Found this Gem when i was staying in the city with my 2 best friends . if i could give it 6 stars i would . We were looking for a disco , and a disco we found ! We arrived about 10:30 on a Saturday evening and basically had the dance floor to ourselves ! the DJ was fantastic and played all our requests ! We basically were looking fotthe 80's and our dreams were fulfilled ! It was so much fun my 21 year old daughter wants to go with her friends If you love the 80's this is where you need to go! we didn't eat anything , but the beer was great .

I had been seeing clips of RetroClub NYC on Instagram and TikTok for about one year and always had in my head to check it out, as I'm an old-school gal who loves 70's, 80s, and 90's music. Finally, I decided to get a group together for this past Saturday night to celebrate my 63rd birthday. I have to admit I didn't know what to expect and was hoping it would be good so that my friends didn't get pissed that I dragged them out to NYC at 10pm (we are at the age where we now go to sleep by 8pm!) I must say that RetroClub FAR EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS! Simply stated, we had an absolute blast...such a great time. Leading up to the night, I corresponded with Jeff several times concerning my guest list, what to expect there, etc.,...I'm anal to the point of being annoying, yet he was always ever so nice and really quick to respond. Night of, we met some really nice people outside the venue...everyone we encountered was in such an "up" mood, friendly and ready to dance. Well, my crew danced literally non-stop from 10pm to 2am...we all had such a ball and didn't want the night to end. It was so great hearing music that I hadn't heard in quite a while! Jeff is the DJ, and he did an awesome job of keeping everything and everyone moving. I will definitely be going back go RetroClub in the very near future, and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking to have a great night out! For me, RetroClubNYC is a keeper!

This is definitely a great place to be if you love 70's and 80's music. The Spanish bouncer was respectful, the bartender is very attentive and the DJ is good.

This is such a fun place to go to. My friends suggested we go here on a Friday night because it didn't cater to the young sect! Not that I'm so old, but I'm older than 30 and didn't want to hang with 30 year olds!! Love the place-pop in upstairs for $10 and dance the night away. The deli restaurant is on the first floor and music is on the 2nd.We were a whole bunch - probably 10 of us so it was a blast! We could dance; get a drink and just hang with a friend or two! Very casual. Don't come in your fanciest clothes!

Probably the best retro club in NYC. Nicest manager-DJ, Jeff. Crowd actually dances the entire time and dances well. Michael Jackson impersonator sometimes. Broad range of music and DISCO. Some of these reviews are weird and ageist - this is NY, people keep going out later in their lives.

I miss dancing there; thanks to Corona Virus and it's Delta Variant...looks like 2022 looks good to go back to Retroclubnyc

    Ask the Community - Retroclubnyc

My girlfriends and I are going out this Saturday asks we are over 40, would we feel comfortable here?

Absolutely! We have all ages come to our Saturday night 70s. 80s, 90s dance party! We suggest making a reservation on our site at https://retroclubnyc.com/reservations/

Is the entry free, if not then how much.?

The Entrance Fee is on their website.

What is the typical age group on a Saturday night?

All ages from 21 and over as for I can remember the last time i have been there and the DJ keeps you moving the beats if you are a Party Animal.

Does anyone know what the dress code is typically on a Saturday night for both men and women? Do jeans and a nice button down suffice?

We always suggest "dress to impress"... nightclub appropriate ... jeans and a button down are fine…

Are there seats available or is it just bottle service? Is there a cover charge?

There are seats at the Bar and seats with tables across from the bar, no cover charge on it, you only place your name on the Guest List and pay the entrance fee.

    This place is +18?

I believe it's 21 and over. They play 70s 80s 90s and a Lil of today's dance music. Fun place to dance

How old do you have to be to enter?

    21 yrs old best... jeff

Qué lugar gay me recomiendan para bailar para la fiesta de fin de año?

We will be hosting a big New Years Eve party... please keep checking our events page at www.retroclubnyc.com for updates in the next week best... jeff

We jumped over to the bar right beside and drank some girly drinks before getting the notification our table was ready. As with nearly every establishment in NYC, it is very close quarters in paradise lost. We stood at a table while waiting for seats at the bar to become available. Which, we didn't mind. I could see how this might be a little harder to get a seat for a bigger group if you aren't there before 6. It seemed that once a group got a big table, they camped out. The drinks were strong and creative. Friendly bartenders, good music, and yummy options for bar snacks. Also, the bathroom is a nice touch. Given the hell theming for the bar, the bathroom is a 180 and while using the Lou, you can listen to the bible being recited. Theres also a spooky surprise if you press the button in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, it is at the bottom of some decently narrow stairs. So, try and stay sober enough for stairs or you may fall. Go to this bar. You will have fun.

I mean, I've had bad pina coladas at dive bars, but I expected more from this place. I would say it was very strong, though, so you know what? That's a good thing to be very strong for that price I'm paying. The spam musubi was also a rip-off. You see two here, but each one costs its own $10, so save your money. Eat somewhere else. We opted to sit at the bar but there are tables to the left of the bar and a large sitting room to the left. The staff is very attentive and you will interact with them more than the bartender. We started off by ordering the Welcome Drink which is a bit if an aperitif and "gets your palette" so to speak. It was light, fruity, and a nice way to start the night. My first drink was the Adulting and they present it with a spritz if irange blossom. It is definitely a sipping drink due to the 14yr Balvenie. My second drink, Omija, was a lighter drink comparatively. The clarified yogurt gave it a bit of sweetness most Yakult drinkers are familiar with. My partner had both the 5th Ave and Iced Latte. Fair warning on the latte as the oat milk topping has a bit of a jelly consistency. It wasnt unpleasant but was a bit if a surprise when we went for an initial sip. Overall the Upstairs gives a very pampered and sophisticated feel that coordinates with the dining downstairs.

I watched him spill on other tables as well. He never apologized. He never wiped it up. Then 4th time he filled our glasses, he spilled the water on my wife. He did not apologize. He did not even acknowledge it and it was very clear that he noticed he did it. My wife, quite restrained, let our waitress know what happened. Her response: "What do you want me to do about it?" My wife said that he should not serving water if he doesn't know how to pour it properly. The waitress, moments later, told him what we had said, merely inches from our tables. Beyond awkward. And, instead of coming over and apologizing, he simply never returned to our table. No more water. The waitress had an attitude with us since we sat down - no idea what we could have done - unsure what was going on - but it was beyond unpleasant. Most of our "table conversation" was about how lousy the staff were acting and how uncomfortable we felt along with how much we couldn't wait to leave. We had shared an appetizer and had no interest in ordering anything else after that. We paid. We left. I feel stupid for tipping them.
