I used to go here all the time, staff was good, never really had to wait, now its under New Management, Horrible, Horrible Experience , I made an appointment for a mani pedI, when my pedi was done , a Gentlemen came in and knew the new owner/Renter and she took him, even though I had an Appointment, she said I would have to wait , even though I had an Appointment and was ready for a manicure, I asked if the woman that did my pedicure if she could do my nails there was no one else there or waiting, the owner/Renter said no and told her to go to lunch. And then she charged me a lot for the pedicure, I will never step foot in that place again. I recently saw they were under "new management" so I gave them a try. It was the second worst manicure I've ever had. (The worst ever I walked out bleeding! ) The woman doing my manicure acted like the place was on fire and couldn't wait to finish me. 4 times I had to tell her to file my nails shorter. When it was over she barely massaged my hands. She wasn't friendly at all, and also they apparently thought they didn't need the air conditioning on even though it was about 90 degrees outside. Today I called to confirm once again and the lady was extremely rude did not let me speak at all she was yelling at me saying it was for a different time that was not the original and confirmed. When it comes to nail maintenance, I'm a bit odd: I'm both low-key, yet extremely picky. Low-key with the services, picky with the place of these services. Pinky & Pinky is one of those salons that aspire to be city-salon-like. I mean, where is by complimentary flute of champagne? Oh, that's right. You don't get that. I hate to sound like a snob, but for the prices of this place, the services are just not that great. "But Irina, gone are the days of $20 manicure & pedicure specials," you'll scream. Or "you really DO get what you pay for." To an extent - yes, to both. But this place is a bit ridiculous with their $35 gel manicures and $40 "spa" pedicures! Yes, it's clean and when looking up at the ceiling, there is this cool skylight effect of CLOUDS right through the light - real life CLOUDS, that gives off a peaceful, relaxing, zen-like atmosphere. Other than that, expect the Food Network on the TV with subtitles and eh overall service/customer service. (I told one girl one time that I wanted my nails longer, and she insisted on cutting them! She "knew better." OK then. Needless to say, NOT a big fan of her.) Oh, yeah. Almost forgot about the handy-dandy point-card that allows you to add points to your balance for free (YAY--not really) services (1 point for $10!) First FREE service - a pedicure - kicks in when you rack up a total of 33 points. Uh, that's $330 worth of services, but I ain't an accountant. Don't come here. Very poor service. Very rude. I've always been the type to never complain and just deal with whatever but I politely asked if she could fix my nails because I didn't like the way they came out very chunky and I have smaller fingers. I asked if she could file off some of the acrylic on my middle finger and she ignored me. I spoke to the manager and she told me she will not be fixing it because it's too much work but if I'm paying for a service then I want it done correctly and at the end she still took my money. The pedicures here are amazing. I always bring my friends here so we can get a pedi together! I usually go get my pedicures in nyc because of the service there and this matches the experience for a lesser price! Disappointed, my nail polish started to come off literally 4 hours after I got my nails done. I was embarrassed at my NYE party. I believe the error was after she used warm towel, she lotioned my hands and didn't remove the lotion completely. Also, you can still see my old coat of nail color on the sides of the nail (dark red) , it was not removed properly in the first place. I normally don't write reviews unless something is really amazing and I typically don't like to write any negative reviews, however, my experience here was frustrating and disappointing. I had stopped in on a whim because I had time to kill and they were open. I had wanted just my acrylics soaked off and regular manicure. After some back and forth between my nail tech and what I presume is the owner or manager (not in English) my tech shyly told me it would be $35. I have never had to pay to have my nails soaked off and. Regular manicure has never been that expensive. After some more back and forth I was told a fill in and gel paint would be $45 so for $10 difference I opted for the $45 option. During my manicure I repeatedly requested my nails be made shorter but was met with disagreement from my nail tech that they would not look as good. Ultimately they were left longer than I prefer due to my line of work but I did have to agree when I left the salon they looked great. Unfortunately, they did not look great for long. The acrylic on my thumb cracked by the next day and I saw a slight bubbling of the gel paint on certain nails and minor chipping on others. By day 2 the polish was chipping and peeling off almost every nail on my left hand and the cracked thumb and middle finger of my right. I was very upset and considered going back to ask they be redone, however, I had an important event far away that weekend and did not want to risk a repeat. I also considered stopping in and asking for a refund but based on the vibe from my first experience I felt it would probably be futile and at most result in a credit that I would never use. As a result I had to pay again to have my nails redone. Very disappointing, I will never go back and I recommend staying clear if you want your manicure to last and not be over charged. read more

Came here last minute with a friend to get a manicure. I usually like to stick with my go to place but I just recently moved to town and figured I would try them out. My manicure was a fail. I don't understand why people feel the need to rush a manicure when the place is empty of customers. The manicurist kept saying "your nails are so short" over and over. Well yes they are short because I have to keep them short for work. The length of the nail shouldn't matter, nail technicians should be able to handle any nail type. The color application was horrible...I could have done a better job myself. I was so disappointed. She also pushed into my cuticle pretty hard so I bled, since she was rushing..smh. I know I won't be coming here again because it was a waste of money, I just hope that they aren't always that sloppy with others. read more

If I could give one star I would. Worst nails salon I've ever been to. Wouldn't cut my nails to the desired length. Over priced. Nail polish had a texture to it. My edges of my nails were sharp like daggers. The ABSOLUTE worst!!!! My pedicure looked like a 5 year old painted them. Charged me to take off my gel polish and didn't tell me so not only did I get charged for a horrible manicure and pedicure but then an extra "fee" on top of it. My toe nails weren't cut straight. They prioritized other customers over her because hers was something simple. It was $35 for a very bad gel nail application with her own nail. I LOVED this place... LOVED as in past tense! Stay away! They changed owners around the first of the year and NOTHING is the same. All of the employees that were wonderful left. I called to make an appointment with the woman I usually go to and they did not tell me on the phone that she was NO longer working there! I walked in, and they were like "she no longer here- you go to her". I was really upset about how they lied and deceived me so I went to leave and the owner begged me to stay. I was in desperate need of a manicure so I figured I would give someone a try. I had the WORST experience of my life. First I had to wait 20 minutes for the woman to finish with someone else, even though the place was empty and I had an appointment. Finally when I sat down to get a gel manicure, the woman tried to push her favorite color on me and I politely told her I wanted another color and she got upset. I didn't say anything, but I could tell they re-used the tinfoil to wrap over the cotton ball soaked in acetone (for taking off the gel manicure). THEN she went to use utensils to scrape off the nail polish that she had JUST used on the previous client. NOTHING was sterilized. When I took my hands away and pointed that out she tried to lie and say it was. I was ready to leave, but then she got some what I thought was sterilized utensils and went to scrape my pinky and she pushed so hard I let out a yelp "OUCH!" She looked at me like I was crazy and got up and told me that I made HER feel uncomfortable. The only reason I didn't leave was because I needed to get the nail polish off, but I was ready to. I couldn't believe that this nail technician who claims to be a professional went to use DIRTY tools on me and then hurt me, but then told me that she was uncomfortable. How rude! She hurt me and tried to infect me with someone else's germs!!!!!!! Then the owner does my nails, and she did a horrible job. I can't even believe she charged me full price. While I was getting my manicure with the owner, the other nail tech who hurt me proceeding to talk about me in front of me and I had to call her out on being rude. The whole reason why I loved going here under the previous ownership was that it was so clean. They are supposed to disinfect everything with this special machine, and then put it in a pre-packed sterile pack that dentists use. I saw them taking it out of the box and putting it into the pre-pack WITHOUT being sterile. They are spreading germs and should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. That is highly illegal and unethical!! My gel manicure was so bad it didn't even last a week. It was not applied properly and I rather spare myself from their negative energy then have them even attempt to redeem themselves. No paying customer should ever be treated so disrespectfully. A good nail place in this area is very hard to come by, but I rather travel 20 minutes than deal with sub-par amateurs. read more

I am usually very weary about trying out new places but when I moved to the area and saw that they had just opened and I figured it was worth a shot. It's my go to place now when I find the time to run and get my nails all dolled up. The first time I went there they asked me if I would like to be a rewards member. If they ask you say yes. You get a cute little card that they scan everytime you go and they send you coupons and gift certificates in the mail. Not to mention you also get gift certificates the day you sign up which you can use the same day. Everyone there is very nice and sweet. It may be small but is one of the cleanest places I've ever been to. They also open new tools, that are slealed, for every cutsomer that comes in. I for one have never seen any other salon open new tools for each separate person. To say they are clean is an understatement. You do need an appointment but they are usually really flexible to help you figure a time in which you can come in. I had once gone there not having an appointment and there was like an hour wait. So I came back and they apologized for me having to wait and gave me a gift certificate for $5 to use that day. I love them. read more

I've been a regular for almost 2 and a half years now, and I can't say anything negative about this place. I read the reviews of some of the people wrote and I wanted to clarify something about the sterilization of their tools. Because I soley recommend people to this place because of their sterilization of tools and the cleanliness overall! First, I've had nail trouble from another nail salon, supposedly from not sterilizing their tools (and even sued) so, I probably am the pickiest of all about this matter. They have their tools sterilized and use the one time use nail filer and buffer. They have their tools sterilized in the blue package that you would see at your dentist's office, but I think some reviews that are written is a misunderstanding of how their tools get sterilized and I do understand how this can look to be dirty but when sterilizing tools, they put the dirty/used tools into the blue package (the one's that you see at the dentists' office) and then they put that into the sterilizing UV machine. I can imagine how if someone see this that they would think they are reusing the "dirty" tools by putting it back into the "clean" package. I know this for sure, because I'm so anal about sterilization, they were so kind to show me how it was done. I get my nails done by Jackie and she does a perfect job. As for the other nail technicians, I think they do a great job as well because two of my other friends get it done by someone other than Jackie, and their happy with their nails. I think you have to find the "right" kind of nail technician that fits you. They do have new owners however, nothing has changed as far as I know. When I walk in there is one girl working on a pedicure four other women doing nothing. My chair was prepared. As I was asked to have a seat was then told to wait for the girl to finish as she was almost done. WHY. I didn't ask. Then they decided to repair my split nail I said no they insisted. Now I have a huge Hill size gel lump on my big toe. I decided not to get a mani and head back to work. I hate when I don't have a good mani pedi experience. What a waste of a potential new spot. Pretty happy footsies...first time experience was good to very good overall. It was totally empty on a snowy afternoon so no wait at all. The owner tried to push the gel manicure for $35 supposedly lasting 3 weeks but I insisted on basic mani/pedi. The place itself is very clean & modern with shiny wood floors, trendy decor & relaxing massage chairs. The owner gave me a heated neck pillow which was a nice touch since it was a cold gray day. Overall the mani/pedi was nothing amazing; I'm more into deep leg/foot massages & thorough foot scrubs than most people but maybe I expect too much! So $30 for reg mani/pedi (no special deals just the basic price). The owner said NEXT time I visit I will get a special card...spend a certain amount & get a free service. Why I didn't get the special card on my first visit...I have no idea! So I will give it another go in a few weeks because it's def better than most places in the area! read more

I came in and asked for acrylic nails. I'm from the Bronx. She took over an hour to do my nails. She cut my nails so short which is not what I said. I asked why such a long and tedious process, she said she was just taking care of my nails. I figured Jersey does a different process. When it was time to pay she charged me 80$ !!!! She had the nerve to tell me she used UV gel. I argued that I NEVER ASKED FOR THAT! And she kept pushing me to make an appointment to come back in 2 weeks.
