Dr London ruined my previously perfect sharp 20/15 near vision. My day to day routine and life…read morefunctions overall require a lot of reading and up close work to do what I need to do. Prior to eye surgeries for what he called benign "mild vitreous opacities" I had excellent sharp near vision bilaterally and excellent sharp distance vision in my right eye (being near sighted) which was a blessing for my lifestyle and day to day work/essential functions. Post core vitrectomies to supposedly remove these what he called mild opacities that I ONLY ever saw outside in very bright natural sunlight I now see worse lines and black dots, floaters that don't blend at all that I see inside in dim lighting and when trying to look at technology. The floaters post vitrectomy are way worse and more bothersome plus ruined my previously perfect vision. I struggle to see now, everything that was laser sharp and crystal clear is a complete blur making previously simple tasks and work basically impossible. I was told I am not a candidate for contacts or lens replacement sx because the surgery caused nerve damage and severe post surgical dry eye. Dr London cleared me for an invasive life changing surgery in an only ~five min consult that ruined my quality of life. He did not ask me any questions about my near vision or what I value most or questions to learn about my day to day life functions to assess any risk vs benefit so I could make an informed decision. As a pt we rely on the specialist to look out for our best interests and to teach, educate us about the short and long term consequences of a surgery or procedure. Unfortunately now day to day life that was easy before with excellent sharp natural vision is now a complete struggle and my quality of life has deteriorated. I've also had to waste significantly more time and money running about to other specialists to try to mitigate eye pain, severe eye dryness and immediate post surgery vision loss that continues to deteriorate. By around 7 pm each day I have to lay down and keep my eyes closed because of the eye pain. Dr London should've told me I would lose my perfect near vision immediately post surgery and the dry eye he mentioned would get significantly worse post surgery because that's what happens after eye surgery plus the three instruments that he struck through my eyeballs could damage nerves. There's absolutely NO way I would've done invasive eye surgeries to ruin my perfect sharp near vision that I need for my day to day functions if he would've just told me that would or could happen. Dr means teacher he did no teaching, I learned nothing valuable from him to be able to make a fully informed decision pre the big surgery decision. Anything I learned was stuff I had to come up with on my own which not being an eye dr I didn't know all the right questions to ask. Big miss my eyes are forever ruined, the mild floaters the sx was supposed to get rid of are worse. There was ZERO benefit to these surgeries and now my previously perfect natural vision is ruined.

In March 2026, I required a quick 30-minute surgery to remove a thickened membrane over my left retina that was distorting my vision. The procedure provided immediate relief, and follow-up imaging shows continuous improvement. As we monitor my right eye for a similar issue, I appreciate that Dr. Mozayan never pressures me into surgery. He provides his recommendations and completely supports my timeline and decisions. I am appalled by the rigid, unfriendly, and frankly counter-intuitive policies of this office. As a fellow health care professional, I have never seen anything like this: Refusal of Care for Acute Symptoms: In an alarming move for an ophthalmology practice, the doctor refused to treat me when I presented with acute symptoms requiring an exam. Instead of receiving medical attention, I was told to find a different doctor. Hostile Scheduling Policies: Their rescheduling policy is punitive. My husband attempted to move an appointment ONCE providing several days' notice. He was barred from rescheduling into an open slot and told he was "relegated" to a four-month waitlist before he could even call back to try again. Unprofessional Communication: When we sought clarification on these bizarre rules, we were met with hostility from the front desk and told to find care somewhere else. Our experience is not unique. This is how the Dr operates his practice. It truly feels as though this office actively looks for reasons not to treat patients. Between the unreasonable gatekeeping at the front desk and the doctor's refusal to address urgent needs, this practice is a liability to the community. Save yourself the stress and find a provider who actually values patient health and basic professional courtesy.

I was sent to another specialist in Los Angeles and when I called the center to have all my records sent over they failed and did not do it. Don't even attempt to call them by phone because the person that answers the phone isn't even on the hospital grounds so trying to get any help will be worthless. If you get a doctor that actually looks you in the eye when he talks to you and doesn't just berate students consider yourself lucky. You don't even feel like a patient in the room there. I also tried to receive psychological care, and because a referral was incorrectly filled out. I was basically told to buzz off.. There is no option for zero stars, but if you get sent here, there is probably something wrong with you, but I would definitely look at other options

I have had cataract surgery with Dr. Sheils. She is excellent but, alas she primarily practices at the Sorrento Valley location which as much as I like her is a deal breaker for me. I'm too old to be stressed by bumper to bumper traffic. So as of now, I'm done with these people. There are plenty of other eye services in San Diego so I'm ready to try another place which hopefully has a more competent staff.
