I have been going to Revel for about 2 years now and can honestly say its one of my favorite places! If i could give this place 10 stars i would. They have a number of different classes and you can cross train as much as you want! I have found joy in trying new apparatuses and challenging my body in different ways! Start with the 1 class package to see if you enjoy it - but once i did 1 class i was addicted! I easily do 3/4 classes a week! BE WARNED - you will get bruises and be sore, but its one of the most rewarding experiences ever! All the teachers are wonderful! Celeste is my go to lyra hoop teacher. Jen, Jenn, Christina, Amy are my go to pole teachers now that im more advanced! Mei is my favorite beginner pole teacher and now teaches mostly at the new SJ location. Lisa, Debbie and Jen also have amazing heels choreo classes! Andy is my chair/sensual heels teacher and always brings the heat! Cindy and Rissa will get you flexible in no time! And Luna is an amazing hammocks teacher and performer! Jen fosters a welcoming community and truly cares about each student that comes through the studio. She runs the studio more like a friend group that fosters encouragment and positivty throughout the business. read more

1/22/23 - My sister bought me a gift card for a class for my birthday last month and just tried a Lyra 1&2 class yesterday. It was my first time doing anything like this and I'm very out of shape. I also have poor upper body strength, but I think after the class was over I felt a bit more confident doing the moves. Also, I'm glad we stretched before, but I forgot I bruise easily lol so I think it was good I tried it, but definitely a class that uses your whole body! I probably can't do Lyra again since the hoop is metal and can hurt as you are trying to practice the moves. I still think it's cool how aesthetic people more experienced look though and definitely think people should try it once! My instructor was Celeste and she was really patient and willing to teach you again if you were struggling. Connie and one of the Jennifer's helped me input my gift card when I was struggling to do that on the app. I know one thing I said was I wish there was a number I could have called to contact the studio for easier help, but they were still able to help me book via email. I wish I could give half stars here, but anyway had a good experience and was glad my sister bought me this class! Thanks for my first time trying this! You learn quick with teachers that are more than willing to help. Even though it's a big group class size, the teachers are the best at this studio! If the class schedule and location works for you, this is the best experience and a good bargain compared to studios in the area. The schedule was always packed. I bought a package to try out the lyra classes, and I've really enjoyed my experience so far. Celeste is super nice and gives great instructions--I've learned a lot in my time here. Everyone shares a hoop since there are only 5 hoops and the class usually has 10 people, but it wasn't a big issue because I definitely needed the rest between moves. There's also a pole class running at the same time, separated by just a curtain, so it can get pretty loud. It can be hard to hear Celeste, but she does her best to repeat herself. read more

This aerial studio is my home away from home. I've been coming here for over 2 years now. The community here is so fun and supportive. I've learned a lot of new aerial skills and came upon my love of pole dance when I was at a low point in my life. Turns out getting myself in the air was a great way to keep myself grounded. The instructors are thoughtful and mindful of students' progression and where their limits are, while still encouraging them to go further. It's a clean and large space. You're gonna find some stray glitter from heels or shoes, but that's to be expected. It's always decorated for the holidays (especially Halloween so beware of the scary creatures about). When I used to look up aerial/pole studios a few years ago, nothing would pop up in the area. Imagine my surprise when I looked it up this time and there were soooo many studios all over the place! I'm really glad I found Revel--it's tucked into a little area with ample parking and away from the big streets, which is always a plus for me (I'm used to LA where you fight for street parking in questionable areas). Pole class was fun, and the instructor (Debbie) was very good at explaining how the moves should be. I love that she accommodated people of all levels and challenged people with advanced moves if they wanted it. I also liked her warm up, which was very dynamic and consisted of "flowy" sequences and got you warm real fast. My favorite class here is the lyra class with Celeste. I loved that her warm ups were directly related to the moves we were doing in class that day and her coaching was FANTASTIC. Trust, I've had instructors who just "sorta" describe how to do the move, but Celeste would describe it very technically (ex: "internally/externally rotate" vs "just hold on with your arm") and it made the moves very easy to pick up as well as ensured that all the participants knew how to perform the moves safely. It also helps that Celeste is a very personable and easy person to talk to/ask questions. I had a blast (and a workout!) in her class, and Lyra 1 truly is a class for "all levels" as the description says. These experiences really made me wish I was able to come more consistently, but I will definitely visit again when I am in the area! read more

Revel Room is one of my favorite and most recommended Bay Area pole studios! On a recent trip, I took a Pole Tricks L2/3 class with Jenn, who's a phenomenal instructor. She makes the most complex pole tricks approachable for all levels of dancers, and I'm constantly impressed with the community she builds in her classroom. The studio itself is spacious and well-fitted with amenities like storage for personal belongings and restrooms. It doesn't feel cramped, dirty, or otherwise uncomfortable. If you are worried about embarrassing yourself or feeling less than because you don't know anything about pole/being sexy/dance/strength. This place will do the exact opposite of all the negative thoughts you're thinking. TRUST. I went into this on my own with so much anxiety because I have never danced before or felt comfortable in my skin. I used to do power lifting/bodybuilding so I had a bit of strength but that's about it. After my first few classes. I was ADDICTED. I immediately purchased their ten pack in apparatuses (you can mix and match pole/aerial) and ten pack in flexibility. Then booked as far in advance as I could, and booked another ten pack when I ran out. I've had Jenn P, Jenn T. Mei, Lisa, Quan, Rissa, Cindy as teachers and all have slight variations in how their classes are but love them individually for it. (Trust me when I say it's an addiction, I started going 3-4x a week just so I can get better faster, AND bought a pole for at home practice) They not only offer pole dancing/tricks but also Aerial silks, Lyra hoop, straps, and active flexibility classes! There's time for Open Studio to get practice in, and a mood room for filming. The active flexibility is great if you are looking to be able to stretch better, not be so stiff, and overall get more flexible! Great for people who sit all day or stay in one position. Be warned, you WILL feel pain, you WILL get massive bruises, but you will have FUN and look super cool doing it all. Everyone in the class is supportive as we're all learning together and the teachers are thorough in explaining how to do any tricks/moves, will be very aware of all the students in the class to help if needed. They also make it a point to be aware of any first timers so they can pay a tad more attention to make sure you're doing ok. I thought I wanted to do private classes because I was worried about how silly I would look, but in fact it makes more sense to do group classes because you need time to rest between moves and you can sometimes take turns with partners or have other people give you tips. It's also that much more exciting when you get the move down and everyone is cheering you on!! It's such a fun way to workout instead of doing cardio at the gym or lifting weights. And it is truly a whole body workout. I can see myself getting leaner with each week (As long as you put in the hours!) If you're hesitant about booking your first class, put those thoughts aside and do it now. You won't regret it! read more

I booked a private beginners pole dancing class with Jenn as a surprise bachelorette for my friend. Jenn was super welcoming and sweet upon arrival. It was both our first times pole dancing and Jenn made us feel very comfortable and explained everything clearly. She did not rush us even though we went a little past our 60 minute class. Jenn came up with an easy choreographed pole dancing class. It was challenging but do-able. I did not feel any judgement from Jenn and felt at home. This is the most inviting aerial fitness studio! They opened their doors right before the pandemic happened and I had the opportunity to try out their level 1 pole class with a friend. Took my very first pole class ever last night with Jenn as the instructor! She is super nice and outgoing. She took the time to remember everyone's names. At first I was a bit nervous to take this class because I didn't want to fall on my face or something, but it was extremely fun and I plan to return again. I went with a group of friends and people I have come across through orange theory, so it was cool that our class was a bit more intimate. I won't feel intimidated or insecure during my next class even if there will be other people. Jenn really let's you stay at your comfort and helps you achieve the perfect form. The warm up was a little intense lol, but the class in general was really fun. She played great music, which is always a plus! Upon arrival Jenn and Debbie were really welcoming. This was my first ever pole class with Jen and I'm so glad I tried it! It was a private class with my 4 friends and it was HARD WORK! My hands sweat easily so it was hard hanging on, but she had some hand gripping cream for me to try and alcohol spray for the pole which helped a lot! I failed a lot, but she was so encouraging and once I got a move down she would cheer me on which made me want to work even harder! Revel Room Studios have a lot to offer in the South Bay! They offer both Pole Dance and Lyra (Aerial Hoop) classes. If you like the sexy-aspect of Pole Dancing, there are Exotic Heels classes! If you just want to get flexible to have amazing poses at IG-worthy spots, they also offer Active Flexibility classes! If you're too shy to book a group class, you can always book a private lesson with one of the instructors! If you want a place to train, you can book an Open Studio session time. As you enter through the front, you will be greeted by one of the instructors (very friendly!). Then you go in and can put your belongings in the cube shelves. There are two restrooms available if you are coming straight from work and need to change clothes. When you enter the main studio space, you will be surprised by how HUGE the space is. There is a Pole Dance space and a separate Lyra (Aerial Hoop) space. There is plenty of space for each class so they usually hold 2 classes simultaneously. There is also a side space where you can rig other apparatuses (silks, straps, rope, etc.) separately from the Lyra space. In addition, there is a private room which is called "The Mood Room" with cool lights, a 8' pole, and plenty of space to do floorwork. All the instructors are very kind, friendly, and knowledgeable in whatever they teach. If you are a beginner, they are all very patient and will make you feel very comfortable. Don't be afraid to voice your concerns!! If you have more experience, they will challenge you and make sure you can improve, but at the same time, are aware of your limitations or injuries. They understand if you are uncomfortable with some moves and will be able to spot you if you need it or come up with different moves for you! I've been poling for a few years and decided to drop into Revel Room while I was in town for a trip. I had found them through Instagram. The community Jenn and the rest of the team created at Revel Room is truly special! The instructors remember their students by name and create a very supportive, welcoming environment. The students are positive and supportive as well. I don't think I've been to a more welcoming dance studio. I've taken Aerial Flow Level 2+, Level 3, and Level 4. My instructors (Rilla, Devon, Jenn) are clear in their instruction, spot you, and offer modifications to meet students where they are at. Class is well paced such that you have plenty of time to practice. I always leave class having learned a lot. Location is easy to find, plenty of parking available in the area. Poles are nice and high and have a great spin. Clean facilities with a fridge, microwave, and lounge area make Revel Room extra homey. They also offer aerial classes such as lyra, silks, and straps, which I hope to try another time. read more

Walking in the studio, I got welcomed by Jenn. She has a really good personable vibe. Instantly, I knew I was in good hands and felt like I had already visited this studio. There's a super cute waiting area for your class. There's plenty of cubbies to put your belongings. They have a fancy water machine (and the water is REALLY GOOD). They let you take your phones in to take pictures and videos if you'd like. Jenn mentioned the reason why you'll see people recording themselves is to review their form. You start with a 5-10 min warmup on a yoga mat, which is very necessary. Trust me, it'll warm you up! Then the instructor will slowly begin class with step by step moves. You'll do some spins, posing, climbing. Don't worry, it's not super advanced. Jenn is there EVERY step of the way. She'll show you a couple times, give some alternative or options. She walks around the studio to each person and gives great feedback. I love how she spent time with each person. There are so many positive reasons to give pole fitness a try. Yes, pole FITNESS. Most people start get wide eyed & think you're gonna audition for the move Hustlers haha. That's not it. Given there's multiple reasons, for me personally was to learn how to be comfortable with my own body. Not only as a confidence boost, but to trust how strong we can be without even knowing. I've watched so many posts and videos of all women with in different shapes and sizes who are so amazing! I can't wait to continue to take classes! I've been to Revel Room Studio for over a year now. It's an amazing and rewarding experience. Personally, I think going to the gym is very boring, so I always tried to find the alternatives. Ideally, where I can exercise and have fun at the same. Revel room's classes are the best alternatives I have found. They offer variety of classes and levels, from beginner to advance. All the instructors are extremely helpful, cheerful and experienced. I've grown so much, and yet there are still so much more to learn. I also had a chance to get to know some amazing people, who became my very close friends outside of the studio. In addition, pricing is very reasonable, especially if you buy their packages. If this is your first time, you should try Pole Tricks L1 with Jenn. She will make you feel like everything is possible :) . The best pole studio ever! I've done their online class and I've never felt so welcomed! The instructor was informative, nice, funny and sweet! When I couldn't get some of the moves down the instructor, Jen, was able to alter the choreography for me. She listened when I told her I couldn't do certain moves and even corrected my moves to help land the tricks better. She's so sweet and caring towards her students! Holy cow! Went here with the lady to try and learn something new, and man, is pole HARD but fun! They've got great COVID guidelines, so never felt in danger or unsafe, and I found the instruction to be top notch as a complete noob. I was the only guy in the class, but I never felt judged or out of place. I'd definitely try it again, and maybe even some of their other offerings, like the lyra or aerial stuff. It was really fun to learn some of the basics, like climbing a pole or using your momentum to spin. A little technique really goes a long way here, as I was man-handling my pole and just muscling my way through moves. I could see how the learning curve could be challenging but very fulfilling. My lady had a great time too! TL;DR, if you're looking for something fun and a great workout, drop in for a visit! The teachers were able to give me helpful tips and easier alternatives for my limited ability. I loved their positive attitudes.
