Now, I am one of those old [fashioned] humans who still calls people and businesses... on the phone. I know it seems aggressive to sensitive, young humans to call before texting but I'm pushing 40 and am unapologetically old school. Mel answered my call immediately and fit me in the same day with Jasmine for lash removal. I was [am] so grateful for the swift response and accommodation! Jasmine removed those yucky old bristles off my eyes effortlessly and gently and made me look normal again. They were so sweet and Jasmine seemed very knowledgeable in lashes that I booked with her for a new set the following day. I like my lashes to be that "in between" style... Like, natural glam, soft/ light volume. She found an example that i loved called 'kitten lashes' which is a cross between open eye and cat eye and she NAILED it! It's so nice to find someone who just gets it right! It's so sexy without being super heavy and fake. I get people asking me "Are those YOUR lashes?!" I love that! When they're so beautiful that they catch attention but they're so beautiful that people can't tell if they're real or fake... ;) Disclaimer: Jasmine is very gentle and the situation is so relaxing that you might find yourself snoring yourself awake every few minutes... Parking is located in the back of the building. There are 5 stalls available that say customer parking. Just know that everyone in the building shares the same customer parking stalls so if you have difficulties, there's street parking or parking at Walgreens next door. When you get inside of Sweet Skin, Ashley is to the immediate right with a privacy curtain and comfy table. She really takes the time to talk through what you're looking to achieve. She always makes me feel comfortable and I trust her to have my best interest in mind. All in all, I'm a lash lift type of gal and Ashley explained how the process works every step of the way. She uses a vegan formula that is safe on the eyes and sends you home with a lash brush wand, to take care of your lashes. The door was locked when I came 20 minutes early for my 10am appointment, but I just called and Leina let me in. The waiting area is small, but you won't be sitting there long if you're on time. The music and air conditioning creates a comfortable atmosphere. She did an initial consultation and asked what I expect the finish product to look like, if I knew how to take care of them, if I have had used fake lashes before etc. When I see my other estheticians I get the sense that skincare and beauty are their passion, however I did not sense this from Leina. I expected the lashes to be thicker because her website said it would take up to 2 hours for application. It did look natural and I was satisfied. These lashes are easy to manage and it feels/looks so natural. I don't think I would come back here to get refills. I'll stick to applying fake lashes to get the look that I want. The Groupon made it worth trying, but I realize $275 for the Faux Mink and $85 for refills are not worth the price. I was very careful in washing my face with the right product and was gentle around the eye area, but after a week about half my lashes were already gone. They were nice while it lasted because I didn't have to use mascara and it gave me a nice natural look. However, don't get these extensions if you expect them to last more than two weeks.
