Revival Cafe & Kitchen is a modern and warm brunch spot in the Somerville area near Davis Square. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, with the indoor seating being a bit more crowded and tight. It's first come first serve with the seating, so it can be a bit hectic to find a place to sit. They don't allow for laptops on the weekends, which makes sense given the chaos of the weekend. There are a few metered parking spots in front of the restaurant, but that may also be a challenge. In terms of the menu, they have several sandwiches, pastries, and coffees/teas. The pastries are really good and so are the sandwiches. The only downside is the sandwiches are pretty small, especially for the price, so be prepared for that. Service is pretty quick despite how packed it can get. Revival is a cool place to check out if you're looking for a nice brunch place! read more

When you show up, even tho there's a window, you have to order your food and drink via an app. It takes up valuable time when you'd rather be having that valuable time with your friend who you haven't seen in a long time! Food was fine, not as good as Crema café, which I loved! But the process of getting the food definitely made the experience a drag. I ordered a drink after I got my sandwich, but I didn't receive a text that the drink was ready. You would think that whoever was inside Revival's kitchen could have put the drink in the window and called out the number, but they didn't. Salt n' Pepa Sando is a MUST - so good. Eggs are fluffy but structured so they don't crumble out of the sandwich. Just the right amount of bacon and cheese, and the maple mustard is crazy good. It was busy, bc/ of the weekend, but the service was still friendly! I tried the golden- a latte with honey and cinnamon, & my friend got an espresso, which came on a cute wooden tray with a cup of mineral water as well. Reminded me of coffee in Buenos Aires. This is my new favorite sit down cafe. We initially came here to get coffee and catch up on some homework but ended up snacking on a bunch of items and enjoying a light brunch instead! You enter through the side, order up at the counter and seat yourself. Once your food/ beverage is ready, you then walk up to the counter to collect it; this place is mostly self-service but it's baked into the prices (which are very reasonable). Here's the food we got (couldn't find a single flaw): 1. Tomato Bisque w focaccia 2. Meat Quiche (definitely get this) 3. Southern Biscuit (biscuit had nice crisp and extremely light. The egg was definitely done in a sous vide and was delicious!) 4. This place is cute, like a typical cafe should be in camberville. Friendly staff. The interesting thing is how they're not in the heart of davis but a block away so you won't just walk by it. You have to know it's there. I ended up getting one of my favorite things in the world: pumpkin chocolate chip bread. I would have to say I was not impressed, it was actually more dry than anything even though you get a thick piece. i am not sure if this was an isolated incident or not. read more

Review is not for their food but the iced decaf americano. Not sure what was in it or how it was made as my friend went in to order it for me. I wanted an iced decaf coffee but they don't sell iced decaf coffee so the barista offered my friend an iced decaf americano to which she said ok. It was the worst coffee I've ever had. Easy enough online ordering and then you grab it at the window. When I went you had to tell them your name ("check in") so they'd start preparing it after you ordered and it took me a minute to realize that. The seating has nice shade and good tables for two, but no strong wifi outdoors (and no nearby wifi to steal!) I had an iced golden crema latte (honey + cinnamon) which had pretty good flavor and wasn't too sweet, and they have some fun specialty lattes, but it didn't wow me quite enough for the price. The gluten free almond cake was light and yummy, the bites with raspberries were definitely the best as some of the other bites didn't have as much flavor. Awesome cafe! The food and drinks are superb. I come here all the time. The location is also very pretty. Well lit with lots of natural lighting. I'm specifically reviewing because I can't help but roll my eyes at some of the bad reviews here. Yes, it's a cafe, yes it's small, yes assholes will sit for hours and hours with their laptop on busy weekends. That is more about cafe culture than Revival itself. And Revival even has a policy where they turn off WiFi on the weekends to prevent exactly that thing! So I would argue they are tackling it as best they can. read more

Amazing. I just discovered this place (davis sq location) while seeking a breakfast sandwich / sandwich delivery spot in the area. I work from home and being able to have some tasty treats delivered 1+ year into quarantine during COVID has been wonderful. My review is only for food ive had delivered from this place via door dash. However Im PUMPED. Food arrives fast, fresh, and delicious. I've had their breakfast sammy (egg, cheese, broccoli on a bagel sandwich) and the eggplant sammy (eggplant, pickles, smoky spicy goat cheese on sweet potato bread) and my GOD man these are delicious! Breakfast review: Great bagel sandwich! Mediocre iced coffee, but gets the caffeine job done. I got the "Bagelicious" which tasted scrumptious. The iced coffee was sub-par. The place is packed with people on Saturdays. Nowhere to sit, and people are almost shoulder to shoulder while waiting in line. Not the place you go to if you want to enjoy some breakfast and get some work done on the weekend. It's awesome that they're so popular -- I'm happy for them!! I love the lattes here with oat milk and I am addicted to the breakfast sandwich ("plain Jane" is my go-to). It is always worth it to pay extra get the breakfast sandwich on a biscuit!! Biscuit is absolutely heavenly and the egg part of the sandwich comes in a rectangular shape which I get a kick out of. Have I paid $12 for a coffee and breakfast? Yes. This is the cutest coffee shop I've seen in the Boston/Cambridge area. They have outdoor seating with a fun, hipster vibe. Due to COVID, customers aren't allowed in the store but it looked warm and inviting so I'm looking forward to spending time there in the future. I ordered a golden crema which was perfect. The espresso was strong, flavorful, and smooth and the milk was frothed perfectly. The honey and cinnamon combination was delicious. Really disappointed in my experience here. Very overpriced coffee and pretty unfriendly staff. I believe Emersen took my order. Emersen was pretty aggressive and very clearly didn't want to be there. The miserable attitude of the generic service worker that hates the person in front of them asking them to do something for them is the vibe Emersen gave off. It was extremely uncomfortable and honestly made me want to ask for my money back. Another girl was just texting the entire time I was standing waiting for my order talking to another staff member about how they just want to go home. My suggestion - find a staff that actually enjoys their job so the customers can enjoy their experience in this establishment read more

The honey latte here is exquisite. Food is just what you want (overnight oats are the best I've had). Atmosphere is.. well, it's not a great place if you're looking for quiet, to study or intimate conversations and feels a bit stark. Had a delicious almond milk latte (with great presentation) and the overnight oats which were a good light lunch/snack option-- nice texture and delicious with the almond butter. Unlike the other places I check out on Yelp, I decided to go here specifically to appraise the ambience. I also ordered a latte since I saw another review praising the lattes here. I decided to get the decaf Golden Creme latte (which was not sweet enough for my taste, but okay). Although the venue was mostly full by the time I got there around 1:30pm, I found a spot almost immediately. As a couple of hours went by, the cafe emptied out little by little. Essentially everyone had a laptop and seemed to be working on something. The music was moderately loud, so it wasn't an ideal place to work.
