I had been going here for a few years for my haircuts and loved this place. I will not be going back anymore, as I do not want to give WM any more of my business. To start, I was double booked at the Beloit location. She told me she would "see what she could do." She offered me to switch to the Rockford location. I ended up settling. That was definitely the first RED FLAG. Then as I was doing the wedding services, I realized it was going to be way over the advertised $500 for the "package." When I inquired about it, the wedding coordinator said the price varies depending on who does the work, and also a tip is automatically added on. The wedding package seems like a scam to get more money. They really need to note $500 or more on their website and make sure customers realize this. Also, my first trial run for hair and makeup was pretty much a disaster. I had planned my hair down or partial down. I showed her what I was wanting. It didn't even look slightly like the picture and it was falling out while I was still sitting in the chair. I left feeling like I needed to find a new place. All of these red flags and I should have listened. I talked to the wedding coordinator and she let me have a second trial. Still wasn't a huge fan of the style but the stylist assured me it would look better on the wedding day. I didn't think I could find anything else so last minute so I decided to trust her. I had such a bad feeling about it, though. Now fast forward to my wedding day. The day I've looked forward to since I was young. They did okay work, but they were not mindful of the time, which made my wedding 45 minutes late. I was supposed to start my hair at 10:30. I showed up at 9:30 as my 3 bridesmaids started at 8:45 and I wanted to be there with them for most of it. When I showed up, they were just starting on their hair or makeup. My bridesmaids were not late, as I confirmed with them and with the stylists themselves. It should have started at 8:45 as scheduled. My hair was supposed to start at 10:45 but it didn't start until noon. Then my makeup was supposed to follow at 12:15 but didn't start until 2. By then, I was sitting around waiting for makeup that was supposed to be COMPLETE by 1/1:30. My bridesmaids had to leave to start getting ready so they could be ready to help me. I didn't get to the ceremony location until around 3:10... THE CEREMONY STARTED AT 3. Schedules are made for a reason and there is no wiggle room when it comes to a wedding. I didn't walk down the aisle until 45 mins to an hour late. I had a corset dress and it wasn't tied correctly, but I had to deal with it as everyone was waiting on me. I do not like the way I looked on my wedding day because of this. Because we were running so late: - Pictures ended up being rushed, and didn't get all that was wanted. - No sunset photos. - We paid for a specific time frame for our reception location. We were over an hour late. The reception place was clearly frustrated and we ended up wasting $450 on the extra venue time we paid for but didn't use. - Food was sitting for a while waiting for us resulting in dry meat. - Guests waited forever, people had to leave early due to children, so didn't end up getting to eat. - Didn't get to play our planned wedding games. - Groom had extra unnecessary stress waiting for me and so did our son. - Created extra stress for minister, pianist (extra hour of music), and church helpers that had to stay late to clean up, etc. Now fast forward to after our wedding. I receive an email asking for a review. I gave an honest review mentioning the things stated above. I get a call from the wedding coordinator who seemed to listen. Then she offered a free pedi. I asked for a complimentary one for my husband as well and she told me no as he was not the one affected, I was. ALL of the crap WE went through and we get offered a single free pedi, and get told that my husband wasn't affected by all of their crap. I booked the pedi as I was in shock, but ended up canceling it. Your wedding is supposed to something you look back on with amazing memories and happy thoughts, but this experience really messed things up for us. I ended up having to go to another salon, where the stylists confirmed bleach had been left in my hair, causing significant damage and breakage. The person I had no longer works there so I was excited and hopeful that my experience would be better. Unfortunately, this recent experience was no better. The visit began with a disappointing start when upon check in we were informed that the steam room was out of order. This is a small business (my sister and I were the only clients in the women's section) and the only spa amenity is a small steam room. There is no sauna, hot tub, salt room etc. The steam room is it and it was closed. Not a good start but whatever things happen and I'm here for the facial. Had Adriana who by all accounts was doing a good facial until about 30 min in after putting the heated cloths on my feet...she said she would be right back and left the room! I have never had someone leave the room during a service anywhere. Usually when they put the hot towels on your feet they work on your hands or massage your neck and shoulders. So this was strange. From my last experience, where the esthetician kept leaving the wet towels on my face and sat in the room without touching me until the cloths got cold, I expected to not have it happen again. Unfortunately the same thing happened. Don't know if this esthetician had to use the restroom, felt sick or what but she was gone for a while. I was left in the room with the wet towels on my feet and nothing else being done while she was gone. She was gone for about 5-7 minutes and when the appt is only so long, any time there are "no hands on" is time that is lost during the service. It could have been spent giving a neck and shoulder massage which I never received. I've always had the neck and shoulder massage performed with a facial and I believe was meant to be performed as I was told by the front desk to remove the bra because a neck and shoulder massage was included. The esthetician leaving mid appt resulted in the service being stalled and her not having time to complete the neck and shoulder massage. She was gone so long that when she finally did come back in the room the wet cloths from my feet were cold. There was no apology and she didn't even extended the appointment later for the minutes she was gone to make up the time. As if time wasn't lost enough, when she returned she then put cream on my face and then let it sit on my face for another couple of minutes without touching me or continuing to do something while it was on. It almost felt like she was just trying to use up the time during the 60 min session to just get through the duration. I kept moving to let her know that I was awake in case she thought I was asleep and wanted to take advantage by doing nothing. Still she continued to sit and do nothing. It's like if you felt sick maybe stay at home or put me with someone else. Because to me it felt like she wasn't all in and not doing her best. When the session was complete I mentioned my disappointment to the front desk. Truly, for the 60 min session, it felt more like it was a rushed 45 min session. I was told that a manager would contact me when next they were working. The business is open Tues-Sat. I went in on Saturday so I expected to hear back at least by Thursday or latest Friday. In addition, I filled out their internal survey to also explain my experience in writing and notify them directly. It's been more than a week since my service and survey and I have yet to receive a reply. I was holding off on writing on this forum in hopes that they would reach out to me privately but since they didn't seem to want to respond to the private survey only they see, I am writing on this public forum where they seem to see reviews, to ensure that they correct these issues so no one else has the same experience. I've gotten over 20 facials in my life and have never had the experiences like I've had at this local establishment. I live in Chicago and am used to state of the art spa facilities and impeccable services. This day and age when money is tight, it's a splurge to spend time and money on a nonessential expense like a facial. So when I do and the experience is not the best, it's really disappointing. I had a negative experience the first time. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried a second time with no better results. I will not be returning for a third time. They have lost mine and my sister's business. The old days when they were called Weiss Morris Day Spa and the service was exceptional are gone. This place used to be so great but sometimes things do not get better over time. Frequent staff turnover, broken facilities, inconsistent estheticians and bizarre inservice practices are all I need to move on. So I'm done paying for mediocre services from WM Day Spa. I will instead exclusively receive my spa services from the exceptional spas and professional estheticians we have in the big city.

To fully relax, I'd recommend comfy clothes--not stiff jeans or what have you. You'll wind up removing everything above the waist and they give you a wrap robe. If I could wish for one thing with the service I had, it would be a true scalp and head massage. Like, really get in there and squeeze my brain. lol Will I be back? Yes. Will I do things differently?
