I haven't had dinner here, but I have had brunch. To put it simply, it's okay... but there's definitely plenty of room for improvement. While my friends and I were seated quickly upon arrival, for example, our server wasn't necessarily attentive and it took us quite a bit of time to get the check at the end of the meal. Additionally, while we had been provided a bottle of water for the table at the start of our meal, we easily distributed the entire bottle at the start of our meal and were never even asked if we wanted more. On a somewhat muggy morning, this would have been appreciated. In terms of food, it was hit-or-miss. One of my friends had ordered a lobster roll and onion rings, for example, and both looked delicious. I had ordered the mushroom crêpes (Sauteed spinach and mushrooms, whipped feta, diced tomato, sunny side egg), but without the egg. When my plate came to the table though, it just looked... incredibly lackluster. The crêpes were quite small, and didn't have nearly the kind of browned/cooked look that you'd usually expect from a crêpe. I'm not sure what kind of pan or griddle they may use for the crêpes, but they were a disappointment. And while I enjoy ingredients like sauteed spinach, there seemed to be a disproportionate amount of spinach to the mushrooms. More mushrooms, please! It is called a "mushroom crêpe", after all. This seemed pretty on par with my drink as well; specifically, it sounded like a great idea, but the execution was lackluster. In terms of overall ambiance, I can't really speak much to that because we all sat outside. We were thankfully covered by a tree, so when it started to sprinkle then we weren't really too concerned... though we would have been more so if we had probably been 30 minutes later (the rain was heavier), especially given how long it took to get our server's attention for the check. There were some other folks dining outside though - and their tables without cover - so I hope they were able to get sorted easily enough. TL;DR A bit of a lackluster brunch experience. Friends chose this restaurant because they offered outside seating and they could bring their dog. It's nice to have this option available, of course. But would I opt to visit this location if not for such conveniences? Probably not. read more

Really more like 2.5 stars, but it was a move-in night for the local colleges and the place was swamped, so I'll cut them some slack. The food was decent, but it took a ridiculous amount of time for it to come, even the cocktails we ordered right away. Ambience was fine - we were seated outside, but were behind the central bar, and the vibe from the bar was pretty frantic and stressed. Other than that the beer garden area seemed nice enough. One other thing - the seats at our high-top table were super-uncomfortable, almost like there were missing a piece. When your food takes 30+ minutes to arrive, you really notice that. Service was barely passable - our waitress never checked in after we ordered, didn't acknowledge the wait, and had to be pestered to bring our check. Oh well. We'll be back in Ithaca a bunch of times over the next 4 years while our kids are in college, so I was hoping to find a place where we could be regulars. Sadly, this ain't it. read more

Busy, bustling place for good reason also a few other restaurants in the immediate area were closed for the season) plenty of menu options for apps, sandwiches & mains - beer, wine & cocktails. Service was friendly & accommodating but a little spotty when they were really busy. My husband and I had a fabulous lunch here today. My fish sandwich (fried haddock) was the best fish sandwich I ever had! My husband had a turkey sandwich, and it was clearly fresh carved turkey. Really exceptional lunches. My issue with Revelry, however, is about the staff...or lack thereof. Our server, Elena, was the only wait staff there! This young woman handled all the booths inside, all of the tables outside on the sidewalk, and prepared all of the cocktails. Alone! By herself! She was absolutely amazing. Probably exhausted...but amazing! We plan on going back there for another meal before leaving Ithaca, and I hope the owner will be there. He/she needs to know this young lady deserves a raise! I've been here a few times now since they've opened and have enjoyed it each time. The food is always good, comes out at a reasonable time, and is fresh. I love their unique plates. It's a menu of sandwiches and salads but they all have a gourmet twist to them. It's on the pricier side but well worth the dollars! They've got a nice choice of house drinks but a full bar to enjoy anything you like. I do love how the menu supports non-drinkers by having mocktails on the menu but also a disclaimer that if you ask they can make something as a mocktail 'just ask'. The service is always friendly and quick, attentive and informative. Phil L helped us today and was very patient with our group. We reserved for 12 ahead of time but sadly had over 6 back out. Something for a server that no doubt is frustrating, he handled professionaly, smootj, and very nicely. Thank you Phil for your patience! I made a reservation for this establishment and I'm just ultimately disappointed. I took my girlfriend and future mother in law who were starving and famished here and we were almost never served by wait staff, even though the place was empty in the "dining area." (just a few uncomfortable wooden booths) When we were finally able to place our order to our waitress, we sat for 1 whole hour before realizing we were forgotten about completely and decided enough is enough and we left. Do not be fooled this place is NOT a restaurant it's a bar and nothing more. I will never go to this place again, and I recommend others do the same. read more

A: I work in restaurants. B: I never complain. So when I say this was one of the worst dining experiences of my life - please believe me. Let's start with the terrible service. I sat and it took 15 minutes for the waitress to come greet me, another 10 for the glass of wine. The food itself took another 20 minutes on top of that (as in 30 minutes after I ordered it). The appetizer never came until it finally came with the main course, instead of before as I asked. The same incredible wait period happened at the end when she twice asked if I was ready for the check, and I said yes both times, because all I wanted to do was leave, and yet again 10 minute wait times between each asking if I wanted the check. It wasn't even busy. Though she might have been the only server on the floor, I couldn't tell, that that would help explain it I guess. But even so she never checked on me once when I got the meal or I would have told her how bad it all was. So now, the food - the burrata was not burrata, it was just burned cheese on a piece of pepper, tasted like wet string cheese. The burger was supposed to be medium rare came out super well done. As overdonen as the burger was the fries were underdone, and had no crisp to them. if the waitress had come to check on me I'm not sure I would have sent it all back thougj because at this point I just wanted to be done with it, and I couldn't endure another 30 minute wait. In total the waitress spent 30 seconds at my table, I spent an hour and a half regretting my choice of place. Don't repeat my mistake. read more

We've been here a few times, but our last experience made me write this review. We had a VERY hangry 7 year old in our party and the place was unexpectedly busy. We were seated at the bar and were a bit nervous about our hangry friends behavior. Right off the bat the bartender (who was slammed) clocked what was happening and went out of his way to be friendly, kind, and engaging to our whole group. I was blown away at his kindness-he absolutely didn't need to engage with her and did. She's still talking about her "extra special Shirley Temple" almost a month later. We were in town for one night visiting Cornell and had a wonderful dinner at Revelry. Started with the chicken wings and Brussel sprouts for appetizers. Both were very good. For entrees we went for the fish and chips and the avocado caprese salad. Hands down it was the best fish and chips I ever had! Huge portions and absolutely delicious! I ordered a grapefruit mimosa and was given an orange juice mimosa. After asking the server about both she informed me that there was no grapefruit juice or ice coffee. Fine if this is the case, but weird to accept my order and then just bring out some different. If it was mentioned, I'd simply order differently. Both times it took a while to bring me a new drink too. Food was good! My sourdough buttermilk pancakes were thick and fluffy and filled with lots of sweet blueberries. A side of bacon is a bit skimpy, but the bacon was super crunchy and cooked perfectly. They have a large outdoor seating section right in the main commons area. They also open earlier for brunch than any other restaurant. Brunch service starts at 10 and most other spots weren't open until 11:30-12ish. read more

Went in with high hopes, but unfortunately disappointed. Went for lunch with a group of 8 and one entree was completely forgotten. Did their best to get to us quickly but was still 15 min+ for a grilled chicken Caesar. The turkey in the turkey caprese had a very odd almost tuna flavor to it and the greens were huge with just a light drizzle of dressing. Even asking for more couldn't come close to lightly coating the salad. Disappointing that the salads, which should have been the easiest, were the worst. read more

Had a really nice lunch here today. I like the modern aesthetic of this place. Our bartender was great. We started off with a cocktail and the hot honey fried chicken. The chicken had perfect flavor and crispyness. I got the Brie grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad for my lunch. First, I appreciate a good side salad as so many are lacking. Hi! As a former server, I would not return. The Cajun Caesar salad was great! It definitely wasn't Cajun but the caesar dressing was delicious. The service was below average. We waited 25 minutes for a server to acknowledge us. After 45 minutes of waiting, I received a half full lemon drop martini. I've heard this place is popular; however, I was not impressed or pleased at all. They had dirty glasses/plates all over the place which did not help the atmosphere. Everything was delicious! Perfect place to have fun meeting up after work with friends, we grabbed a bunch of share plates and dessert! We had the Truffle Mushroom Flatbread, Duck Bacon Wontons, Smoked Short Rib poutine and Burrata and Roasted Peppers. New drink menu tonight, we had the Blood Moon, so good it's dangerous, I could drink so many! We also had the Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade, so good.
