I almost fell off my chair. I'm like why so much for a regular mani and pedi? She said oh the policy changed that on Sundays the owner increased the prices. I was not only blind sided but also furious that for a mediocre regular mani pedi nothing else- $60. How do people conduct business like this? This is very shady and unprofessional. If that's the case, why even open on a Sunday if you are going to price gouge!!!! Terrible business practices. AND then the prices were shown to me AFTER the job was complete. I've never witnessed this before ever and I'm still shocked even typing this. This is the worst appointment I have ever had in my entire life. The owner was clearly not ready to have an appointment today even though she took my $25 deposit online booking. Her drill wasn't charged her backup drill wasn't working. After I showed up to the salon on time and the salon was closed and she wasn't there and they proceeded to call me and see if I can come back because her drills were not charged. She had asked me if I wanted to come back an hour later I told her no and asked her if she could file my nails manually. She said yes and tried to put new gel, X nails on top of old gel, X without fully filing end or soaking them off, which annoyed me. When I complained and asked her to continue to soak them, she gave me a bit of an attitude, but agreed to do it. I don't think she understood what soaking off meant so then I asked her if she can cut down my nails and start fresh before putting the gel ax on. She agreed to that, and as she starts to put the gel ax on, she realizes that she still doesn't have her drill and that she can't proceed any longer. I quickly got aggravated and told her how unacceptable this was, and she basically turned it on me and said I told you I didn't have my drill and then I pretty much should know because I get my nails done so I asked for my $25 deposit back but she gave me and I walked out with my nails not done cut down nothing on them. She is very unorganized. The salon is not clean. It was freezing in there and quite honestly I think she was high.

Although I am a professional there are some aspects of the service that needs to be mentioned as their sanitation, disinfecting and sterilization procedures are not followed. Barbicide is not anywhere to be seen in the salon to disinfect tools. They have a sterilizer but it was not ON the tools were pulled out of there as of the machine were a simple shelf. The woman whom provided the service quickly filed, buffed and added cuticle oil to my cuticles, the next step would be to soak hands in warm soapy water to soften the cuticle to then continue on by pushing the cuticle and cutting if necessary. She was planning on giving me a dry manicure without water.. I asked for water and her response was, "oh you want water?" My response to her was, "well, yes, bc I am not painting my nails I just want my nails to be cleaned up correctly." She then proceeded to bring me water, without soap and it was COLD!! With that being said she didn't even wait long enough for the COLD WATER to soften my cuticle. She cut my cuticles, doing a poor job. At that moment I brought my 10 yr old daughter over and whispered in her ear that we would go elsewhere to get her a manicure bc this place doesn't do a good job. She understood. Oh and the hand massage was awful!! $10 for a terrible 10 minute manicure! Does that thumb look cleaned up to you? Nope!

It's unfortunate because this place is next door to my apartment and I was hoping to become a regular customer, but I simply cannot fathom paying a $20 surcharge every time i want my nails done.

She does it and leaves my finger nail smudged and totally unlike the design I provided. I asked her if she could re-do it because it was smudged from the picker she was using to make the dots. She calls me terrible and says no one else complains. At this point, I am in complete shock because she herself sees the issues of the nail polish being smudged and missing paint and thinks it's acceptable. So I said since I am terrible, I would like to leave and stop this service entirely. (Because who really wants to give their money to someone who would call them terrible because of their poor work as a first response.) So then she pushes her seat back, grabs acetone and pours it over my finger nails and then tosses a cotton ball onto hand rest? Couldn't even hand it to me like a civilized person. It was nuts. Now as I'm walking out to leave I try to take a business card so I can leave review. She then scatters around the salon to snatch all the business cards that she could find laying around and goes "we don't have business cards."
