    Carmel apple martini
    Joshua M.

My family and I had a late dinner on Saturday at Revery. The parking lot was very dark, in fact my wife sent me in to make sure it was open before she would leave the car. The inside of the restaurant was really nice, although the second door to the dining room feels a little strange. All of the staff we interacted with were really nice, however there was a terribly long delay that started with us getting seated and continued until we left. The delay on the service was just inexplicable. We got there at 7:50 and were told they could seat us in 15-20 mins. Half the tables looked to be empty but I can understand being delayed in the kitchen and with waitstaff so we sat and waited patiently. It took 25 mins before we were seated and we had to go in and ask them when they were going to seat us before they did so. No one spoke to us during the entire wait to let us know the status. When we finally did get seated, it felt like we just sat forever. Every part of dining experience felt incredibly slow. I waited a few days to put in my review so I could adjust my score from the two I wanted to give them on Saturday to the 4 I am giving them now. The food was pretty decent, I had the meatloaf which I enjoyed. The broccolini wasn't my favorite for preparation but that's my preference about lemon. I tried the Carmel apple martini which was like drinking the taste of fall, it was really good. I also shared some of the French bread with my son and I really enjoyed that a lot. Being as this is far from us and I didn't love my first experience, I don't see being back, but if you live in or near normal, I think this place is worth trying.

We were there for a special event on a Friday night and it was just lovely. The place is very classy. It has a black ceiling and is very dark inside which creates lots of ambiance. The food was delicious. I had the meatloaf and my partner had fish and fries. The place was plenty crowded and the food seemed to take a little bit to get out to us, which only gave us more time to visit.

It was a quite Thursday when we entered and were provided an opportunity to select our own spot in the main dining area. We picked a cozy booth and were lucky to learn 1/2 price bottles of wine! As the evening progressed things picked up and a lovely ambiance was created with the retro tunes, light conversation and delicious smells! Our food was fresh and fast and yummy. The apple bread pudding finished out our weekday dinner with a treat! Staff was very attentive and friendly. Will have to make this a weekday stop more often!

We didn't leave anything on our plates! The potatoes were a second helping!!

I had a great experience the last time I was here. My tip is to come early, they were out of a few items.

A perfect spot for celebrating a new job, leaving an old job, or just ushering in the weekend. We had reservations for 6:30 and were pleased to arrive to a bustling restaurant on a cold Friday night. Seated in the bar side near the fireplace, we had a lovely view of the room and enough privacy for personal conversation. He chose the special of the Shrimp Scampi and was pleased overall with the flavor and freshness of the shrimp. I opted for the meatloaf and broccoli. The meatloaf and sauce were tasty, the mashers a little on the bland side for me. Our appetizers of beets and poutine seemed like an odd match, but the horseradish/cream/cheese with the beets made them irresistible, and the pickled giardiniera on the poutine added a unique touch. Both were almost finished. We split dessert of a Thousand Hour Brownie and I had a peppermint martini that was perfectly festive for a January Friday. Derek was a great server, he was responsive but not intrusive, had a great smile and helped us feel welcome. We can't wait to come back.

Thing #2, this is a ONE-MAN OPERATION. Yup, he's the waiter, the prep-cook, the chef, the front-end manager AND the 'cashier'. At least that's the deal on Thursdays when we typically go. Ultimately, the first point works in your favor, cuz with a little forethought, a small cooler and your favorite beverage, you will likely save you and yours at least $10. As for the second premise, our suggestion is to ask for timeframes early and often...then get comfy and DOUBLE those estimates. Hopefully your company (and/or your phone) will make the time disappear without notice, because it'll honnestly be a bit. Wes is a very busy man...and he tends to tell you what you wanna hear - the only things actually preventing a fifth Yelp star. Just know that the chances are quite good that it will have been well worth the wait. Mac-N-Cheese, killer. Steaks, juicily executed extremely well. Combinations of proteins always seem to mesh well, even in something as simple as a wrap. And just when you think you understand what it is that he does really well, he throws a chicken and waffle dish that blows away anything else in town, possibly any other such attempt at this iconic southern dish. (Pro tip, try a side of jerk sauce or BYO Tobasco.) Perhaps he has assistance on the weekends - one would hope so anyway, but this place definitely makes us appreciate hard work, good times and outstanding cooking. Great take out game too!

They are huge portobello mushrooms, hand breaded, with their special sauce for dipping. We've actually gone back just to have these as a meal. There is something on the menu for everyone, from burgers and pizzas, to salads and wraps. We've tried many options on the menu. But so far, our favorite is the fish & chips. Again, a hand battered, huge portion of haddock. And go for the pickled cucumbers, sliced so thin you can almost see through them. Service is fantastic. When you go (and I know you will) ask for Ashley. She is a genuine, hard working, young lady who knows the menu and how to approach diners. We had to ask for extra sauce, and they were missing the sour cream that was shown in the menu picture. The portions were also very small for the price. The service was extremely slow. It took about 15 minutes before our server came to take our drink orders, and our food took a long time to arrive. We also had issues with a coupon that wouldn't scan. The server had to get the manager, who said she couldn't honor it because it was " old and too big of a discount" even though it was on the app and only offered us $2 off instead. We also had a $5 gift card that was forgotten when the bill was brought out, and we had to ask for the manager again to have it corrected. Overall, this was a frustrating experience with slow service, disappointing food, and unnecessary issues at checkout. Unfortunately, this visit did not live up to the experiences we've had here in the past. And people came in way after us and left way before us so we don't know why they were not taking care of our table.

It was fine, though the cocktail sauce could have used a little more horseradish. The basket of warm bread and whipped butter was great. The filets were prepared as directed, but seemed dry, tough and flavorless. Disappointed. But worse was the Brussels sprouts (one of our favorites). The sprouts were hard, woefully undercooked and crunchy. Not in a good way. The flavor was lost in the rough texture. Very disappointed. The staff seemed a little flustered too. Brought a side a sautéed onions when we'd ordered mushrooms. Too bad, as we had enjoyed our pasta meals before and had expected a steakhouse to perform better.
