I've bought shoes here and gotten some older shoes cleaned. Great experience for both.

If you can judge a laundry service based on stain fighting power alone, then Reid's is 5 stars all…read morethe way. Just the other day, they eliminated unsightly scuff marks and even brightened my white summer Ralph Lauren Purple Label pants that I adore. Sweat stains on a black shirt? Sunscreen on a white collar? Not a problem. Reid's has successfully removed buffalo wing sauce on my white dress shirt. Twice. They truly are the stain fighting masters. Your order will usually be ready in two days. If you insist on next day service, they'll go ahead and do it for you. Reid's is a little more expensive than their competition, but certainly not the priciest. I avoid cut rate cleaners and their hit or miss service. You get what you pay for, so for a little extra I can sleep at night knowing they aren't going to destroy my clothing. I still utilize Parkcrest for extreme specialty items, such as my suits or shirts with intricate bead work (Yes, I know, I own shirts with intricate bead work). I used to go by the old maxim that if it had an Italian label, it went to Parkcrest. But since Reid's has never botched a dry cleaning job, my Gucci and Armani have found their way to Reid's and been brought home safely. The service is always friendly and professional, and the store is always clean. Reid's is also a great resource for minor alterations such as replacing the snaps, pant hooks, or buttons. There may be a minor charge, but when you're like me and couldn't mend clothing even with a gun pointed to your head, it's no big deal. If you have as much stuff laundered and dry cleaned as I do, it'd be wise to use their sticker book. If you fill it up after a while, you can turn it in for $5 off your order. Doesn't sound like much, but hey--that's a cocktail or appetizer at Happy Hour, right? If anything should go wrong (which it probably won't), there are business cards up front for both the manager and the owner, Doyle Reid. Seeing as they probably never want to hear from you, I assume they strive hard at the grassroots level not to screw up to begin with. But it's nice to know they're available. Posted inside is their Top Ten List as to why one should use Reid's. It's accurate, and pretty much sums all this up. 5 stars for flawless results.

Im sure they do good work and are conveniently located.. But, they are just not very nice…read more. Customer service is a big deal in this day and age and they just miss the boat with that on the regular..

However, my brother commented on how weird it looked. So, I decided to take them to the shoe hospital because according to my brother they were in bad shape. According to the repairman, the shoe repair services would take a few days. In my mind, I had a target price of no more than $10. However, it turned out to be more. Since I will have symmetrical shoes, I think it will be worth it. Yesterday, I dropped the flip flops off for repair. The process was quick and easy. I got the flip flops back the today. The flip flops are twins again. Historically (over the last 20+ years), I have had my shoes repaired only at the Austin Shoe hospital as they do great work.

A…read morefriend dropped off my Tumi suitcase to be repaired and was told by the young man working that they would repair the broken zipper and also replace a missing zipper pull. I picked up the suitcase without examining it closely and when I got home I realized the zipper pull was still missing. I took it back across town and the older man working this time told me that it wasn't part of the repair and that I would have to pay an additional $30 (on top of the $125 already paid) to have this tiny piece of hardware replaced. Worse, he didn't let me finish one sentence in the entire conversation. He interrupted me repeatedly, told me my experience was not what happened, and tried to mansplain to me that Tumi would not have repaired the suitcase (which they would have--we took it there first, but it would have taken longer). He was extremely rude, there was not one moment that he treated me with anything but disdain and disrespect, and I will never return to this location.
