Great new spot in midtown. Dishes are a little pricey, but definitely worth it. We had a few different small/medium plates + dessert and it was plenty of food. First, The Epicurean is a fabulous hotel but the wait and bar staff at Reverence made my stay beyond amazing. The food is incredible. Try the homemade bread, the fried tuna roll or go for breakfast. I sat with several others traveling and they were raving about their meals as well!! Go and enjoy!!! read more

This restaurant has a great design and that is how it has earned the 2 stars I've listed. The food is shockingly bad one of the only meals that I literally couldn't eat. At $40+ per plate the temperature should be correct (didn't happen) but it should certainly be edible. read more

Beautiful space in the Epicurean hotel. We went to the Reverance for brunch and had great service. The brunch items weren't exactly accurate to what was on the website - they didn't have a couple of things to make cocktails or the shellfish tower, wasn't a big deal though. Had a few glasses of champagne to start. We ordered the loaded fries which were definitely delicious. I had the tuna which was good but didn't blow me away. The French fries were so good. Amazing experience in the heart of Midtown! Girls weekend trip to Atlanta and we stayed at Epicurean. Michael was fabulous, attentive service! Love the menu concept- thoughtful seasonal selections and a variety of portions for all appetites (and budgets). The scallop dish was one of the best things I've ever had! I took my family to this restaurant a few days ago for a celebration regarding some of my recent accomplishments. Some of those family members came from out of the country. The ambiance was lovely, warm tone. The service was impeccable. The host was so inviting and pleasant. Our servers, Mike & Jennifer, were absolutely spectacular and helped us with a few items on the menu. The pace of dinner was perfect. There were no hovering servers or rush to order throughout the night so the atmosphere was relaxing giving enough time for ongoing conversation. Cocktails were done amazingly. The reason my rating is low is due to the food, starting with cold biscuits that we had to ask to be redone. My appetizer was also cold and my octopus entree although cooked to perfection was also cold. I mentioned to the server that most of the food came out cold or room temperature (the plates were hotter than the food) but no one came over to apologize or offer new dishes. Given that the bill was pretty high and the vibe of the place, I was expecting more attention to detail to the food temperature. The steak frites was really good. I was very disappointed as I know that the head chef for this restaurant is well known and the food was very sub par. I was also at the opening of the Epicurean where the food was impeccable. I often eat and drink at The Office Bar which is phenomenal so I am invested in my contributions to this place. Hopefully my review helps spotlight some things that need to be revised. A lot of better places to go with in walking distance. This is a hotel restaurant, know that before you going. I had a reservation for Friday night @ 8:30. They only had 1 valet attendant. The attendant did not know how to drive my car. Make sure you get a validation from the restaurant. They will not offer it. Our party of 4 ordered bottled water, and a mix of appetizers. The water was just sat on the table. They did not pour it for us. It was not an issue. We opened the bottle and poured it ourselves. The food came shortly. It started with a small bite size something. I don't know what it was. We did not order it. Not sure if this was special for us or standard for everyone. It was a small ball of meat with a breading. It was served on a white spoon. I'm just going to get straight to the point. No one in our party liked the food. We should have known there would be an issue when the waitress responded to our questions about if something was good as hit or miss. Most of the food was not to serving temperature. The salmon we ordered was sent back. The duck was left uneaten, the steak was eaten , and the Mac and cheese was eaten but it is really just pasta not Mac and cheese. We left disappointed and will never come back. 4 people $385, I expected better. read more

I decided to visit to celebrate a special occasion. I'd previously called and was told that they do have something special to accommodate special occasions. Nothing happened... Let's start at the arrival. The entrance/lobby is shared with the hotel lobby and it was very confusing. I was treated by a gentleman and I told him that I had reservations, and I'm waiting on the rest of my party. He instructed me to stand at the bar and wait. I asked what are my other options. He said have a seat in the seating area, and I asked if a server comes for drinks. He said that he couldn't recognize the staff due to masks, but he would send someone over. Long story short, nobody came for a while, the same guy guided members of my party to have a seat with me, a server then asked if she could help due to us sitting for a while, she instructed us to the host who said that they'd been waiting on us, and that's when we learned that the first guy was not a part of the restaurant and wasted a bunch of our time talking about nothing. The drinks are great for the spring or summer. They are well crafted. They could have better presentation. The wines are good. The food was not good. I really expected a unique culinary experience that would be tantalizing. The presentation was well. None of the food was hot that was supposed to be. The hot stuff taste like a stick of butter, especially the ravioli. The lobster salad was the best. The caprese was not memorable, and the salmon trio is two deconstructed sushi pieces that were also not memorable. Nothing on the menu was specifically unique to this restaurant to make me have to go back and get it. All of the garnish sauces taste like nothing. FYI, the biscuits and butter (we were told that they didn't have bread although there was a butter knife with the place setting and then they appeared) has lard in them. My friend who disclosed her dietary restrictions with meat ate the biscuit. The server didn't tell us about the lard until I asked. The food flavors were actually a little weird and didn't sit well on my tongue. I stopped eating. I was over it. Things just wasn't executed well and we tried a lot of items on the menu. The ambiance. After I got passed the lobby situation and entered the dining area, I was not too impressed. It is definitely not intimate. I didn't like the high top tables and the lower tables all seemed for parties of 6 or more. It was freezing in there. That's probably why my food tasted like cold butter. The butter was solidifying. All ladies had their coats on and zipped up. Overall, I don't want to go back. I wish that the restaurant was up on a different floor or something. Nothing went pass me that made me excited to try. We never celebrated. It is a hotel restaurant that might need to be simplified, because what was going on might be too complicated for the staff. I was really disappointed by the hype of it, the marketing, and then the experience. read more

We had a really nice meal here. The hotel is really nice and this restaurant is no exception. We had a hard time deciding between the menu with several great sounding options. Way over priced. Tiny portions. Large plates were smaller than the medium plates. (Large plates ranged from $32 to $55 and were 1/3 the size of a normal portion.) Waiters had no knowledge of the food whatsoever. For the prices and the expected culinary experience the waiter should be able to explain the food on the menu. Came here for brunch on Easter. We had a 1230 reservation and we didn't get our food until 90 mins later. NO LIE. The restaurant wasn't busy, the (male) manager was rude, the female manager was a hit better. When the food finally came, half the order was wrong. We are still waiting. This place is TERRIBLE and I will not be back! Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere or EAT before you come! read more

Posh place for breakfast, costly unless you have a breakfast coupon from the hotel. Delightful food though and wonderful service. Reverence is a restaurant who probably suffers from its infancy. Came with a party of six for a valentines weekend couples dinner. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable however lacked when it came to taking care of our table for our drink and food orders. Drinks took a long time, however were delicious. Food is just a miss the squash soup was probably the best soup I've had. I ordered the steak frites and came out cold and over cooked. 2/5 food. 4/5 drinks. read more

Absolutely terrible server and manager. My gf made reservations for my birthday and from the beginning of our visit, the service was off. When my gf asked about our reservation under my name, the manager rudely said, "No. We don't have one". I'm used to, "Is there another name the reservation could be under?". It's hard to explain rude in text on Yelp - but everyone understands it when you experience it. We get that settled and sit down. The waiter comes by to take drink orders and when my mother asked for tea, he said they didn't have any. Then later stated "It must be on a boat somewhere or stuck at a dock". If we were friends, that would have been funny. But the reality is that there is tea across the street at Whole Foods. "What we do have is....." would have been great - we didn't get that. I order a bottle of Veuve and two appetizers. (Birthday, right) and then they bring out some biscuits that look amazing but were cold. My mother asks for warm biscuits and the waiter says, "This is as warm as they come". That's two rude comments to my mother at this point. I asked him to touch them - he would not. So he didn't care. He looked at me like I had two heads. I knew he didn't care about our table at that point. It's too easy to bring out another batch. I go speak to the manager and he is dismissive and immediately leaves the conversation. I sit back down and realize I'm at my own bday dinner and the waiter just disrespected my mother two times. When the manager came back, I just asked for the check. Now the manager has time to speak all of a sudden. The behavior that he displayed at this point was reasonable. But why did I have to leave the restaurant for the manager to take me seriously? The server is terrible. Charles the manager was ok. I just can't get over how poorly they handled such a simple issue like warm food. I also can't get over why the waiter would be disrespectful to a 73 year old mother. I can't comment on the food because we drank the bottle of Veuve and went across the street to McCrays for dinner. I've never walked out of a restaurant for an issue so disrespectful yet so easy to fix. Potential fixes could have been warm bread, a free drink, a "I'll take care of you", or even an apology. What we got was dismissive until I asked for the check and was taking four well paying and tipping customers somewhere else. I shouldn't have to threaten someone to get them to do their jobs. People have bad days and maybe this was one for the server and manager. But this is in the bottom 5% of service I've experienced, ever. read more

A fun surprise when you walk in the hotel lobby and find yourself in the ultimate chef's kitchen! Such an energizIng atmosphere, yet also can be chill and private depending on your seat. If I HAD to choose, my favorite dish from the two meals at Reverence is the chicken bacon grit waffle (brunch entree). Large portion, tons of flavor, beautiful presentation. Perfect mix of hearty southern meets urban modern fun. Fresh OJ was sublime! The night prior, we had a girls night and shared several small dishes. All unique, so visually appealing, and devoured. It was just ok, went on Mother's Day and the menu seemed limited. Also their is a wall barrier that breaks up half the restaurant and we were seated on the side that felt was closest to the entrance so we didn't get to experience the full ambiance of the restaurant which appear from the host stand to be nice. The food wasn't memorable. I have no plans to return. It was mediocre and the fries weren't that great either, my recommendation would be to change those. read more

Highly disappointed!!!!! I have been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time. I ordered the short rib only because of the RICE HUSH PUPPIES!! Once it came out, it was literally a charcuterie board just without crackers. It had sausage, some dried fruit no one on staff could actually tell me what it was, and the inside of oysters. I asked about it and the manager on staff said well there remaking the batter for the hush puppies as if that couldn't have been told before hand. His poor demeanor and response of just saying it's his first dinner shift in a while is no excuse. I really wish I would of gotten names because this was the most half ass service I have ever received. First and last time going here. read more

Excellent experience! Dined with a party of 7. We shared almost the entire menu! Cauliflower panna cotta was an absolutely delicious surprise! The Trumpet mushroom, I could have ordered 4 or 5 and made it my meal! Halibut steak was absolute perfection! Cocktails on point, great variety- and the Wine list is a real stunner! We passed this restaurant -- which bills and prices itself as haute cuisine -- frequently since we live in the neighborhood, but held off visiting until the kitchen had "settled in." (My wife and I have lived in Atlanta for years, but became used to fine dining in DC and NYC.) We decided to stop in on a recent stormy Saturday night. A long line turned out to be the single check in for the hotel which, unusually, is inside the restaurant. The restaurant space itself is utilitarian, noisy (since the bar is in the same space) and on this evening, quite cold. Host and server were efficient and friendly. The space was mostly empty -- possibly due to the storm -- and the handful of diners had ignored the business casual dress code. Drinks were tasty and biscuits excellent but the accompanying butter was extremely salty, which turned out to be the theme of the meal. My wife, who is vegan, ordered vegetables and I the red snapper special -- which turned out to cost 2x the other entres, so check before ordering. Fish and vegetables were well cooked but so heavily doused with salt that I could only stomach a few forkfuls. (We finished the pommel frites as I was fairly hungry.) Although I told the server that the meal was insanely salty and complained ( I admit somewhat snarkily) "if I were the judge on a popular food network show the cook would be chopped," no one came forward to respond to my complaint -- although what I took to be the restaurant manager was standing 20 feet away nervously surveying the empty tables. The chocolate chard dessert was edible, although my wife, who frequently bakes, wasn't impressed. In short, our meal seemed more tourist cuisine than epicurian and it is unlikely we will return. read more
