I was obviously upset and asked him why he would tell me he had that item in stock when he barely had ANY stock available at all - especially after knowing I had to drive so far. I go in at 3:10pm on Thursday for a sign at the door saying they're closing at 4pm. I walk in and the woman at the desk saying that my suit hasn't come back yet, and if it doesn't come back before 4pm because they have to close early I'm screwed. ALL MEN SHOULD WEAR CUSTOM CLOTHES! I wanted to get…read moresomething special for my dad. He started a new career later in life and was nervous about the transition. He's never been much of a clothes guy, so he was initially reluctant when made the appointment w/Chris. He was worried about the cost too. Chris was awesome! Completely professional; dressed in J. HILBURN himself. Seeing the clothes in person really makes them hard to resist! He took the measurements & was able to engage my dad in a conversation about menswear that really seemed to change his perspective. My dad's a big guy, so he was concerned the clothes wouldn't fit, but Chris assured him that he could make it work, particularly since JH has recently expanded their big & tall repertoire. The final product was unbelievable! Even better than we expected! The cut, color, and fabric is so soft and polished-looking. The fabric swatches don't do these clothes justice! We were able to design the cut on the collar , sleeves, the back and shirt bottom. Then we customized buttons and stitching - who knew so many options went into a simple shirt?! Anyway, my dad looked fantastic in the finished product. He even looked about 20lbs slimmer! What's not to love about that. Chris was nice enough to slip in a couple of ties to match as a generous bonus! I could physically see my dad's affect change when he put these clothes on. He said he definitely felt more confident - even he was surprised! I will definitely be back for more...gotta get some pants to go with the shirts! If anyone thinks custom fit is unaffordable, I say "don't knock it til you try it!" Just start with 1 piece (around $110). Now I find myself paying attention to how men dress. You van really spot the difference between off the rack & custom! My own husband is up next!
