Went to Apres Diem on a Thursday night and sat at the bar as there was a lot of space. The bartender was very kind, friendly, and made us feel welcome right away. We ordered a few drinks including the sangria and a Light Saber, and the Absolution, which had a nice spicy kick to it, definitely a good choice if you like something with a little heat. For food, we started with the fried calamari, which was a great appetizer. Then we had the Salmon Farfalle and the ravioli. Both dishes were very good, flavorful, and filling. We couldn't skip dessert and ended up getting the chocolate cakes, which were delicious and the perfect way to end the meal. At one point, the power went out for a few minutes, but the staff handled it really well by bringing out candles and small lamps for everyone, which actually created a really cute and cozy atmosphere. Overall, a really solid spot with great food, drinks, and service. Definitely worth checking out for a nice, relaxed night out. read more

This is a cute restaurant nearby the beltline that serves dinner and brunch on the weekend / lunch during the week. They have both indoor and outdoor seating so it's a good spot to grab food and drinks on a nice day. The food was pretty decent and it was a nice spot to hang out. There's plenty of parking out front. If you're walking from the beltline, you have to get off by Trader Joe's and walk around to get to the complex where this restaurant is located. read more

Apres Diem is a European inspired bistro serving drinks and food. Unfortunately, I was not seeing the European vibes in the food or restaurant. There is a good amount of seating inside and outside, but the service was slow. My friend and I got the Salmon Ciabatta and Bagel Sammy. My Bagel Sammy was very average. There was way too much egg on a thinly sliced bagel that it was difficult to take one full bite of the bagel. I did enjoy the aioli and wish there was more on it the bagel. I chose the jalapeño corn cheese grits as a side which was savory (other than the corn... I do not like corn but I like grits), but I wish I asked for salt and pepper for additional seasoning. Similarly, my friend agreed that her Salmon Ciabatta needed more sauce and to be less thick. Overall, I think that this place is average. There is better food for cheaper elsewhere. read more

Apres Diem was one of my go-to spots when I was in college (20+ years ago before yelp was a thing). It was a blast to revisit the quirky, beautiful space with a mix of in door and out-door seating. We were having a late lunch/early dinner. I enjoyed the rigatoni pasta packed with grilled chicken, smoked pork chorizo, broccoli, tomatoes and smothered in a white wine cream sauce. Not terrible, and appreciate the lack of intrusiveness but it really took the server too long to green us, take our orders, check on us and bring our checks. I got a Prosecco drink with muddled raspberries which was very good, and a cup of coffee with almond milk which was also great coffee. However, good drinks alone cannot make up for food lacking in flavor. The huevos espaniola was good. It certainly was not bad, but I'd had a disappointing. Needed salt and pepper to make it taste better. The potatoes also needed some more seasoning. Couldn't had any bread since they had no gluten free options. My family member recommended this place as she has been here before. We arrived on a Wednesday night to find the parking lot to be nearly full since it is shared with the many other establishments in the plaza, plus is connected to the Beltline. Plenty of self-assigned seats to pick from either outside or inside. All the dishes were vibrantly presented with plenty of fresh and rich ingredients. I thoroughly enjoyed my seafood linguine which came in a rich red sauce, different than traditional marina based sauce. My family enjoyed their Salad Nicoise which came with a few cuts of tuna cooked to your liking as well as the pork chop prepared to your temperature preference. We shared their Drummer chocolate cake based on the many cakes they had on display inside. It was deliciously sweet and layered along with the fresh whip cream on the side. Overall, I really enjoyed the food. My biggest concern however is that the portions are certainly on the smaller side for a more hefty price. I came here for a brunch after a corporate volunteer event. They were super accommodating with our large group and I liked the patio where we were seated. Parking is also easy with the large lot in the back of the Midtown Trader Joe's Plaza. We got some appetizers to share, including the phyllo-wrapped brie which was delicious! I had a mimosa which was good too. For my main, I had the Huevos Espanola. The scramble was good, but a little dry. The brunch potatoes and biscuit were also decent, nothing crazy. I've been coming to Apres Diem for close to 20 years, which makes this especially disappointing to write. On December 27, I came in alone around 9:00 p.m. and sat at the bar. The bar was about half empty. Despite that, I waited well over 30 minutes without any acknowledgment, no menu, no water, no greeting, while other guests who arrived after me were served. I tried more than once to get the bartender's attention and was ignored. His demeanor felt aggressive and hostile, not just toward me but toward others at the bar as well. What made this more concerning is that I had seen similar behavior from this same bartender toward a couple during a visit the week before, so this didn't feel like a one-off bad night. I chose not to make a scene. Instead, I left and called from the parking lot to speak with a manager, hoping to understand what had happened and resolve it privately. I was invited back to the courtyard, where a manager offered to place my original order. I decided to just order a single appetizer to go. I offered to pay, but my card was never taken. Later that night, I received a private Facebook message from someone identifying himself as the bartender, sent from a personal account. The message was hostile, profane, personally insulting, and included gender-based derogatory language, along with comments about avoiding him if I wanted to return. Regardless of any service issue, this kind of private, aggressive communication from an employee is completely unacceptable. It crossed a line and left me feeling harassed and unsafe. I sent a detailed complaint to ownership and management and followed up through email and social media. More than two weeks later, I have received no response at all. Service issues happen. What matters is how they're handled. Privately harassing a customer and then ignoring a serious complaint reflects a larger problem, and after so many years of being a loyal customer, the silence has been deeply disappointing. I'm sharing this so others, especially those dining alone, can make an informed decision. read more

Visited as part of the Amazing Co scavenger hunt around Atlanta. Our hunt said we should have two sandwiches, and we only got one. We brought it to their attention and even though Amazing Co had communicated one sandwich to Apres Diem, they immediately made sure we got two. Great customer service for doing that! Simply the best little bistro in Atlanta, Apres Diem is my new neighborhood favorite. Perfect for any time of day, I've stopped in for lunch, dinner, an afternoon refresher, and after a movie, and have always had the best time at their spacious bar. Their dining rooms, patio, and lounge areas are warmly lit and decorated with funky local art, making for a refined yet casual and slightly retro vibe. The martinis and wine are outstanding and the food is better. On a more recent visit, I was wowed by their zippy and abundant Asian cabbage salad topped with perfectly seasoned grilled salmon, but their Mediterranean platter and goat cheese balls are equally as delicious. I love this little European style restaurant. The service is great. The food is delicious and it's located near the Piedmont Park; in case you work up an appetite. I came here on Easter and surprisingly, they were open. To beat the crowd, I came early and had a seat outside since the weather was so nice. I didn't order a cocktail or dessert; just food. I got the Turkey sandwich with their soup of the day which was chicken tortilla. I usually get the salmon ciabatta but decided to order something new. I should've gotten an order of soup to go because it was that good. Super flavorful and fresh baked tortilla chips. The sandwich comes with slices of turkey breast, avocado, bacon on sourdough. Went here on Friday evening 1/28/2022. I like they have an outdoor patio with heat. I finally made it! Been on my list of places for over 20 years. Yes 20 years. I must have tucked it away until my friend offered as a suggestion amd brought it back to the forefront. The patio area was a bit cozy. Not too many people out. The inside was not crowded and people were spaced out. Food ordered Salmon Farfalle and ceasar salad. Drink: Pear Moscow Mule. Salmon was cooked perfectly. Not dry and the whole dish was delectable and savory. It was so good that I was making myself sick because I didn't want to stop eating even though I was full. Oh yeah. Shaved Parmasean is the best and ciabiatta garlic bread ....yummy! The Pear Moscow Mule....that was a no go. I won't do that to myself again. I drank it though since someone else paid for it. I liked the Ceasars salad, but not the dressing. So next time I'll skip the dressing or try a different dressing. I look to return again sooner than later. read more

Love this restaurant and have been going for 25+ years. Laid back and a real chilled vibe. You can take your time and enjoy. Food is really good and very consistent. The Dessert Bar is wonderful and my favorite is the Strawberry Cake. The only challenge now is that the Plaza added only 2 hours free parking and note that your time starts when you drive in and your tag is read...not when you find a parking spot and scan to sign in. I received several charges $85 charges from Park Whiz for being 2 minutes late...the time it took to park and scan... this is not the fault of Apres Diem but the shady practices by the Plaza owners. read more

When management arrived, they claimed that the server was seasoned and that were delaying our items to give us time to finish our appetizer, but we hadn't requested that. We were on a tight schedule for lunch between meetings, so a more attentive staff would have been appreciated, especially since the restaurant was empty.
