NO JOB TOO SMALL! I walk into their facility and can see right away that they are busy! I'm not there to have a chair reupholstered. I have an issue with an order from one of my customers. I need a foam insert to fit in a box. (Well, more like 60 of them and 2 different sizes!) And did I mention that I need them tomorrow! Carlos is amazing. He tackles this like it's the biggest money-making job he's ever taken. I can see great work ethic and that their clients trust them immensely. I brought in an exercise bench to have a pad and upholstery installed. I was quoted a price and told it would be ready in 10 days at the longest and that it would probably be done sooner. I came back after 15 days to pick it up and the lady told me "Carlos started it but it's not finished yet, but it'll be ready at the end of the today or the next morning". I returned in 5 days to pick it up and when the same lady working there saw me she said outloud "oh shit". Well,the bench wasn't only not done but the work hadn't even been started yet. At that point I took it to have done elsewhere. Not only was there no communication but I was lied to about the time line. And the worst thing is telling me the project was started when it wasn't. Wow! I am so amazed at the new life that has been breathed into our very well used Thomasville dining table chairs. About 2 weeks ago, we visited Carlos's shop. We reviewed the selection of material (focused on vinyl, since I wanted something child-friendly and wipeable) and found a great looking option. Carlos ordered the material and called us when it came in. We then took the chairs to him and less than a week later...we are back to sitting in our chairs at the kitchen table, and far more comfortable doing it!! They are gorgeous!! I brought my 2006 Porsche Cayenne to Carlos to replace my suede headliner after consulting Pioneer Porsche for a replacement. They wanted $4k just for the liner! I went to all the big guys in town and only one was willing to touch it, Ocean Beach upholstery, but he was exactly $1,000 more than Carlos, that's so ridiculous! I went to Jim's, Arroyo brothers, Lindy's and all the South county places but to no avail. Carlos was honest, helpful, professional, very quick and detail oriented and best of all willing to take in such a difficult and challenging job! We thought our beautiful leather sectional was headed for the trash after our cat started urinating between the pieces. They came out and gave me an estimate that was reasonable for the work I wanted done on my yacht on Shelter Island. They were fast to get the pieces made and came back one week later to install it. We were impressed enough to order more work done. All went well with the second order also. No complaints. We then ordered a piece to get redone for our doorway to the boat. They took the original piece and never came back with it or called. When I called about it, they said they lost it and came back out to measure for a second one to be made. Again, I never heard back from them till I called and they said they would bring it out the following week. It's been a year and nothing heard or seen from them. read more
