AMAZING! I went to Revive earlier today for makeup and hair and they made me feel like a princess. I came from out of town and looked at Yelp reviews in the area of my hotel. Revive popped up with good reviews and thought I would check them out. I'm really glad I did. The staff was excellent and courteous. The salon was clean and decorated well. Most of all they did a great job on my makeup and hair. I actually don't usually like my hair wavy, but they did an awesome job. The next time I'm in the area I will definitely make a trip. So, I meant to review this a while ago. I went here for a gel manicure and it didn't last a week, started peeling and chipping and the color selection was tiny but I appreciated that it was done. I wound return and probably not for my hair either, it's a little tight in the salon and I just didn't get a friendly vibe from the staff. Also overpriced. read more

Easy to book an appointment. It's my second time here. I like my manicurist Angela so I came back. I'm very picky, and I have low pain tolerance - I never get my cuticles removed - only pushing for me. Angela handles my hands and nails well; does as requested. To my delight, my nails and gel polish have stayed glorious for a very long time! They looked delicate - as how I always like them. The salon is clean, and you get to have tea or coffee as you pass the time. Thankful for that! I gave four instead of five because they don't have a lot of gel polish to choose from. Been here a few times and it was fine. The ladies are very nice, but if you're going to go there expect to spend no less than 3 hours. Went to get a bayalage and all I got was a full head of blonde except for my roots- no blending whatsoever. They fried my hair but I had to get it fixed which took them three more tries. Went to other salons for advice and have been putting hair masks on multiple times a week and there is no going back from the damage they did to it. Other professionals said the only way I can fix this problems is by cutting all of my hair off. Not worth the risk, ladies. Update: 6 months later and this is what my hair looks like. I trusted the salon to do a keratin treatment on my hair. Of course, this could go horribly wrong. First time going and I requested a big service. I'm mixed- African American and Italian and my hair is very thick. It took a considerable amount of time (as these things do), but I was very satisfied with how my hair turned out. Owner told me everything to do with my hair, even told me to reach out anytime if I had any questions. The ladies were very sweet and professional, gave me tea and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. They're very thorough and my hair came out amazing. Still getting compliments two weeks later. I went initially because of a promotion they were running, but they've earned my trust. I'm staying because of the service. Went there for a balayage in early September 2018. I scheduled a consultation before procedure and met with the owner, Yohaira. She seemed very knowledgeable and we both came to an understanding of what I was looking. She gave me a verbal quote of $180, which included the discount for knowing someone that goes there as well. She charged me 200. I didn't say anything for the simple fact that I was giving her the benefit of the doubt it was a legit extra charge. After my 4 hour appointment, I was happy with the result, colorwise, but not exactly the blending, which I've noticed after a few days because I have natural curly hair. Let's be honest, balayage appears different on straight hair rather then curly. I reached out to her via Instagram, expressed my discontent and she told me to come any day before 10/14. So I did. I called on 10/10 to make an appointment and little did I know she was going to show her true colors. I asked her if it would cost anything, and she told me she had to charge me. Not the full color charge, but just $50 for wash and dry. She kept talking over me in a very passive aggressive tone, not letting me finish my sentences. Then went on to say, "Wow, I was really fooled by you. I thought you were nice". "You don't think that it costs time?" As if my time was priceless. How dare her. Don't be fooled by this MEDIOCRE salon. They are rude, hypocrite and not professional. They talk about clients that they know they don't speak Spanish. I decided last minute that I wanted to get my hair done while I was in the area. I called to see if someone was available and the owner, Yjayra, answered the phone. She said it wasn't a problem that I did not make an appointment prior to that day and that someone could take me when I got there. Additionally they were able to do African-American hair which is always my main concern. When I arrived I was greeted and asked if I wanted anything to drink which was wonderful because I was thirsty after a morning full of errands. I waited about 5 minutes after I arrived. In that time someone took my coat and asked what I was having done. On my drive to the salon I decided I would get a manicure if someone was available in addition to my hair. I was pleasantly surprised when Johanna started my appointment. She asked specifically what I wanted and she went to work. She washed and conditioned my hair, and put my hair in rollers. As I was sitting under the dryer (my least favorite part) Angela took wonderful care of my manicure asking how I liked to have my nails done. I am VERY particular about my nails so it was hard for me to allow a new person to do my nails. She spent a lot of time on my nails so they came out perfectly and as a bonus, it took the entire time to complete while I was under the dryer so I wasn't focused on that. After my hair was dry and nails complete I was taken to Johanna's chair. The rollers were removed and I got a scalp massage! Johanna asked how I liked my hair to be styled. My hair came out perfectly! I was extremely happy. It has been some time since I've had my hair done where I wasn't completely satisfied with the final result. This place literally revives my hair every time I go. The Owner Yojayra and her associates are very good at their job and very good at taming hair of all types. I entrusted them with a serious bleach job. She used a product that would do minimal damage to my black hair, and it all went smoothly with professional results. The salon is beautiful, gold and tiffany blue designs. It looks like an old fashioned beauty parlor that you would meet your friends at. The prices are very fair for the high quality of service by the beauticians. I also got a great discount as a first time client. I went here last week for a hair cut and blow dry and wasn't satisfied at all. The younger girl there did my hair her name is Kimberly. She was very dry no personality what's so ever. Hardly spoke and didn't make me feel comfortable at all. My hair looks uneven and chopped. I thought she did a great job because of the way she styled it and it looked at the salon. Two days later when I washed my hair is when I realized how chopped it looked and wasn't even at all. I had also asked for layers and of course no layers hair doesn't flow right. Looks like she cut it the wrong way so my hair falls really oddly when I style it. I honestly believe the other stylists are great from what I saw. A relative of mine gets her hair done by another stylist there and has never had an issue. I hope whoever goes doesn't have the experience I did which was disappointment it's so hard to find a good hair dresser. read more

I'm so glad I found this place! I haven't had a haircut in years since the last person who did it, did a horrible job that I vowed not to ever go to a salon again. Well that didn't last long since my ends were pretty bad after years of flat ironing and not getting a haircut, that I definitely needed to cut it ASAP! I stumbled upon this place and read the reviews before going in. When I arrived, the staff was very nice and the interior of the salon was very pretty. I explained to Yojayra my fear of getting the haircut but she was very nice and understanding. She explained what I needed to do to get my hair back to healthy and she also advised me of the inches that needed to be cut off. She did ask me if I felt comfortable with the inches she suggested to cut off or if I wanted it to be less inches than that but I went with what she suggested. The end result was great! I LOVE MY HAIR! My hair feels so healthy! I went out that night and everyone complemented the haircut and how healthy it felt. Now I'm just excited to keep my hair healthy. I am from out of town and was competing in a bodybuilding competition in Teaneck, about 5 minutes from Revive Spa Salon. I needed to have my hair and makeup professionally done for the show so I found Revive. I can't express how much I love this salon. The staff are ALL amazing - they each have their own unique talents. I have to say it was probably the best hair wash I have ever had - the chair was soooo comfortable, she massaged my head and took her time and it was just what I needed to calm my pre-show jitters. I had my hair and makeup done both days I was there and the end results were equally stunning. I was especially blown away by the makeup artist - she clearly has an expertise with makeup beyond that which I have seen from so many of the other makeup artists I have used over the years for my competitions. My hair was the best it has ever looked and it stayed in place all day. It was exactly what I wanted. I couldn't wait to come back on my 2nd day for another couple hours of relaxation. The vibe of the salon is wonderful, all of the girls are super sweet, highly skilled at what they do and they really cater to making you feel comfortable.
