Look at the great presentation of games.

Without exaggeration, this is the best retro game store I have ever been in. The presentation of the games along with easy to read labeling system which gives you all the info you need without having to continually ask questions is top tier. This is a game store you can go for basic games and high end games. The perusing experience is unmatched. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are what they are in the market you visit. Certainly reasonable based off what I guess is "going sold on eBay rate." This may bother some, but it's reasonable. If you don't like a price, ask to negotiate. If you enjoy looking at games, this is Disney Land. They have museum quality items as well. By far my favorite game store, and I've been in a bunch.

Helpful staff and large inventory, but their prices are pretty unreasonable on most games.

    Can I buy online?

No -- you'll need to go in and buy what you're looking for in-store.

Would they buy my Xbox one?

Almost definitely, they deal in current generation games and consoles as well as retro stuff

Seriously awesome place for a host of reasons!…read more Their selection and pricing: Honestly, their selection is one of the widest I've seen! Not just in a brick-and-mortar store, but online as well. For a place without a huge physical footprint, their inventory is MASSIVE. If you enjoy retro gaming at all, I can't recommend a drive out their way highly enough! Looking for a hard-to-find game for a discontinued console or the console itself? START HERE (you'll be glad you did, they're super reasonable!). Honesty and Integrity: Some of you may be asking, "Steve, you live a hot minute from Aloha--what dragged you out there?" My saga begins with some ****er who broke into my car over the holidays and stole my Playdate console and my passport. I'd reported the stolen console to Playdate's manufacturer, and they alerted me when someone tried to reset the system. Despite writing back to the purchaser(s) of my console many times, they never heard back. UNTIL SOMEONE SOLD IT TO TAPPER'S. I reached out to Tapper's, who had already been alerted that it was stolen, and they were INCREDIBLY cool about giving it back. I asked how much they'd paid for it, and they responded with, "It's ok, just make sure to let everyone you know that we don't trade in stolen merchandise." (A stance for which I, for one, thank them!) That said, incredibly cool people, a super well-stocked shop, and legit the kind of business that deserves every gamer's support. If not just for a visit, it really is an incredibly cool place!

That's roughly $25 per modern pack--for cards that aren't vintage, scarce, or anything remotely special. There's a difference between running a business and shamelessly exploiting hype, and this shop clearly knows exactly what it's doing. That's not "market pricing," that's blatant price gouging aimed at the people least likely to know better. Card shops are supposed to build community and help grow the hobby, especially for kids. Instead, this place feels more interested in squeezing every possible dollar out of excited young collectors and their parents. It's hard to call yourself a community shop when you're pricing families out of the hobby. If your business model depends on overcharging kids and parents who don't know better, that says everything people need to know. Even their video games are priced way more than even EBay prices.

Soon after, we hopped in the car and started to head out of town for a shortish afternoon driving trip up the Columbia River. However, all the Kid really wanted to do was stay home, and just a few blocks from the house we had a rebellion on our hands. As a diversion, we offered to first take him to his favourite card store, so he could show it to us and hang out a bit. Other Worlds Games a neat community game store, generally located in my son's SW Portland neighbourhood. They're the "mecca" for Magic: the Gathering tournaments, singles and card supplies; Warhammer and Games Workshop products; Warmachine/Hordes and Privateer Press products; Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Dice and RPG supplies; Adventure and Family Boardgames, gaming tables, terrain tables with lots of terrain pieces available for your use, and in-store gaming events. In fact we walked in during a Sunday afternoon card tournament and were greeted warmly by Ron, who knows my son very well. My son's sister and her husband (D&D fans) also hang out here, which was also evidenced by a few crochet pieces that she had donated to the shop. My son was proud and happy to show us around and we enjoyed his hospitality. And after one more neighbourhood stop at Paint Pots, the Kid was happy again and ready to humor us as we proceeded on our afternoon adventure.
