The delivery crew damaged the wall during the delivery. Rocky, the guy in charge fixing it gave me a very bad experience. Here is the email I wrote to RH's customer experience. Hi Ava I want to let you know that I had a bad experience with your guy, Rocky regarding arranging the fixing the wall damage. First, he didn't call me after he told me that he would get back to me the next day after we first spoke last Thursday the11th. I had to call him to follow up on this Tuesday the 16th at 9:14am. Surprisingly, he pushed it to me by saying that he was waiting for my call to see when was a good day for them to come to fix the wall. I really only wanted to get this thing done. So I didn't care to argue with him. I told him that this Thursday morning would work for me. He said he would arrange it and get back to me shortly. Well, I waited and waited. He didn't call me back. I left him voicemail at 5:36pm. He still didn't call me back on Tuesday. I received a text from him yesterday at 7:18am saying 10am tomorrow his contractor could come to fix the wall. I texted him Yes. I arranged my schedule for the 10am today appointment. Surprisingly again, he just texted me that his contractor had some backed up work, and should be getting to my house around 1pm. I am upset about this. I texted back to him No, not acceptable. I would let customer experience know this. So here it is. Definitely, I will share this unpleasant experience with the public by posting my experience on Yelp and Google. I had so much fun walking around Restoration Hardware. I found the place welcoming and enjoyable to explore. Despite the fact I wasn't going to be buying anything, it's nice to know what the ideal or gold standard of design is. Anyone can buy something at Ross, not everyone can get a Restoration Hardware look. You won't even be able to try until you've gone there. Certainly the beautiful catalogues are lovely, but, they are not the same as feeling the fabrics and seeing all the details in person. The light fixtures are as beautiful as in the catalogues. When you see everything together you notice little design touches like couch curves and wood textures. It's very well run and a team of designers are on the second floor working to make your dreams come true. I loved the well displayed fabrics and rugs. You can mix and match different fabrics on your desired furniture. They carried drapes and fixtures as well. I have not eaten lunch there yet. I'm not sure how I feel about shades of grey to brown and slate to linen as being my only colors in the pallette, but it's modern and tasteful. A bit masculine and a bit severe. Whimsy and feminine softness are not completely in this collection, but, I loved everything. Super fun place to have in Marin. read more

My first clue should have been when despite having an appointment my husband and I were treated as a nuisance when we showed up. And it was all down hill from there. There is NO coordination of your order so it arrives at your home in random sequence with none of the rooms labeled. The quality is substandard. And 3 months later we still don't have a functioning solar shade on one window and lousy quality on the rest. The price: $16000.00. And no one cares. So if you're thinking of using them: DONT. They are unworthy of your business. My prediction is within 5 years they will be filing for bankruptcy protection. I drove 40 minutes from my home to purchase a sofa along with pillows and two chairs. I walked through the doors and was greeted by...not a single soul. I found the sofa I was looking for yet sales associates walked by me over and over and over with out a word and avoiding eye contact with me. I walked around for almost half an hour and finally a women asked how I was. I replied I was doing well and before I could speak another word turned her back to stock fabrics. Extremely rude staff!!! My mother and I went in yesterday looking for paint colors. There were two employees talking to each other. I approached them and asked if they still carried paint since I did not see their display. One woman​ rudely replied: "We don't carry paint in our "gallery" Well, ​excuse me! You used to! I thought. I then asked if they had any color samples, and she said: ​"I will go get the Wheel". Well..... sorry for the ​ inconvenience​, I thought. My mom and I looked through​ the wheel for a nice yellow. We found one my mom liked and asked if they had color samples, and again we were responded to rudely. They woman said​​n "No, but we have chips" We asked for a chip and the woman rolled her eyes. The other employee ​realized the first person​ was being rude and stepped in and said she would get it. I could not believe how we were being treated so I point blank as the rude employee "why are you being rude and rolling your eyes at Us? She insisted that she was not, but she was. She then tried to be nice by asking us if we wanted a catalog. Too little, too late. This woman was RUDE!!@!@!@ and should not work with the public. Restoration Hardware used to be known for quality products. I have Restoration furnishings all over my home. They were a company that stood behind what they sold and did whatever they could to make sure the customer was happy. Those days are long gone, my friends. I purchased a very expensive rug from them and when it started falling apart less than a month after I purchased it I was told that I was not caring for it properly. Of course they couldn't tell what the proper way was to care for the rug. I've been living with rugs on my floors all my life. I have rugs that are 100 years old that look better than the one I purchased from Restoration Hardware. I have rugs in every room in my house and have owned some of them for 40-50 years. I am a rug fanatic. And the only rug that I have that is falling apart is the one I purchased from Restoration Hardware - the one that I paid the most money for. And they blame me for how it looks. Having long lusted after a cherry bathroom ensemble, we decided to go for it when the pieces went on sale AND payments/interest could be deferred for 12 months on RH's in-house card. We depend on the internet/mail order for most of the comforts of life due to living in a remote section of the Oregon coast. This is not a position to be envied when: 1. your master bath has been rendered unusable due to removal of old sink set-up and 2. your new sink base arrives severely damaged and 3. the company from which you ordered it - RESTORATION HARDWARE - doesn't immediately ship out a replacement, tells the customer different stories on different days as to the reason for the delay and lies that they have tried to contact the customer. We are into our THIRD week without the new sink base . . . I have emailed, I have called. I STILL DON"T KNOW WHEN THE NEW CABINET WILL BE SHIPPED. Do not - I repeat - DO NOT do business with this company The "customer service" voices on the phone doesn't seem to be able to think independently, clinging to the script and hollowly apologizing for "any inconvenience they may have caused". Well, actions speak louder than words and the folks at Restoration Hardware don't deserve your business. I went into to RH to look for a specific couch after the RH in SF was basically a design store and had hardly anything that was in their catalog. I was in the store no joke for 20 to 30 mins on a Sunday at 11am right when they opened. It wasn't slammed but there were a few people in there, not a problem I can wait for help. No one approached not did they even say hello when I went into the store. My boyfriend should up after running an errand in the complex and said let's give it another 10, so we surfed through their catalog on the couch hoping that someone would help us.. because I wanted to buy a leather couch. Restoration Hardware Refuses to Honor Published Recall of a Toxic Piece of furniture. I will never purchase anything from RH ever again due to the fact that they have sold and may very well continue to sell pieces items that are toxic to people and animals and their business practices feel nefarious to say the least. Restoration Hardware recalled their Annecy Coffee Table due to lead contamination. The recall was published on the US Consumer Product Safety Commission's website on November 15, 2018 and on their own website which are both still in publication. The remedy details as stated by the CPSC are as follows (copied from the CPSC website 6/5/19): Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled coffee tables, cover the tables, and place the table out of the reach of children. Consumers can contact RH to receive a full refund or a free replacement table. RH is contacting all known purchasers directly. The remedy details on the RH website are as follows(copied from the RH website 6/5/19): * Please discontinue use of the recalled item and contact RH for a full refund or a replacement item once RH has retrieved the recalled item. * At your request, we will dispatch our White Glove delivery service to pick up the recalled item at a time convenient for you, at no charge. After speaking with RH representatives on the recall hot line and at the corporate office, I was informed that they would only provide me with a partial (less than half of the original price before taxes and delivery fees) refund since I do not have the original receipt and they cannot confirm original delivery. Since I would not accept a partial refund, they are refusing to pick up the toxic piece up from my home where I have dogs and children. I purchased this piece in good faith and had no intention of returning it because I loved it; therefore, I did not keep the receipt which is a common practice of mine. The problem is that Restoration Hardware sold a toxic piece of furniture and several years later recalled the item and now will not make good on their published recall. On top of this, there is nothing published anywhere that states that one must have original proof of purchase in order to be fully qualified for their remediation. read more

I recently bought two pieces of bathroom furniture through RH. I say "through" rather than "at" because neither piece was displayed at any Bay Area store, and I had to trust the online photos and order online. taff at one store futilely sent me to a bigger one seeking an in-person view, but there was almost nothing on display in this two-story store - just staff pushing catalog and online services! RH seems to be moving away from being a vendor of stuff -- overpriced but sometimes attractive -- to being some kind of lifestyle cult. Strangely, today a 10-pound carton of ten eight different RH catalogs landed on my front porch without my having requested them, with a cover sheet about how RH is environmentally green to send these! Luckily, not only do we have many independent local stores, but for comparable chain stores Rejuvenation Hardware has recently opened locally, and their stuff is much better priced anyway. Customer service here is unbelievably bad. While renovating our whole home and spending a ton of money here on kitchen hardware, bathroom hardware, a chandelier, light fixtures, window dressings including a large custom drapery, and a bunch of furniture, we needed to add on a 10 pound light fixture at the last minute. They insisted that we pay a $200 delivery fee (which amounted to a quarter of the value of the fixture itself) despite all the other delivery fees. After a phone conversation with customer service we were directed to go to one of the stores, which I did. They were anything but helpful. Last time we buy anything from this place! We came in yesterday to try to look at a piece of furniture in your showroom only because the @restorationhradwarewc (Walnut Creek) advised us you have it. We walked around and did not see it and found this older white lady at the register counter about it. She has no idea what a bar cabinet is and had no idea what we were talking about. She said "I don't know why they would tell you we have it. You see it on our catalog/online? You can just buy it from the website." I said I apparently saw it online/catalog but would like to see it in person and that's why we are here. She said, "we have thousands of pieces of items and can't possibly display everything on floor." No kidding Sherlock!! That's why we tried to find out which store has it so we drive all the way to your store to see after we were told you had it on your floor. She then advised me to buy it and have it delivered to my home. If we don't like it, we could just call and have it returned and picked up. SERIOUSLY?!!! How inefficient that is abs a waste of time!! What kind of sales person/customer service that is?! Then this younger salesman shouted across the floor and asked the lady we were talking to for a measuring tape. SERIOUSLY?!!! Are you guys working in a flee market?! You couldn't see that she was with a customer?! You shouldn't be shouting across the room asking for anything! Hopeless. Incompetent. Spend your money elsewhere. We bought outdoor furniture from the Corte Madera store. Every visit to the store is an unpleasant experience. Frequently there's no staff. When you do get someone they are snooty to you. When we bought our furniture the representative left halfway through the sale. We were left to look at fabric and saw the representative walking away from the store through the parking lot. When we got hold of another representative we were told she had gone home. What! No goodbye, no nothing. Against my better judgement we placed the order. Fast forward a few weeks. I noticed the status of the order was updated to show the cushions were shipped - no communication. The following week the coffee table was delivered. The next week the sofas were delivered. Still no cushions. I phoned customer services numerous times to inquire when we would receive the cushions, nobody really knew. All I heard was it's a 3rd party. Finally the cushions get delivered, wait only ONE set of cushions. The delivery guy just wanted to dump them at the front door, refused to bring them up and un-pack them, although it was written on the delivery note that they should unpacked and places on the seats. He knew nothing about the second set of cushions. I then went in to the store and asked to speak to the manager, but I wasn't allowed. Finally the representative found out only ONE set of cushions was manufactured. No apology. I was just told it will be another two weeks and the 3rd party will reach out to me. There was no apology. I haven't heard a thing. I wanted to put my experience in writing so I contacted customer support, which states "email response in less than 24 hours". One week later and no response and YES I have checked my spam folder. RH you're selling a premium product, which should be accompanied with a premium service. I don't care about your 3rd party, my contract is with you and as such I only want to deal with you and I want a consistent high level of service. I want my product delivered as a single delivery, NOT four deliveries. I'm regretting my decision to buy big time. To everyone else out there, don't give them your money, you'll live to regret it! read more

I tried to buy 2 rugs but because they couldn't show me a sample of the color I couldn't buy them. I was told to go to Los Angeles where the RH store was better organized. We've been loyal RH customers for years not only because of the quality of their products and the completeness, robustness and wide variety of styles in their product line but also because of their amazing customer support. Like many, we've had our share of issues with delay's, etc. but RH customer service has always treated us more than fairly each time we've inquired or asked for help over the last 10 years. It's been our experience that RH greatly values customer satisfaction and backs it up with actions when they are aware of an issue. As an example, we recently escalated a not-so terrific response from "furniturerepair@restorationhardware.com" on a few orders that we were not completely satisfied with and the reply we got from senior management was more than we could have expected. Not only did we get a reply from the senior executive himself within minutes but he then put us in touch with an individual by name letting us know our issue will be taken care of and that if we had any further issues to contact him directly...WOW!!! We were put in touch with Taylor in Corporate Operations and she couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and responsive. Taylor was tireless in her focus on making sure we were completely satisfied with the orders we had purchased previously. The conversation with Taylor now is all about new orders for the rest of our remodel:-) Two-thumbs up to RH for your commitment to deliver amazing products and customer satisfaction! read more

Before making a purchase, I had read TERRIBLE AWFUL reviews on just about ever RH yelp page. I'm glad it didn't scare me off! I had been pining after the St. James 11-drawer dresser for a couple years and FINALLY brought myself to pay the ridiculous price for it while it was on new year sale. I had a great experience at the store. I went in with my mom and we pulled the drawers out, asked a ton of questions, made sure I would actually be paying for quality. A woman who worked there, Melanie Martin, made the entire thing so seamless. She was SO sweet and even offered me a friends and family discount of an additional 20% off (I think because she saw I am young and trying to justifying making such an expensive purchase for myself). That took about $360 off the price! She helped set me up (so easy) with the RH credit card - anything over $1k you can pay off over 12 months. She gave me her card and told me that they would call within 2 weeks to set it up -- we got a call within the week, delivery came within the week that I bought it. The guys who moved it in were GREAT. This is a HUGE piece of furniture that they had to fit down a tiny hallway. They very slightly dinged my metal doorjamb -- they then removed it themselves, hammered it flat so there was no mark in the metal, and put it back on -- WHAT?! Such good service. I LOVE this dresser. If you are looking to purchase anything from the one in Corte Madera, I highly recommend asking for Melanie. She is very kind, helpful, has a ton of info, and was just as excited about my purchase as I was. She even made sure to tell me to inspect it upon arrival and if anything was wrong, put it back on the truck and call HER (she gave me her card). I have also purchased bedding at RH in Corte Madera. I purchased a duvet cover online a couple years ago on a great sale for $115. They no longer make the material that I purchased it in (jersey cotton) and I have been looking for a bed skirt to match it. I went in recently and they quickly pulled up my order history and were able to find me a bed skirt in the same color but a different material. I had it shipped to my house within a couple weeks. Unfortunately, it doesn't match my duvet AT ALL, not even close, although it DOES say it's the same color. That's a real bummer, but I am planning to take it back to the store and since I have had such a good customer service experience, I am crossing my fingers I can find the right one! read more

We bought so much stuff at RH. Many of the pieces were defective or simply not made to spec. A vanity top would not fit the vanity (we tried 3 different ones). RH seemed to be working with us in that they paid for the extra contractor costs. They offered a $500 gift card for all our trouble and time waiting for pick-ups of defective pieces. Then, when I went to place a $4500 order, they reneged on the $500 gift card. They actually cancelled the one they had already sent me. I did not place the $4500 order (The customer always wins RH). I've been searching the web and discovered that you can find many RH pieces direct from the manufactures for considerable less. We're done with RH....Not because of the problem, because they lied. read more
