, you're not in the right place. This restaurant qualifies in my book as a hole-in-the-wall. There's not much to recommend it in terms of decor or personality. It's like your standard fast food restaurant in terms of a handful of tables and chairs to seat maybe twenty or thirty people at most. Also, unlike true fast food, expect to wait about ten to fifteen minutes for your food to be done after you order. The prices are definitely reasonable, the quantity is excessive (I had my lamb kabob for both lunch and dinner), and the food itself is top notch. There's not much else to say except that the lamb that I ordered was seasoned perfectly, done up just right so it was crusty on the outside but stayed juicy on the inside. The kabob was served over a heaping portion of rice, with a side of simple salad. Would I come back? Most definitely. Would I make it a habit of dining here? Probably not. For a reasonably quick bite of good food that is filling and will leave you with plenty of leftovers, this is an excellent choice. Unless your date is huge into working-class fare ethnic cuisine, you may want to pick a more upscale joint. read more

I ordered two combination platters for carry-out. The man on the phone said it would take 20 minutes. The food was just OK to me, I've been searching all over for an amazing kabob or gyro place in Northern VA, but Reston Kabob didn't stand out to me. The two platters I ordered were the chicken kabob platter and the gyro platter. Each platter comes with rice, bread, and a salad. The good- the bread is piping hot when I picked it up, so I knew it was fresh. It was huge, too! Two slices with my 2 platters. The rice was a blend of two different types (not sure which). +Brown sauce. Which was spicy, definitely had a kick. The bad- the "salad" is the laziest salad. I'm not a huge fan of iceberg lettuce, but this salad was literally just that. And a slice of tomato thrown on top. Could be better or come with a dressing of some sort to spice it up? +White sauce: wasn't consistent. Mine was much too mint-y tasting, my companion's tasted a lot better. One squares kabob comes with a little rice, salad and chickpeas!! Awful look food kababs are broken in few pieces. Here my 4 combo looks like after a lot of arguments!!! Awful!! I wouldn't buy it if I didn't have to. They have to go one time eat kabab at Shamshiri or Alborz to understand how their food should look like. Welcome back! I'm stoked that these guys are back in Reston. I used to hit this place 2x a week when they were in their old location. The inside is very nicely decorated, food is still delicious, saw the owner (very nice guy) working the register right when I walked in. Came in a day or two after opening. I liked the blend of basmati rice. That was unique and delicious. As were the lamb kabobs and the chickpeas and the naan was on point. The salad, well, you need to make customers aware that there is going to be dressing on the salad. I, for one, don't like dressing on my salad -- any salad. I prefer it on the side so I can put on how much I want, if any. But nowhere did it say dressing comes on the salad. It should be noted on your menu or on some signage so customers can say, please leave the dressing off or put it on the side. I didn't know that and got my food to go. By the time I noticed I was already home and unhappy that this nasty tasting dressing was all over the salad and impeding into the rice and kabobs. I'll remember that for the future. I will definitely be back, I want to ask about a specific combo and also to eat in so I can have dessert. I'm glad I live close. For having so many solid 4 star yelp reviews, I expected a bit more! This little place is hidden near the Reston Westin. Parking isn't an issue and there is plenty of seating inside. Their menu is limited to Lamb/Beef Gyros and Kabobs - no hummus :( If you get a combo meal which includes rice and a side salad, it can cost up to $14...kinda pricey for lunch. I ordered the Beef/Lamb gyro - the meat tasted very fatty, it was just ok. But the spicy sauce on the gyro gave it that extra kick that it needed. The value is undeniable - $8.39 gets you a gyro bigger than the size of your head. I prefer the little Greek place on Centreville Road for gyros. My personal favorite Med. cuisine in the area? Charcoal Kabob, no question. They have the best pitas, chicken, and stewed veggies ever. read more

Our favorite place near the house for gyros. We get it as a salad. For us big enough to share. Adore the green spicy sauce on the table. No frills place hiding in the strip next to 7-11... order at the counter and they call your number. Most tables are communal in setup. Gets quite busy after 1130 for lunch. The gyros they serve is kronos brand which I like. Fountain is coke products but they also have Pepsi and coke plus other drinks in bottles... no alcohol. Decent baklava rounds out a meal. OMG YOU GUYS. Reston Kabob is back!!! If you are thinking it might not be as good well worry not, my hungry friend. It is just as good, if not better. Is that even possible?? I had the usual, chicken kabob platter, my friend the lamb kabob. Came with not one but 2 kinds of rice, bread, salad - real salad with cucumbers and tomatoes, not just sad lettuce - AND chickpeas. The prices are the same as what they were before, and everything is as delicious and fresh as always. And the green sauce... drooooool. Finally, some good news in this difficult time. Parking is a little weird. Its basically in the same place as it was before, but now there are giant buildings all around. You will need to park and walk a few steps but its all good. My daughter & husband had dined there before and really enjoyed the food so since we were in the area around lunch time, we decided to dine there. They were taking all the necessary Covid precautions. We were the only one dining in side around that time. We ordered the combo kabob and gyro sandwich. Food was piping hot and really the best kabobs I had in awhile. There portion were really generous. I'll take a wild guess here and assume that not many DC residents keep a list of take-out options in Reston/Herndon on hand. But I do. When you dine on a semi-regular basis with two kids under the age of five, you learn the importance of being able to eat at home. And who wants to cook on the weekends? Which brings me to my point: Reston Kabob! On Saturday I called in our order which included several kabob platters. They said our food would be ready in 10 minutes. Thankfully, Reston Kabob is just a short drive away. The chicken kabob was fabulously juicy and something I'd love to eat again. The lamb, less so. But then again, I am not the biggest lamb fan in the phone book so. . . I feel obliged to tell you about the bread. EVERYONE at our table was disappointed with the bread. It was not blistery and fabulous. It was not incredibly flavorful. It was lacking. And so lacking was it that everyone at the table remarked on is subpar-ness. Let that be a warning. Additionally, the white sauce (typically yogurt-based) tasted remarkably like ranch dressing. Now, I have nothing at all against ranch dressing, but. . . Portions were hearty and the kabob platters were of good value. The chicken was really terrific. I'd go back for it again. But bread's important to me, especially within the context of a meal like this, and thus my rating. Finally, my mind thinks of Reston Kabob. It's one of those restaurants, which truly comes high on my list of favorite kabob places. Kubieda kabob is a must!!!!! Either chicken or beef, you pick, your choice but order it!!!! They are super busy always, to go and pick up is a great option. Don't forget to get the sauces to go. I don't know what's in them but that they are so addicting and your missing on half the taste if you don't get them. They have a amazing green minty sauce as well as a white cream yogurty sauce which complete the taste with the kubeida kabob. The naans are always fresh and amazing. Chicken kabob also thoroughly seasoned. Tried a gyro wrap and while it was wonderfully huge, way too many onions and way too much food even for me. Next time I'm sticking with kabobs. So far this is my favorite kabob joint by a long shot. Minor complaints: service definitely varies depending on the night. I love the staff though, so one night of mushy rice is forgivable after months of impressive consistency. Having lived in the area (Reston/Herndon) for a little over a year now, I had never been to Reston Kabob despite the numerous compliments by my coworker until a few months ago. We finally decided to take a long lunch and drive out there to eat. It absolutely changed my life. I've never seen another place offer a gyro as big as Reston. I've never been to another place where the meat was as tender and flavorful as Reston. And I've never been to any other Gyro or Kabob place that has the "Spicy Sauce", a brown concoction that you can use as much as you want from a bottle at your table...that pretty much tastes like how I imagine Awesome would taste like. I literally have nothing else to say about the restaurant. Seating is always tough, line is always long...everything else on the menu is probably good, but irrelevant because of the orgasmic gyros. My husband and I swear by Rose Kabob. Their chicken is pretty damn moist and flavorful. He has built this spot up to his co-workers and upon trying it, their response was, "meh." His Afghan co-worker didn't like it at all and recommended Reston Kabob. We ended up here on a Sat. evening after a long day at Shenandoah for dinner with his co-workers. Order at the front, take a seat, and pick up your food at the counter when your name is called. The menu is above the cash register. Plates range from $10 to $15. Kabobs galore here and you can't really go wrong here. SX and I have tried a variety of things here, pretty much everything except for the chicken kobeeda (ground chicken kabob). The portion size here is quite generous. The kabobs here are juicy, tender, and flavorful. The top choices being the chicken and the lamb, in my opinion. Each kabob platter comes with two types of rice, a simple salad (tomato, iceberg), and freshly made bread.They don't offer grilled tomatoes or onions here like other kabob joints do. Even the gyro wrap is huge and tasty, that send you into a food coma afterwards. The only thing I've encountered is the side of chickpeas can be slightly inconsistent at times. Sometimes the chickpeas have been stewing for slightly longer at times, giving a better texture and becoming more flavorful. This place offers two sauces, a yogurt one and a spicy one. Both are great and the spicy definitely gives a nice kick of heat. If you get your meal to go, make sure you don't leave the place without sauces at hand. The meat tasted good.. had about 5 or 6 pieces of chicken in it.. and the rice was pretty good too (only because I added the sauces that they give you when you carryout) I got my food 'to go'... and inside the bag.. there were no napkins or untensils. am I supposed to eat the rice with my hands? I have worked within walking distance of Reson Kabob for nearly five years, but never tried it until today when stuck at work late and desperate for something better to eat than Lean Cuisine, 7-11 or Popeye's. While I confided in a friend "it looks sketchy" he assured me it was good. We are by no means kabob conaisseurs; we dine rather frequently at Moby Dick House of Kabob in Herndon and are plenty satisfied with the quality there. Walking in, Reston Kabob is pretty sparcely "decorated," but I was reassured by other Yelpers' comments that the food would make up for it. After ordering from a high school student, I waited in a very warm (from the kitchen), half-full seating area among a mix of a variety of customers -- teenagers to elderly folks, business people, a woman who looked pretty low income, and a variety of races. The walls were nondescript (beige?), the tables looked like they were from an early 1990s fast food restaurant, but everything appeared to be relatively clean. While I waited it was clear a few customers after me were regulars. When my to-go order was ready, I was handed a bag and asked if I wanted any sauce. The dark sauce was being described as spicy so I declined and took the light sauce, which I presumed was a yogurt sauce like what I receive with kabobs at Moby Dick's or Cafesano. Upon returning to my office and opening the styrofoam box, I found the "salad" to be no more than some wet, irregularly cut lettuce and a slice of tomato. The plentiful rice was half plain, half seasoned with something; it almost seems like Mexican rice. There might be a little saffron thrown in, but not like what I usually receive with kabobs. I ordered the beef kabobs and they are pretty good, seasoned much more than Moby Dick's or Cafesano's, but not overpoweringly so. They might be a little tough for some people's liking, but for the most part they're fine enough. The round of bread that comes with the meal is positively delicious, nicely baked on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The light sauce I'm still trying to figure out, though; while it looks like a yogurt and cucumber sauce, it almost seems like there's mayonnaise or some other familiar-but-unidentifyable flavor to it. Not bad, just unexpected. All in all, not a bad experience. At $15 total I'm not sure I'd return any time soon, but it's certainly not a bad way to satisfy a kabob craving without the drive from my office to Herndon. (EDIT: On second thought, I thought the sign said $10-something for my beef kabobs... So I went to Reston Kabob with high exceptions and when I arrived, ehhh it wasn't good as others have said it would have been. I ordered the chicken and spiced ground beef with rice, the chicken was the only good/decent part of the meal, the ground beef was not good, it was very chewy. the "brown sauce" was ehh ok but not what everyone crazed over. The bread was ok it was kinda tough. I usually go to Kabob Palace in Crystal City and it definitely blows this place out of the water. season on the food was blah not good at all. read more
